This is a dumb question, but, are you using a mod manager? Are you using SKSE? If yes to the above, did you start the vanilla Skyrim launcher first so you can set your settings and then used SKSE?
I don't use mod manager except steam workshop
"[00:11] Background Loader: [Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp] Loading file [00:11] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2. The system cannot find the file specified> [03:09] Background Loader: finished" [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] Tried above, as long as Unofficial Patch is on load list checked to load, the skyrim wont load.
Then that means something is loading USKP but it can't find it. Put the unofficial patches higher up. BOSS should have done this but it doesn't work. Download this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13641475/BOSS.exe It's a user patched BOSS program which injects to the original BOSS executable. Rename the original boss file to xBoss.exe then drop the new boss file in. Someone made it and it actually... works and writes the proper load order. I couldn't find the site or I'd link it.
I don't use mod manager except steam workshop
I seriously suggest getting a mod manager of some type whether it be NMM or Mod Manager or something.
I seriously suggest getting a mod manager of some type whether it be NMM or Mod Manager or something.
But if he only uses steam workshop he can't manage much anyways. Problem is BOSS doesn't work for some people at all.
But if he only uses steam workshop he can't manage much anyways. Problem is BOSS doesn't work for some people at all.
With a mod manager he can still fiddle with his load order a lot better than he can when using the steam crap on the Skyrim launcher.
With a mod manager he can still fiddle with his load order a lot better than he can when using the steam crap on the Skyrim launcher.
Problem is the launcher seems like the master control. NMM does fuck all to actually control loadorder for me. I have to use the steam launcher to control load order manually.
Congratulations, you have just discovered the Thalmor subplot in Skyrim.
The Thalmor want to kill Talos, not Akatosh.
The Thalmor want to kill Talos, not Akatosh.
Technically, the Thalmor want to kill everything.
Are you sure this is a "patched" version? So I don't know how you're getting different results, it still is loading BOSS through it and getting the updated masterlist. You can use it or not, but it solved the problem of load order not being written properly.
I've been playing Morrowind again, this time with the Morrowind Graphics and Sound Overhaul. It's fantastic. Sort of. The ambient sounds are crap, but the graphics are just as good as TESO's. If not better. It's not quite Skyrim, but it definitely makes it more tolerable. I also never realized Vivec, Almalexia, Sotha Sil, and Dagoth Ur were all advisors to Indoril Nerevar, captain of the Dunmer army, during the Battle of Red Mountain. I also didn't know Oblivion takes place just five years after the end of Bloodmoon, 3E 429. So Jiub lived about eight years after his release, and then he died in the Oblivion Crisis. EDIT: Another glaring flaw in ESO lore... Alinor-turned-Generic should have a little something called Crystal-Like-Law... It doesn't. Good job, Shick. Actually, looking at the list of active vs. deactivated towers, they can't keep the universe going... And yet, according to MK's "canon" texts, it lasts well into the 9th era. Something stops the mass-deactivation we've been seeing since Arena. Isn't that supposed to be in c0da? EDIT 2: I actually don't get Shick and the Lore team at Zenimax Online. They pull certain things from Kirkbride's stuff, like Queen Ayrenn, but not others, like... Everything else. Weird. EDIT 3: Actually, hold the phone. Alinor the City isn't even in Online. Apparently. According to Shick... Have some dang consistency, man! WHAT IS GOING ON?
Speaking of broken games. I did absolutely nothing since I last played last night, but now skyrim won't load my saves. I can load some previous saves but they are like 30 minutes previous to my recent one. WHY
Skywind doesn't really look like an ashy wasteland tbh. It should be a lot more foggy, and the sky should be white, smoke from Red Mountain should be seen spiraling into the sky, etc.

It's too much of a depart from Morrowind, plus we've had plenty of grey skies and desaturated shit with Skyrim.

We're near a ton of bushfires, outside the air is smoky, the sky is completely white, but it's still sunny and hot. That's what Skywind should look like.
That reminds me I wish people died more... gruesomly. Like screamed or yelled out or begged or something. The most we get in skyrim is going "No I submit" and then "ugh... fine I'm ded." Because wiping out a camp in revenge would be much more intense when everyone isn't just like bored with dying.
Too much is really unsettling (see Manhunt) but we've had plenty of games that had some really fucked up deaths like Medieval and that did it well.
Does Skywind have an estimated ETA? the more I read about it and see of it, the more I'm getting hyped. I spent more time in Morrowind when I was younger than both Oblivion and Skyrim combined and, while I know there are mods that would fix every issue I have with it now, This redux of sorts is really exciting me.
Playing with Frostfall installed has gotten me interested in tents. It turns out Vikings had much more interesting tents than what the Nords have. Here's a reconstruction of a Viking tent from around 890 AD. [t]http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3309/3621784519_f5734ba94e_b.jpg[/t]

Why are they going through morrowind? [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] With an imperial city in the background???!?!??
Why are they going through morrowind? [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] With an imperial city in the background???!?!??
Dragonbreak's a hell of a drug man.
Technically, the Thalmor want to kill everything.
Don't the gods exist outside Nirn, and therefore Nirn's destruction wouldn't harm them? [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] Well, I guess the Aedra are linked with Nirn, so maybe they'd die.
Don't the gods exist outside Nirn, and therefore Nirn's destruction wouldn't harm them? [editline]12th February 2014[/editline] Well, I guess the Aedra are linked with Nirn, so maybe they'd die.
It was my understanding that unraveling Nirn would cause all the gods to cease to exist because they wouldn't have any worshipers. So Talos and the Divines would all but vanish, and there would be only Akatosh in the Void. Reason being, the Thalmor aren't trying to undo Nirn specifically, but all of Mundus, to free the world from static time. I suppose that would include all adjacent planes of oblivon as well. Not sure, though. Could be wrong.
