That's part of my point. ENB didn't used to act like this. Turning on AO causes no performance change. Turning on SSS makes no performance change. Then I'd ask Boris about it (With screenshots or video proof) and see what he says.
i'm liking oblivion's emotion system even though it's a bit shallow it's actually there and it matters unlike skyrim it's fun to do it and then unlock a quest to do
i'm liking oblivion's emotion system even though it's a bit shallow it's actually there and it matters unlike skyrim it's fun to do it and then unlock a quest to do
The way all TES games handle emotions and relationships is so fucking uncanny and awkward. I guess it's kind of an amazing thing in its own right that they managed to make it totally different flavors of awkward in each game.
There's no system in skyrim though? I haven't seen one. It's like nothing you do matters to people. I just like it because it's something to do. I like things to do. I'm just on the hunt in Oblivion for lots of sidequests, but it's hard to find any. Skyrim gives you shitloads from everyone, I would imagine Oblivion does too. Am I just not looking in the right places?
There actually is a disposition system in Skyrim. It's just not visible to the player through the UI, and instead of a 0 to 100 range like in Morrowind and Oblivion, it's on a 9 points range that goes from -4 (archnemesis) to +4 (lover). Because of the much smaller scale, people will suddenly like you and offer you things after talking to them a single time, like how if you tell Idolaf Battle-Born you support his family he'll just consider you a lifelong friend and give you things regularly.
i've never noticed that from anyone ever and i have like 200 hours in the game

[editline]2nd February 2014[/editline] This explains it well: http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2787&start=30#p46926
I don't get this at all....? I turn off AO and I get a large performance boost. Turning off UseEffect gets rid of ALL the ENB post-processing and gives a massive perofrmance boost, but you still get to enjoy all the nice memory features and such.
Reinstall ENB perhaps, also regenerate the ini files. I dunno, that's all I can really suggest.
Saint Jiub was badass.
I am a hunter. I am a redeemer. I am Jiub. The tale of my rise to glory begins in the ash wastes of Morrowind. I rode alone, weapon at my side and the burning wind stinging my face. My quest was arduous, but necessary to ensure the survival of the Dunmer people. A pestilence was creeping across the ashlands, a menace with an insatiable hunger that plagued innocent travelers simply trying to get home. It was my self-sworn task to hunt them down one-by-one and drive them from the skies. Their fury knew no bounds and their war cry resonated across the land. They were the notorious cliff racers, and they had to be destroyed. On a particularly hot day during Sun's Height, I was tracking what I called a Lingerer... a cliff racer without a nest. He was a particularly feisty one too, leading me on a merry chase across almost three miles of ash dunes. I had managed to take a piece out of one of his wings in an earlier scuffle so he couldn't maintain much of a climb, but he still had quite a bit of stamina left and he was trying to make me tire of the chase. Almost two solid hours passed and my silt strider was tiring, but I couldn't give up... I had sworn to eliminate the foul beasts to the last and I wasn't about to let it go. If I was going to stop the thing, I'd have to do it fast. I pulled my longbow from my back and nocked my last arrow. I took a deep breath and pulled, trying to keep the cliff racer in my sights. It was literally a longshot with the beast gaining distance and the silt strider bouncing me around at full gallop. Finally, with a silent prayer, I released the string. The arrow sang through the air like a howling demon as it sliced its way towards its target. Finally, just as it crested the lip of a foyada, the arrow struck it in the midsection. It let out a horrible cry and fell out of sight. My cries of triumph were quickly stifled by the sound of over a hundred wings. Rising from the foyada was an entire colony of cliff racers and they were out for blood. The blasted thing had led me right to their nest and sacrificed itself with the intent of feeding me to its brood. It was a trap. The damned things had become much too clever. Knowing this was likely the end, I jumped down from the silt strider and hit the back of its leg with the flat of my glass blade. There was no need for the innocent thing to die here today because of my stupidity. As the ash cloud cleared from being stirred up by its massive legs, the cliff racer brood approached. I held my sword high and prepared for the worst. The battle lasted two full days. I was beaten, clawed, bitten and knocked down more times than I care to remember. In the end, seventy-six cliff racers were slaughtered. I was knee-deep in their corpses and my body on the verge of collapse. But I had survived. I smiled to the heavens and all went black. When I awoke, all I felt was my back on a cold stone floor. Every muscle in my body was on fire, and my vision was blurred. Slowly, I tried to climb to my feet. It took several agonizing minutes, but I finally managed to do it. As my eyes adjusted to the dim light of my new surroundings, I realized that I was standing before Lord Vivec himself. He was simply staring at me... floating above his throne and staring at me with his piercing eyes. When I began to prostrate myself as a sign of respect, he held up one of his hands as if to say it wasn't necessary. Was I dead? Was Lord Vivec pleased with me? Was he about to strike me down in anger for my somewhat sordid past? Suddenly I understood everything. Suddenly I realized that I was brought here for a reason. I should have died in those ash wastes, but Lord Vivec must have seen something inside me that he hadn't seen in millennia and decided to spare me from my fate. Thus began my ascent to Sainthood. Thus began the rise of Jiub!

Saint Jiub was badass.
I wonder if the artist made a cliff racer brush in Photoshop just for that picture. :v:

is it just me or does the "capture soul" sound in skyrim the most satisfying thing ever
is it just me or does the "capture soul" sound in skyrim the most satisfying thing ever
It's satisfying for like 10 times then it's annoying as fuck.
It's satisfying for like 10 times then it's annoying as fuck.
I definitely still really like it as a sound effect after hearing it thousands of times but it can be a bit over the top if you're rapidly capturing a whole bunch of enemies souls at once
I definitely still really like it as a sound effect after hearing it thousands of times but it can be a bit over the top if you're rapidly capturing a whole bunch of enemies souls at once
I have mod which makes it just a wind sound. Makes it much nicer.
So if i install 1 ENB then try to install a different one skyrim can no longer start up without crashing. Is there some "proper" way to uninstall ENB then?
Just curious, why do people like playing as Argonians?
[sp]I hope someone finds a way to rescue him from the Soul Cairn. He deserves Dark Elf Sovngard.[/sp]
[sp]Hey, at least he gets immortality of a sort. That's more than can be said for most of the men and mer on Nirn... They all get recycled in the magical soul blender in the sky.[/sp] I've spoilered this post because it's extremely visible. It's got to do with the Dawnguard expansion, so if you haven't played it and care about story, don't click it.
Just curious, why do people like playing as Argonians?
I've never got this either, the racial bonuses for the beast races in general are kinda terrible so it always kinda confused me [sp]and worried me in the case of the people downloading mods to add 8 tits for khajits[/sp]
Only because they like Lizard dicks.
Because best racial power, totally look awesome, immune to poison, don't have to worry about breathing underwater and because fuck you.
I personally like Argonians because: A) Intelligent playable lizard men in a fantasy world mostly populated by humans and elf variants are a unique change of pace (even if TES has unique takes on old fantasy staples to start with) B) They have racial stats/abilities which allow for healing factor, poison resistance and water-breathing, all abilities that can be used for any class since they're so broadly useful And (in the case of Skyrim) C) Who better to be a dragonborn than a half-reptile, half-man warrior?
Just curious, why do people like playing as Argonians?
They look rad, their lore is rad, they tell annoying diseases and poisons to piss right off, and because in Skyrim it's fun killing racist Stormcloak fucks as one. Hell yeah.
Just curious, why do people like playing as Argonians?
Because they're the master race, duh.
Lizards Of Skyrim mod
My first character on Oblivion was an argonian. Why? Because they look cool, that's why. Who gives a fuck about bonuses? I just like hardcore amphibian lizard dudes.
My first character on Oblivion was an argonian. Why? Because they look cool, that's why. Who gives a fuck about bonuses? I just like hardcore amphibian lizard dudes.
I guess that's the only reason that makes sense to me, immunity to poison is not that great when poison damage rarely comes up and is usually a once-per-combat thing, and breathing underwater when not totally useless can usually be done by equipping a ring once in a while. The only useful bonus really seems to be the regenerate health thing which I guess seems pretty decent but considering it's once a day and restoration is as effective as it is it's always seemed like a pretty weak choice
I like argonians because I like unlikely heroes, and argonians seem to fit the bill pretty well because if you don't play as one they get sidelined pretty hard. Plus, I find they're both easier and more fun to get into than other characters. I also like lizards.
If a game gives me a 'no drowning ever' option, I'm going to take it, lizard or no lizard. ....At least that was my reason for picking them in Oblivion. [sp]Somewhere along the line it has spiraled into a quest to make the lizardest lizard that ever lizard and next thing I know I'm editing the skeleton and removing the tits from every single piece of armor in game for female argonians.[/sp]
