Actually, SW:TOR didn't if I remember correctly. But then again, that game completely failed at launch.
no it did come with a month of free time, you just had to give them credit card info
it was still a free month tho
TES:O has got log in queue. What the fuck.
To be fair isn't this the stress test weekend. As in cram as many people as possible in the game which makes complete sense that there is a log in queue.
Not mine:

Should've expected that from an MMO.
It was worse yesterday when you literally had to wait half an hour to get to the character selection screen.
So when does the beta end exactly? 2h of installing the game into a 1h30m login queue, this game better be amazing.
Elspin should get the title as the 'Official ESO Defender'
Why are you people so angry at someone liking the game that when they provide objective pros and cons of what they think about the game that you want to pay money publicly shame them for it? There's a point when you have to realize that's a bit sad
I give up on playing ESO
Try to login and got 1 hr 12 minute wait time.

To be completely honest, and fair, I liked the beta from what I've played on it. I haven't gotten to a point where I start just randomly playing with people I've never met like I had in WoW at times for dungeons and things like that, and by no means think spending over $180 a year on it is worth it: but I do like the direction the game is going to go if the developers get to do what they want and the PvP proves to be pretty okay.

I got an hour and 16 minute wait time. I'm going to wait with the game minimized since I haven't gotten to play at all this weekend.
I don't understand how you guys are getting such long wait times, so far today I've been able to get into the game and even Alliance War in a pair of minutes max.
Elspin should get the title as the 'Official ESO Defender'
If he gets one, then I guess its only fair to get me one as well.
God forbid anyone actually likes a game and simply describes what its strengths AND weaknesses are.
EDIT
Fuck 1hr 18m login right now, oh well, last time it toke about 15 minutes.
Also pvp is pretty cool, nothing like storming a keep with 60 other players with others manning catapults and those giant crossbows on wheels (forgot the name)
Shame that the Anvil area of Cyrodiil seems to have been chopped off for whatever reason.

No, Facepunch must be a hivemind and have only one globally agreed upon opinion. Anyone who thinks differently is wrong, stupid, and must be publicly humiliated.

How was it? I haven't been able to play PVP in the 2 beta's I've been in. I barely played in this one because it's been so packed I didn't want to bother. That and I've got a lot of real life stuff to do, so the one day I was on I mostly just helped out people new to the beta

I really don't know, all I did was get to the entrance of the Imperial City. I saw a dragon there, and then I got murdered by two high-leveled meanies.

There's dragons in ESO?

Its pretty cool, its all a system of forts and resources around them (which I'm sure give some sort of benefit) I got in as soon as one of our forts was under attack, I walk out and there is archers and mages on the walls (with catapults and those crossbow things) firing on the enemy below as about 30-40 melee players wait in the courtyard for when they bash open the gates. Fortunately for us, we rush a counterattack and drive them away.
After that me and about 20 other players rushed to a nearby farm and toke it back from some enemy players cut off from the main body. Then we joined a huge wave (must of been around 100 of us) and launched our own attack on one of their outposts (which from what Ive seen are like weaker forts) I ended up getting killed manning a battering ram with 8 other players. After that I had to log off so I didn't get the whole experience. I did see lots of siege works such as ladders, siege towers and platforms for archers.
It seems the cities themselves are not attack able which is a shame, would of been a better fight then just the forts.
Also the forts are linked with way shrines so you can get reinforcements in a hurry, unless they break in and kill the npc mages maintaining it.

Oh course there's dragons, they're just invisible, and very quite.
I like this game fuck you all :v:
I wish I had more time to try this game, not until tomorrow 10 AM or something.

I'd like to have personal opinion and try it out instead of watching videos and judging it.

I like DCUO so repetitive quests might not be a problem.
Well, "dragons".
Ahhh, ok. They seem a bit more like giant versions of gargoyles from dawnguard than dragons, but either way I'm glad they're not dicking around with the lore even more by adding actual dragons
Now that I got in, finally, I'm pleased with what's happened. It's pretty different now and a lot better.
I sort of hope ESO gets its own thread when its released so I don't have to scroll so fast anymore
Maybe I'm too informed by TORtanic hype, then.
I intend to get back into the game now that I have a computer that can actually run it (I quite like the Imperial Agents), so I suppose I'll see for myself.
The only thing that really bothers me is that my last brief 'can I run this' foray in to the game showed me that I can't play half the races, and I found out that you can only have a couple characters, meaning all my old characters would have to be deleted. As someone who really likes making new characters all the time, that drives me nuts.
That's the interesting thing about how LucasArts worked. A lot of projects were self-cannibalizing. When they were throwing around concepts for KOTOR 3, they actually had decided to have it done by an outside developer to keep Lucas from canning it at the last minute, like he had done to every other game the team was working on.
So they called up Bioware, negotiated some licensing rights, gave them the story and concepts they had, and told them to roll with it. If they hadn't, there's probably a chance we never would have seen a KOTOR 3 at all.
Same thing happened with Battlefront 3 four or five times. Lucas canned all the internal projects, and he basically started to crush the outside projects by tightening publishing constraints. He is not a smart man. I'm really glad Disney bought them out, at least they know how to make money.

You mean Battlefront 3 and KOTOR2 right? Also Obsidian did 2 not Bioware.
My biggest beef is the damn thing being a whopping sixty dollar price dag AAAAAAAAAND 15 dollars a month after that.
When I'm dishing out that much money for a video game it better be fucking amazing.

I dunno, even though it basically pretends established lore doesn't exist, it's still solid as a general MMO.
And besides, he's still making quality posts, unlike that one guy who hated SkyRe many moons ago
Reached the edge of the world... I wonder how big the full game is if we're missing a lot of content?

I haven't been keeping up with this new MMO at all. Can someone fill me in on how it breaks TES lore, or link me to somewhere that does?

The factions make 0 sense, Altmer, Bosmer, and.... Khajiit. Yeah let's throw fucking Khajiit with the Aldmeri Dominion not to mention that Khajiit and Bosmer have been warring for centuries. Breton, Orsimer, and Redguard (yeah because the Orcs would work with the Redguard and Bretons that enslaved and warred with them, yep).... Nord, Dunmer, and Argonians. The fucking Argonians are in the same alliance as the Dunmer. Are you shitting me? Dunmer HATE the Argonians.
That's just the Alliances... there's a lot more shit that was posted but I haven't had the liberty to actually experience it.
There's also a city that's supposed to look like it's made of Glass and really high sky scraper towers when described in the books in the TES games but in TESO it's generic medieval city #2065923
Oh should I mention that in no TES books at all did it ever describe giant fucking anchors coming from the sky trying to drag Nirn into Coldharbour. I mean that'd be a pretty HUGE event to write in history but nope it's like it never existed as if Molag Bal wiped everyone's memories.
