The Elder Scrolls Megathread XV: A Song of Ice and Draugr

I'm kinda wondering why people get mad at me for defending myself against dark brotherhood assassins all of the time. I mean maybe I should just deal with them because I've already replaced them as a source of financial income but this just seems a bit odd
Now I'm curious, is there any mod that replaces the tree leaves that follow your camera around in oblivion with static ones more like morrowind/skyrim?
Oof, does anyone know how to get SoS working again after you uninstalled it? I've pretty much tried all I can think of. The command doesn't work, starting a new game won't bring it back, and I've replaced all the files several times, I even uninstalled all my mods but I can't get it's dialogue box to come back.
Simple. Stop trying to install Shlongs of Skyrim.

You say that as if such a thing were truly possible.
Man, Immersive First Person View is both awesome and nauseating until you mess with the options.
Oblivion Update: So far I've finished the Arena, most if not all of the miscellaneous quests (cities, towns, settlements, and so on), and the Fighter's Guild. For some reason, fighting the Blackwood guys in the final FG quest got the attention of the Dark Brotherhood, so when I went to sleep to level up (level 23! I already have a full suit of Glass Armor and a Daedric Sword and Bow and some arrows), good ol' Lucien Lachance contacted me. Despite the tempting offer, I'm going to join the Mages Guild next time I play and go through their quests. I still find it funny that it's possible to go through the Mages Guild questline without using a lick of magic and still become archmage. And by funny I mean bullshit. But alas, the completionist in me compels me to do their quests.
why wouldn't you join the DB? nobody knows you're in it, unlike that one guard in dragonsreach who randomly tells you "psst. i know who you are. hail sithis."
i almost shit my pants i had to kill him right then and there.
Is there a simple mod that makes your favorited weapons visible in third person. There's something you can put in the skyrim.ini called bDisableGearedUp=0, but its very buggy and makes my axe turn into my bow. Then there's something called Armed to the Teeth but it looks overly complicated for what I want to do. Are there any other mods that can do that?

Equipping Overhaul but it's also pretty dumb (if you have any weapon equipped and equip something else, you'll drop whatever you just had equipped)

Sounds of Skyrim really has a confusing acronym.
Look in the readme file, I am fairly certain it mentions a setstage console command somewhere with a code for the quest that initiates the dialogue box.
The thing is you have to use this command with the quest's ID AND add to this ID the value of the mod (you can see it in your mod loader, it's the hexadecimal value on the right).
Also try clearinvalidregistrations in the console.

there's an option to turn that off

Why wouldn't something like that be off by default?

Immersion/realism? As was explained in the video when the mod was first posted, if you're in the middle of a fight and want/need to swap weapons, you're not going to sheathe what you already have out and grab a new weapon. So the mod authors probably default it to that since most people want it for immersion/realism, and leave the option there for those of us who don't want it.

I'm going to join it, but I was already on my way to the nearest mages guild chapter when I went to sleep and Lucien came in.

I had to uninstall it, kept making my distant land flicker like mad. Was really cool but not worth the neat-factor of seeing your body when you look down when it causes distant land to flicker.

Then you didn't take the time to look at it, because there is a specific setting in the MCM menu that tells you to increase it's number if you see flickering. So your problem could've been immediately solved (assuming your computer could handle the higher settings) if you had taken the time. But I mean personally I don't use it because it makes me want to throw up and while it is cool, gameplay wise it does no favors for Skyrim.
Are there any mods to make hand-to-hand interesting in skyrim?
Are there any mods to make hand-to-hand interesting in skyrim?
SPERG has some interesting unarmed perks that make you stronger as you get more and more drunk, only downside is those perks are set in the pickpocket tree.
It essentially turns the whole pickpocket tree into an unarmored/unarmed bar-brawler that runs really fast, dodges attacks and relies on cheap shots.
Okay, so I keep getting attacked by this 'Vampire Lady' mob, which for some reason, doesn't have any attacks and just stands still or tries to flee me. I don't want this irritating monster in the game, but I don't know what mod added it.
Is there some way to check without having to uninstall a mod at a time and hoping that it will be the right one?
i love the achievement mod or whatever its called
small buffs for achieving big things, feels very rewarding
I wish I could mod. I want to make a sort of "shack on wheels" using the existing carriage (wain) model as a start (something much simpler than the Gypsy Eyes caravan, with nothing inside but a bedroll and a chest), let the player drive it, and have it count as shelter for Frostfall. And of course, it will be sold at a shop called Wains World, by an NPC named Garth.

It may have been a bug with Dawnguard.
You can try selecting he with the console and checking her ID. IIRC, the first two numbers are the mod's position in the load order.
I tried out Midas Magic Evolved yesterday.
It's beautiful.

That is extremly informative, thank you!

I thought that was the one that took spells from other packs and mashes it together claiming it as original content
or am I wrong
I thought that was the one that took spells from other packs and mashes it together claiming it as original content

I believe the Midas Magic Evolved just took the Midas Magic mod and then threw in a bunch of overpowered and unnecessary spells. Midas Magic by itself only added like 60 spells. The evolved version has 250+ spells.
So, after playing skyrim for 200 hours, and then realizing that Oblivion (how I remember it) had much more content (am I wrong?), I'm going to /actually play/ Oblivion for the first time (the first time I played it I was young and I thought it was a linear game I don't know I just did the main quest and quit)
So I need some essential mods. I have a pretty nice computer, so I'm down with graphical enhancements. I know of OCO, but what else must I download to just objectively improve the game?

FCOM.
The King of Kings.

Looks really cool, but I'm more looking forward to openMW, might import skyrim's player models once that comes out. Also I'm really liking that one mod that lets you explore post-Red Year vvardenfel and the rest of Morrowind.
