you find like 3 elder scrolls in skyrim, 1 in oblivion, and probably more in others than I'm forgetting right?
Actually no. That's all.
considering it's not all of your vision at once.
They would fall into the Naifs and/or Unguarded Intellects reader categories, losing their vision forever because they've not trained and meditated for decade+ for reading an Elder Scroll or just not understanding what the fuck they're doing with a shitty unintelligible scroll like that.
Group the First: The Naifs
For one who has received no training in the history or nature of the Elder Scrolls, the scroll itself is, effectively, inert. No prophecy can be scried nor knowledge obtained. While the scroll will not impart learning to the uninformed, nor will it afflict them in any adverse fashion. Visually, the scroll will appear to be awash in odd lettering and symbols. Those who know their astronomy often claim to recognize constellations in the patterns and connections, but such conjecture is impossible to further investigate since the very nature of this study necessitates unlearned subjects.
Group the Second: The Unguarded Intellects
It is this second group that realizes the greatest danger from attempting to read the scrolls. These are subjects who have an understanding of the nature of the Elder Scrolls and possess sufficient knowledge to actually read what is inscribed there. They have not, however, developed adequate discipline to stave off the mind-shattering effect of having a glimpse of infinity. These unfortunate souls are struck immediately, irrevocably, and completely blind. Such is the price for overreaching one's faculties. It bears mentioning, though, that with the blindness also comes a fragment of that hidden knowledge -- whether the future, the past, or the deep natures of being is dependent on the individual and their place in the greater spheres. But the knowledge does come.

Been playing beta whole weekend to see if it's worth a buy, and fell in love with it.
Going to pre-order it next month.

Hypothetically, but due to the special (well, I guess they're all special) nature of say, the dragon elder scroll in skyrim - you can read it and the only consequence is a brief party trip through time. Not to mention [sp]the canticle bark method in dawnguard during the quest "unseen visions"[/sp].

Any idea what faction you're going to play on? I've pretty much only played on daggerfall covenant, and a tiny bit on ebonheart pact.

I was planning to play on Aldmeri Dominion, since Khajiits are my favorite race. Eventually I'm going to have at least one character on each faction tho.

Well, I mean, since you are pre-ordering you can play in any faction you want as any race you want. You don't need the imperial edition, for that. I'm against pre-order bonuses, just reminding you of what they'll be.
Whats the name of that facemod for Oblivion? I'm replaying it and i'd rather not fight potatoes.

I believe it's oblivion character overhaul

Oh yeah that's true. I will probably just stick with Aldmeri Dominion anyway.

Well, my mods are gone thanks to some unfortunate computer work. So, what would you esteemed gentlemen and possibly even women suggest I download that isn't: japanese, enb, stupid, rapey, ridiculous, absurdly difficult, awful looking or just generally designed by and for people of incredibly low intelligence?

Sorry buddy, can't help you there...

You can try the mods at skyrimgems, I love to make my game look pretty as possible but it ends up my game being too unstable to play and can't even load or crash every 5 mins
A good place to start would be STEP. The mods they include in that are chosen so that they fit within the lore for the game and everything, and just fix bugs, improve badly put together things (like lockpicking and smithing), and generally improve the look and sound of the game.

After that I just have some armor mods and miscellaneous high res textures.
The factions make 0 sense, Altmer, Bosmer, and.... Khajiit. Yeah let's throw fucking Khajiit with the Aldmeri Dominion not to mention that Khajiit and Bosmer have been warring for centuries. Breton, Orsimer, and Redguard (yeah because the Orcs would work with the Redguard and Bretons that enslaved and warred with them, yep).... Nord, Dunmer, and Argonians. The fucking Argonians are in the same alliance as the Dunmer. Are you shitting me? Dunmer HATE the Argonians.
That's just the Alliances... there's a lot more shit that was posted but I haven't had the liberty to actually experience it.
There's also a city that's supposed to look like it's made of Glass and really high sky scraper towers when described in the books in the TES games but in TESO it's generic medieval city #2065923
Oh should I mention that in no TES books at all did it ever describe giant fucking anchors coming from the sky trying to drag Nirn into Coldharbour. I mean that'd be a pretty HUGE event to write in history but nope it's like it never existed as if Molag Bal wiped everyone's memories.
Why would Molag Bal even want to bring Nirn into Coldharbour? Coldharbour is basically just Nirn covered in blood
There is no time to wait then, better start doing it now.
I'm in the mood for some good lecture.
Go here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Elder_Scrolls
Uesp and Imperial library are the main place to go for all things Elder Scrolls.
After playing ESO for some time, I think it's not that bad. But with its LORE, SUBSCRIPTION FEE and OPTIMIZATION, I'm simply not interested in playing it. I'm an inconsistent player who demands Morrowind-like lore quality and plays on a notebook.

tesgeneral.com
just go here and read the whole thing (the skyrim guide tab and the unrecommended mod list in the faq). maybe even the "waifu/husbando" section too because it's not only for imaginary girlfriends but character model/texture mods also.
dragon combat overhaul is made by a retard but it's probably the only good dragon mod so far.
Also get ssme or the original sheson patch or whatever because that's a must have if you didn't already.
if you want to use either balanced magic or sperg you have to pick one, not both (sperg is better) and if you want to use asis with sperg you have to add all the sperg esps to the "modexclusions" list inside *skyrimfolder*\Data\SkyProc Patchers\ASIS\asis.ini
edit: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37216/?
Also this might be interesting. It's from the same deficient who made dragon combat overhaul. All his other mods are relatively shiny gems hidden in a mountain of diarrhea so maybe this is ok? I don't get anything other than that it's somewhat ambitious, tries to restore cut civil war content and makes you actually able to lose battles.
Tesgeneral made we want to punch someone in the face, preferably whoever was behind it. Everything else you lot had mentioned I'd already scraped off of Nexus or wouldn't touch (except HDR and SSME, so thank you for those.) Oh well.

I don't know where people are having performance problems. I'm playing it on HIGH on my LAPTOP
I don't know where people are having performance problems. I'm playing it on HIGH on my LAPTOP
I agree, I have a 2-3 year old PC and I'm having absolutely no trouble with optimization.
I had some frame issues on my laptop with high, I had to go to medium. Laptop has 660M.
And the cpu?
I haven't had any problems in performance with ESO, i5-750 with hd5750 on high(1280x1024 res though).
Is there a mod that adds dragons, but like, just a variety of more diverse dragons rather than the Eternal Dragon Lords of 'fuck-you-in-the-ass-dovakin'? I've got Bellyache's new dragon species and dragon combat overhaul, maybe I should just stick with those.
What dragon mods, if any, do you use and would you recommend them?
I wanted to replay Skyrim, but after about 10 minutes I grew bored of it. It really doesn't have the hook that previous TES games have. Whenever I replay Oblivion I can at least start having fun for a while and grow bored. Skyrim to me feels a little too formulaic. There's not much depth to it.
I suppose I'll just have to wait until Skywind and Skyblivion.
Skywind should be a blast. Most of skyrims failings really come from the shittiness of the quests, linear dungeons and NPC scaling. Skywind will probably play like how skyrim should have played.
Out of everything though I'm really waiting hard on DaggerXL and the high res sprites/assets. I'm not going to live in real life anymore once a modernized daggerfall finally comes to fruition :v:
For ESO beta are characters gonna be wiped after its over and the real game is out?

I'm excited for that and OpenMW. I would love to play an Elder Scrolls game on the Wii with Homebrew Channel. Daggerfall's combat would work with motion controls.

E-mail said that you keep your beta stuff.

Thank Christ. If I ever end up getting ESO, I never have to go through that shitty introduction ever again.
