What. I hate stats because "obviously [I] think it's old"??? What kind of insane argument is that?

Seriously I don't get why people are trying to go from what could evolve to be much better customization back to the dark ages of character customization which essentially boils down to a few integers describing everything about your character. "My character can banish daedra with bound weapons, and harm NPCs by silently placing poison on them" is a whole lot more interesting than "My agility is 20 points higher".
You sure make it sound like it.
Anybody else wanted instead of a gay mmo just an option to play skyrim online? I dont play mmo's but I think playing the singleplayer with changes and some expansions would be awesome with another player
You sure make it sound like it.
More referring to morrowind and oblivions because like I said before I feel like it's probably some of the worst use of stats I've ever seen. Most of the time I feel removing stats is a bad option (see diablo 3, disaster of a game) but in skyrim's case it wasn't just removed it was replaced with something better. If you didn't take a look at the path of exile skill tree I linked before which is a best case example of perks I'd recommend checking that out, it's a fantastic example of good game design. Like your friend pops in as a sort of mercenary for hire or something.

It's a completely different system and I think that kind of perk tree in a TES game would be even more boring than what we have now.

I mean how it is right now is fine but some of the actual perks need a lot of work - like lockpicking being too easy without any perks making it a bit obsolete, and destruction magic being really bad perks or no perks.
I enjoyed the stat system in daggerfall and (surprisingly) primary skills you took in that game for your weapon skills worked a hell of a lot better than they did in morrowind right from the get-go, and I loved creating a character with my own personalized advantages and disadvantages.

I mean it was literally impossible in morrowind to get a perfect level in any sense of the word without leveling non-class skills - hypothetically if you managed to only level one of your major or minor skills you could get a perfect level in only one attribute, two if you were doing luck because it's always a 1x multiple.

I thought dancing around with other men in your underwear was an MMO staple.
Ah damnit, Midas Magic Evolved is fucking with my Ultimate Necromancy mod. Each mod changes perks in the Conjuration skill tree, and Midas Magic Evolved basically removed the whole other side of my Conjuration skill tree meant for necromancy. I still have the perks though I thing changing my load order will fix that
So today I learned that Oblivion with the difficulty slider all the way up is near fucking impossible. I'm struggling to get through the tutorial sequence because rats kill you in 3 hits and it takes so many hits to kill them. But I'm doing it. Slowly.

I usually like my games really buttfucking hard but that is ridiculous. Is there any mod that gives it a less fake difficulty? Or will I just have to stick to lowering the slider a bit?

I remember back in vanilla launch oblivion, I turned the difficulty slider up to max and went into a church. Suddenly take 80% of my life in damage from some kind of magic and flee. Notice my summon wasn't with me, go back in, everything in the church is dead :v:

I really like the Perk system of Skyrim, it made leveling up feel more involved and important. However, I would like to see a return of attributes.
I really like the Perk system of Skyrim, it made leveling up feel more involved and important. However, I would like to see a return of attributes.
I was hoping for a more fallout perk system, where you get to add to your stats and choose a fun passive ability.
Hey, coconut crabs are vicious! Legend says they ate Amelia Earhart alive after she crashed on a tiny island.
I thought they just ate her remains, which is why they couldn't find her body.
great mod
Would be nice to have the maps/play areas even somewhat closer to the actual sizes. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12875849/reactions/TESMaps.jpg[/t]
Fun fact: Yokuda sank due to a massive war IIRC, so most of what you see in green is under the sea level by the time the games' timeline starts. But it is indeed a massive continent as in this picture. Not sure what's up with Akavir, though.
I've never even heard of Lyg. Is that another name for Aldmeris?
I've never even heard of Lyg. Is that another name for Aldmeris?
Apparently it's a super obscure reverse-Tamriel that Michael Kirkbride and Michael Kirkbride only says exists, somehow on Nirn alongside Tamriel. How would that even work?
so basically i installed a few mods on vanilla skyrim and all worked well, i uninstalled a few more and it started crashing on start up so i installed all my mods and it still does it. Am i basically fucked? It took me a week to download so reinstalling is going to be a long process
Apparently it's a super obscure reverse-Tamriel that Michael Kirkbride and Michael Kirkbride only says exists, somehow on Nirn alongside Tamriel. I'm sure I've seen it before, is there a website somewhere that lists all the good/essential mods for Skyrim?

I seriously hope there is some typo here, but if your first solution to installing a couple of mods and it crashing is "INSTALL MORE MODS!!!111" then honestly I think you should just give up now man.
