If a game gives me a 'no drowning ever' option, I'm going to take it, lizard or no lizard.
....At least that was my reason for picking them in Oblivion. [sp]Somewhere along the line it has spiraled into a quest to make the lizardest lizard that ever lizard and next thing I know I'm editing the skeleton and removing the tits from every single piece of armor in game for female argonians.[/sp]
...And adding extra ones for khajiit?
...And adding extra ones for khajiit?
there's a sorta kinda fine line between lore friendly and whatever it is you're describing. But then again it has been a while since i read the books describing the different kinds of khajiit....
who chooses what race to play based on racial bonuses anyway
just play the one you like
who chooses what race to play based on racial bonuses anyway

What if that has to do with what you like? Like what if you want to play a mage-y character so you want more mana? What you're really saying is "just play the one whose appearance you like" which is fine but I think it's also totally valid to go for bonuses that affect the playstyle you're aiming for with that character
Pretty much every racial bonus in all of the elder scrolls games are only useful for a few hours of gameplay.
Almost all bonuses can be matched or surpassed by leveling or specific items/enchantments.
It's nice to have an early head start, sure, but to base your entire choice on the bonuses instead of say, choosing the one you like the looks of best, or to question other's choice of race because it doesn't have a "good" bonus, well that's just silly.

While there's nothing wrong with taking race bonuses into account when picking characters, said bonuses really amount to shit (in Skyrim anyway, no idea about the previous TES games.) Any race will fit into any playstyle with a little work.
This is all just personal experience however.

I disagree pretty completely, I'd say a race's traits are just as much a part of their character as their appearance and I'd say it's equally silly if not more so to dismiss them over appearance. You definitely can get more magic resist from gear than from the breton passive, and more fire resist from gear than the dark elf passive, but in the end you can't have 100% of everything without cheating so your racial perks determine the maximum height of your abilities.

Some will, like in skyrim kha'jits racial bonuses can be overcome in about 5 minutes of gameplay but an orc's racial ability to deal 2x damage and receive 1/2x damage could easily be the difference between winning a fight or not (even more easily on the higher difficulties). Some races abilities really got toned down from morrowind though
I feel really bad about wanting to remove Real Clouds because on one hand, 15% of the time it looks absolutely spectacular and I really like having it.
The other times though it's either popping into the sky or making the skybox stand out in a really distracting way.
I guess I'll just cross my fingers and hope for an update soon.
Guys.
My grass ran away.

So, I ran a new game, and played until the first encounter. But I didn't absorb the dragon and the main quest never progressed.
I guess I straight up wasn't dovahkiin in that one.

That'd be a pretty funny game mechanic in a sandbox RPG actually. Your character ends up not being the hero and instead you can only do the side quests :v:

You need to print out a picture and start taping it onto mailboxes around your neighborhood. I'm sure someone will find it for you.
So my character has both the beginning stages of vampirism and lycanthropy. I'm just sitting back waiting to see which will claim him first.
Always avoided vampirism. It's just a massive inconvenience with little reward.
I felt the same about lycanthrophy till I found a decent mod. I'm currently eyeballing http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9717/? which allows a massive amount of customization. I don't really mind breaking lore though.

vampirism actually makes you pretty tuff. just wear some fire resistance amulets or something.
it's especially great with mods like better vampires.

I think diverse dragons causes that bug.

It could be one of the Unofficial Patches being placed over one of the DLCs in your load order. I had that happen to me.

If you have certain light mods Khajiit night-eye is fucking essential for sneaking characters. Seriously, I nearly always have it in my Z slot instead of a dragon shout.

That's a bug with dragonborn. Install the unofficial patches to fix it.
Uh, I keep getting this bug that results in me deleting characters.
I basically load my save and it tells me i've removed a mod (when I haven't). Upon loading, all my mods reset and start up again, like frostfall etc. The camera goes into third person and the screen keeps blinking black over and over.
Any idea whats causing this?
Edit:
Nevermind I just found out it was due to overlapping the mod limit.

The modder behind it has supposidly had an "update coming out next week!!"... from early december. After 4months of nothing with it coming soon.
Two months later still nothing. He does good work but terrible at releasing things in a timely fashion. I doubt we'll ever get an update at this rate.

Holy shit, this is actually the only thing that is actually making me consider playing a Vampire.
Water Breathing was why I liked Argonians, however I love how in Oblivion you could obtain Fin Gleam, a secret helmet that gave you water breathing and might eye.
What's the difference?
Sanguinare Vampiris sounds super blatant and lame as shit
Sanguinare Vampiris sounds super blatant and lame as shit
But Porphyric Hemophilia sounds like some crippling disease and to my mind brings out an image of a sickly person who can't even get out of bed, instead of some creepy lifegiving disease that makes you into a monster. Though Sanguinare Vampiris isn't really good either.

Aren't pretty much any modder like that? In fact, that's how most mods die out; modders who just forget about them or have other stuff to do like studying.

I think Porphyric Hemophilia is like, the traditional name for the vampirism disease in mythology or something.
