The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr

Goddamn it, can the Nexus stop having an aneurysm for even 5 seconds? The one time I go there to download mods, and it's freaking out so badly that it's literally impossible to download anything. Hell, it's going so nuts for me that it's all blue links on a white background rather than the usual formatting.
It's like it sensed that I wanted to download Skyrim mods at the very instant I did so, and decided to shit itself in protest.

Yeah, the Redguards are pretty badass. My favourite story is still how the Khajiit made a cat-tower to the moon and made a colony there :v:
I wish someone did a mod that replaced all the khajiit dialog in the game with a house cat meow and all the dialog options result in *meow* text
Can you use ENBoost to optimize your game, or is it made just to make ENBs murder your framerate more softly?
Can you use ENBoost to optimize your game, or is it made just to make ENBs murder your framerate more softly?
It's a feature of current ENB series for skyrim which can be used independantly.
Just download the latest ENB, drag it all into the skyrim folder. And go into ENBlocal.ini and set UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics to true.
ENBoost is a memory manager replacer basically for the engine. You tell it how much video memory you have, if you want it to curtain system memory, if you want to expand to x64 memory with a special tool and you can turn on some compression options. It's a memory and stability feature not really performance.
ENB has been optimized significantly over the last while though.
And changes their name to "Rug".
Alongside that, an optional file that chances all the names of Argonians to "Boots".

They're up there mining their moon sugar from a rotting corpse of a dead god.
I also like that their (Khajiit) leader is the personification/incarnation of the Third Moon.
Mane's p. cool. I wonder if he remembers his previous lives with what having the same soul.
Or make all Khajiit look like this

Bonus points for dubbing in Antonio Banderas for all the dialog.
That reminded me of

for some reason.

That's how I picture a typical Elsweyr family. But I'm not sure if that's a mom holding a baby, or daughter holding mom or dad.
Shortly after this portrait was made, Dad got scolded for not using the litter box. He got no catnip that night, and was lucky he avoided the squirt bottle.
I have solved my Skyrim game freezes. Ripped out some old mods that haven't been updated since 2012 that I forgot about, deleted all my saves, and started fresh. I played from Helgen all the way to needing to go shank a dragon without a single freeze.
Now, any good mod recommendations to add NPCs to the roads/wilds? I already have inconsequential NPCs, populated cities, and interesting NPCs.
Any one know why my skyrim keeps forcing window?

I thought it was onetweak, but I completely removed it.

Are you using an ENB? New versions have a force windowd system.
Populated Roads, lands, and paths.

I"ll check that out as soon as the Nexus stops trying to shit out a lung.
I"ll check that out as soon as the Nexus stops trying to shit out a lung.
Check also out Immersive Patrols and OBIS. They both add small groups roaming around.

No, I don't have ENB installed, since every time I use it I CTD
Check also out Immersive Patrols and OBIS. They both add small groups roaming around.
Will do. I'll probably install the other NPC mods by the Populated Roads modder. I hate how empty Skyrim feels now.
If anyone knows of a mod that adds more wildlife, that'd be great too. I looked last night, but beyond the mod I had installed, I wasn't finding anything. Of course, Nexus hurling every few minutes didn't help either. Improved stability my ass.
Found the problem, some how my TESV.exe was in compatibility mode for 7

When.. just around?
Did you use ENBoost? Set your Vram to like 80-90% of your vram. Turn on expand x64 and reduce system memory. That helped a lot for me. A long with that SKSE tweak.

For anyone looking to just use ENBoost, I would recommend installing this + the provided ENB config. It has had no performance hit on my end, only the improvements from ENBoost.

That'll work great, thanks!

As you see, I got ENB to work. I am loving it. It really brings out the colors.
My one true wish is for Konahrik to not have those lame tusks
I just want it to look like a normal Dragon Priest mask
I'm continually brought to a loss as to why people still pay attention to Kirkbride. All his stuff since the release of Morrowind has been glorified fanfiction.
I can sort of understand defering to him in regards to the stuff that he had a major part in, like the Tribunal, but all this 9th Era shit...
Kirkbride's great. He's a talented artist and game designer. Why shouldn't he indulge the community he helped create and continue to work his trade? Doesn't really hurt anyone.
Adam Adamowicz, another concept artist for TES had some really fucking awe-inspiring background concepts laid out for Skyrim which were apparently too detailed or irrelevant from a purist's outlook on gameplay and shut out from the final release. Some of them show a Nord priest directing his followers to drop a giant stone on a pit full of slaves. Awesome. Remember how good Shivering Isles was? It's because it was lifted almost exactly from his concepts and notes. It's just that Adamowicz isn't a writer, but eventually his concepts were uploaded for browsing by the fanbase and people naturally devoured it.
I just get down with that stuff, and if the brass at Bethesda is obviously too afraid nerd shit like that will scare people off the release or just doesn't matter then I'm all for getting it directly from devs and ex devs.
PS. Adamowicz died in 2009 tho :(

May he rest in peace.
Adamowicz and Kirkbride were two of the most creative people at Bethesda. It's a shame they were largely ignored while they were there.
EDIT: I see, however, why Kirkbride was ignored. Can someone explain C0DA to me in some sense of legibility? Because it feels like I'm reading the ramblings of an insane man.
Since when do NPCs fight over shitty armor you dropped? in the 400+ hours I played, I never saw that.
I use this sweetfx preset: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37846
I decided to actually just stop using COT and fully move to RCRN with many of those features built in. I will see how it does.
I've been away from Skyrim modding for a while but returned to try out this new memory patch. What's with all the 'immersive' mods everywhere now? Are they just clickbait?
Ok so the last time i asked this people told me to play the game vanilla first so i could enjoy mods.
There, i did it, played a little, now give me that god damn improved faces mod for oblivion i can't stand this shit
I really don't feel like looking for the right one in the nexus...
