Do you all got the teso beta invite for the comming Weekend?
What do I do to the latest ENB to enable that sexy volumetric mist?
However, if they just tossed in some extra, non-enter-able, houses, it would be going against the precedent that's be set by every game thus far.
Again, the big thing about TES is that if you can see it, you can go to it. You break that once you start saying "but not in here".
You either end with a game like ME or KOTR, where there's a series of relatively small and detailed areas inside which the plot plays out neatly and you can't deviate; or you get something like SR or GTA, where there's one massive world in which you can deviate, but every individual piece of that world is fairly bland.
With the current system, you get the same detailed(ish) environments and that massive world.
Besides, TES games are built for the wilderness. The cities pretty much only exist as a hub for quests and shops.
There have been two non-enterable houses in the series. One was a house in Morrowind, the other a burnt-out shack in Oblivion.
Honestly, I'm not much of a fan of cities just being a hub. I think they should be treated with the same respect as the wildernesses. I'm one of those people who would take an entire game in a to-scale Mournhold or Imperial City, so long as there's enough to do.
Downloading this client could take a while.

Open up enbseries.ini and under [EFFECT] change EnableMist=false to true. Then scroll to the very bottom, and add this (or replace the [MIST] section if it already exists).
Those are my settings, you may need to tweak them to look right with your config. You can tweak the settings in game by pressing shift+enter to open up the editor, then saving and applying the config.
They probably would have done that if they would have optimized their game properly.

This is all I can imagine when I see that picture

seriously was that running over 2 FPS :v:
Actually, my old 3 year rig that costed me 600 euro could run more population in cities mods just fine at 60 FPS.
I think it depends on if the NPC's are fighting since I did get some crashes with the battlefield mod.
edit: Also I would be intrested in Elder scrolls online, but really the price+subscription is too much for me.

I don't mean more populated cities, I mean that screenshot specifically with the entire population of india stuffed into whiterun :v:
Also got the beta invitation. Can't wait to get disappointed :v:
I'd love if the next main series TES game offhandedly mentioned molag bal's attempted merging of coldharbour and tamriel as a transcription error.

I get that one of the key aspects of TES is that most things you see have some sort of purpose and backstory to it, but I find it far more immersion breaking when the so-called capital of Skyrim is smaller than the rinky-dink norwegian village I live in. Obviously I'd rather they switched to an engine that allows for greater scale while maintaining about the same level of detail, but I'd personally be willing to sacrifice some detail for a world that doesn't feel quite as barren as it does. However, I fully understand why others might not.
I got Oblivion to run at about 35FPS on my shitty PC on low.
It runs at an amazing 400p.
I GOT MEDIUM RANGING FROM 15-32FPS
[t]http://i.minus.com/ibaEEBwuAWUU4I.png[/t]
I couldn't resist.
Feel free to hack my account, I don't think i need it after karma struck and I found out that the key I got was invalid!
Off to a rolling start I guess. :v:
By god, it's going to take like 6 hours to download this shit.
12 hours and counting
I GOT MEDIUM RANGING FROM 15-32FPS
I tried High.
It runs as good as Medium, but it crashes randomly.
When it comes to city sizes and the like, Bethesda really need to wake up to the fact that gamers are fine with background filler content that serves no purpose. Even if the actual playable space stayed the same, Whiterun would feel a lot more like a proper city if they just had a bunch of filler NPCs and some background buildings spread over a large area visible from both inside and outside the city to give the illusion of scale. As it stands, Whiterun doesn't even qualify as a hamlet.
The problem is the game engine LITERALLY cannot handle it. Cells that have complex or fucked up navmeshes cause crashes out the ass because beth use a really backwards method of navmeshing from the early 2000's era of video games ever since Fallout 3 (granted in Oblivion/Morrowind the navmeshing was basic as hell, but at least it was stable and hard to fuck up).
The engine also can't really handle too many things in one cell otherwise it crashes no matter how good your PC is.
There have been many mods that try and expand the cities but none of them ever get past one or two basic releases for one city because inevitably these mods are impossible to use in your game without causing crashing, irreversable navmesh damage that persists even after its uninstalled, infinite loading screens, etc. The engine is akin to Bethesda trying to make Whiterun out of the old HL2-style BSP format, and it crumbles at the task.
The only real way for a modder to expand the city sizes in this game is if they left the vanilla cells mostly alone and then simply added onto the walls by seperating the city up into actual districts like the Imperial City from Oblivion. Nobody has done that though, because nobody likes doing that type of thing plus its a lot more work.
solution: use an engine made to handle 200 npc's on screen at once.
shit, the engine they use for the lego star wars games would be perfect.
That's what I thought, I was honestly just going into the beta to rip on it and get banned. I actually ended up enjoying it quite a bit, although there was plenty that still needs fixing. Tonnes of bugs still, and the impact sounds are seemingly missing for some weapons.
Honestly I was the same way, I couldn't wait to get on and see how bad it was then rip it to high hell, but I fucking liked it. It has problems, but I could stick with this, its the different kind of MMO people were saying was needed. The hate it is already generating is simply that it has the misfortune of being a Elder Scrolls MMO.
The ESO launcher is incredible, just look at that stunning download speed.

At this rate I'm not even sure if I will make it on time at 10th (the day on which the beta ends). It feels like something is trying to deter me from even trying this out.
The creators realised how bad their game was.
They're trying to warn you.
If anyone wants to try ESO try my key I've already played enough and decided I'm not getting this game.

Apparently, if you've already given away or used a key from the last beta event, your new key will be invalid.
Is there any way to increase the spawn rate and chance of random encounters for dragons? I downloaded a mod off the workshop but it doesn't do dick all, and I actually encountered less dragons than before getting it.
I'm talking constant dragon attacks here. Like 10 at once if I must. I essentially want to throw Nazeem at them and harvest all their souls.
Yay, I got an invite into the next ESO beta, which is great since I missed the previous ones due to work :v:

If you wanna force dragon encounters you can always go to the word walls up on the mountains
In other news, for anyone joining the next ESO beta - apparently we're keeping our characters from the last beta so if you're in daggerfall covenant and need some snazzy heavy armor I can help you out with that
>You'll be able to play any characters you created during the last test, and they'll all be available again when we send you an invitation to our next test.
Thank god it'll be possible to get off the islands without playing constantly as to do it within one beta test
Maybe the game will actually be enjoyable not restricted to a tiny piece of land

But you can get off of the islands so fast, I did it before the first evening of the beta ended and I did every side quest on the islands.
I just got my beta key, I've been defending TESO so far but now I shall put my faith to the test and see if it's so bad as you people make it out to be here in the thread.
And I can say that I'm not an mmo fan and dislikes everything to do with multiplayer and social stuff so we'll see.

It's nowhere near as bad as anyone here is trying to make it out to be, though it certainly has its flaws. Every MMO in the end sacrifices some gameplay quality to add multiplayer so if you don't like multiplayer I don't think you'd enjoy it.
The thing of it is, it sacrifices being an Elder Scrolls game to be an MMO.
The MMO "half" of the game is clearly the predominant.
If MMOs are your favorite type of game, taking precedent over your love for The Elder Scrolls series, you'll probably like it.
If you like MMOs and haven't played any other Elder Scrolls game, I'm almost certain you'll love it.
It plays well for what it is, and I honestly suspect that the main audience of the game is going to be people who haven't played The Elder Scrolls before, or people who boarded the ship with Skyrim.
If you like The Elder Scrolls series more then you like the MMO formula, you probably won't like it.
It doesn't feel like an Elder Scrolls game. It doesn't play like one, and it really doesn't have anywhere near the depth of one.
That is the base issue with the game. Elder Scrolls and MMO just don't mix well. They can't, they won't, and really they shouldn't.
To say what I've said a thousand times since the first beta. It's a good MMO, and an awful Elder Scrolls game all mixed into one.
