It did, but as a whole package I still think it functions better than oblivion. I was feeling the same way as you... until level scaling started kicking in to full gear and reminded me how broken and dysfunctional oblivion is. The thing that irks me most is getting level scaled quest rewards. You just know that you've fucked yourself over by getting them at an early level since they'll be trash by the time you're level 25. [editline]1st June 2013[/editline] On the other hand though melee combat wasn't quite as bad as I remember it to be. Blocking is crap, however it stuns your opponents and gives you time to run around behind them and run them through. I had never realized that before. Clannfears and their damn leaping attacks are still crazy annoying though.

This Topaz plugin is pretty nifty:
just found out about the aspect of terror glitch. because of being flagged as a fear spell, all fire spells gain +10 damage. not much for most fire spells since their base damage is already quite high, but DoT spells like flames and especially ignite become pretty broken. with the glitch and right perks, hitting a target with ignite does 22/s damage over 15 seconds. dual casting it does like a total of ~600 damage, and the best part is that it stacks. ignite is also an apprentice spell, so it has a base cost of 30 (which frees up your level up points and perks and also allows you to enchant your gear with something else besides reduce magicka cost).

More Topazified screens: [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2012-12-13_000011.jpg[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2013-02-14_00007.jpg[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2013-02-12_00004.jpg[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2012-12-03_000041.jpg[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/2013-02-19_000014.jpg[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/TESV_2011-11-15_08-31-37-921.png[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/TESV_2011-11-13_10-57-06-60.png[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/TESV_2011-11-16_17-37-28-691.png[/t] [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/TESV_2011-11-12_23-06-58-89.png[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Oblivion_2011-06-30_09-57-47-48.png[/t] that's basically the majority of the ones I edited, actually. [editline]1st June 2013[/editline] Also, is there a way to increase the distance at which I can see lights? I know there's an ini tweak to do that but I forget the specifics.
What is this and how do you do it?
It's a photoshop plugin called Topaz Simplify.

In Oblivion, you could really become a demigod and that just from your statistics. In skyrim on the other hand, which is kind of ironic, even with every stat and 100 it only feels like you're slightly better in something. It's ironic because in Skyrim, where you are made the hero from the very beginning and has pressure onto the PC being important you can't reach the same levels of power, so to say, as you can in Oblivion. Bottom line, while Skyrim isn't a bad game by no means, playing them both a lot and comparing all for myself opened my eyes and has brought me to the conclusion that compared to Oblivion, Skyrim is rather average. In the end I think what matters is what you are looking for in your game.
So, fresh install and new game of skyrim, any good character creation extension mods for new experiences? I have a live another Life already.
It's a photoshop plugin called Topaz Simplify.
Is there a gimp version of it? I find it kind of funny how screen filters in videogames are comparable to photoshop filters. One day, when applying such filters takes a millisecond to do, we can get this effect rendering live in any videogame without replacing any textures.
Oh thats cool, if you're a Dark Elf you can start as a Refugee on Solstheim if you have Dragonborn with the Another Life mod. Also the Statue of Mara now has a voice overs, which sound pretty good.
It's a photoshop plugin called Topaz Simplify.
What settings did you use for these?
So, fresh install and new game of skyrim, any good character creation extension mods for new experiences?
What settings did you use for these?
some are Buzsim 1 while others are Buzsim 3.
I tried using Google but I didn't really find what I was looking for. Do any of you have those character creation/rule image for Oblivion, usually posted on 4chan where the last four digits dictate what your character will be like. If any of you could post one I'd be grateful
Does Skyrim have the same kind of item scaling (unique items didn't scale with your level) as Oblivion had? If yes, is there a mod to fix that?
It does, but it follows predefined items for certain levels, which may fuck you over if you get the item between level 25and 40 or something.
Does Skyrim have the same kind of item scaling (unique items didn't scale with your level) as Oblivion had? If yes, is there a mod to fix that?
There are a few items that are level-scaled, it sucks. Here's the list, and Miraak's mask is also leveled.
Also, there are about 5 million mods that "fixes" the items (making them super-OP).
Because it's a lot easier to punch in round numbers, rather than calculating everything based on formulas of how the systems work.
Oh, so most of the unique items have static stats?
No. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Leveled_Items
haha, what. I run into solitude, kill Roogvir before the executioner can, kill Captain Aldis, then everyone stops attacking me.
Does anyone know if Dragonborn and Dawnguard are going to go on sale? [editline]fad[/editline] Is Dawnguard even worth it? Metacritic's reviews don't make it sound very promising.
what the hell, now i've got argonians chasing me.
what the hell, now i've got argonians chasing me.
You killed an imperial general, causing the stormcloaks to win the war, leading to the Argonians having to work more in the docks.

It's what I've been doing.
I remember there was a mod that allowed you to "refresh" leveled items to get them on par with your level No idea how it was called though, maybe if you try googling it you can find it
