I am finally doing what I should have done before. YES, I USE "LORE UNFRIENDLY" MODS. SUCK IT.
Now, they aren't too far fetched (no cat girl ears, or lightsabers here), like replacing the Imperial Armor with Roman armor. I also have Flintlock Pistols, but IMO it isn't too far fetched with all the mages and alchemy that goes on you would think that eventually they would have discovered some sort of explosive material in their work and created a simple firearm based off of it.
Phew, feels good to get that off of my chest.
Though, my screenshot with my character in the Haytham Kenway robes probably gave it away...
There were flintlocks in Redguard, although the canon is questionable.
I can't think of anything that's explosive in TES.
Firesalts. Based on how the Dwarven Bolts enhanced with fire are made.
Also, Flame Atronachs 'sploding when they die.

Redguard had guns.
A large semi empty world might work for Skyrim. I mean a lot of people are roleplaying this game and it makes sense to setup a tent/camp in the middle of nowhere. Skyrim is about the same size as Oblivion, in my opinion Daggerfall is too large but a worldsize like Just Cause 2 would be awesome:

This picture is so wrong I don't even know where to start.....
Burnout Paradise bigger than World of Warcraft??? Ahahahah seriously try going from the top north of a WoW continent to the south on foot and tell me how long it takes.... In burnout paradise you can cross the whole map in less than a few minutes, and even if you imagine having a car in world of warcraft it would take at least 10 times longer...
Yes but in Burnout you drive extremely fast cars, so you travel much faster than you would walking on foot in WoW.
Look how wide the roads are in that burnout map and try to imagine the size of the roads in the Azeroth map.
Its very inaccurate.
How do you make a mistake, though? It's copy and paste.
I know there's some mods which don't come with an .ESP, so you need to fuck about manually removing textures files to uninstall, but that's rare enough for it to not be a concern for me.
Besides, NMM always crashes when checking for updates when I try to use it.
It's not just "whoops i dun goofed" mistakes but "i gotta juggle 3 different mods that install 3 versions of the same specific texture." Then extend that to meshes or dungeons placed on the exact same spot and you're fucked. "reinstall noob"
No man. NMM allaway.

I think Flame Atronachs explode on death because they're magic.
As for using Fire Salts on dwarven bolts, I think that's probably much to do with the magic, again. After all, you get the salts from atronachs.

Key words here.
No one really knows if it's magic or if it's the actual firesalts properties that cause the dwarven bolts to explode. There is no lore (that I currently can think of) that proves your hypothesis or mine.
EDIT:
There's also the oil vases in nordic ruins that "explode".
- snip - ah, yes, but that'd be consistent with the position he'd presumed when signing the covenant wrt accession/annexation into the Empire. -

That there are.

Hey guys, look at that lore-friendly prototype Dwemer Centurion!

Christ, someone should just drop the goddamn pretense and mod in shooter-style gun mechanics already - I need a good fix of muh visceral. Probably'd be marginally more engaging than the fighting mechanics as well.

Engine limitations and restrictions won't allow for proper shooting mechanics to be implemented. The best thing the modders can do is to modify existing weapons (staffs, bows, crossbows) to work in a way similar to guns.
If you want ~realistic~ assault rifles, the best thing I can give you is a link to something that handles horribly or a picture of Todd Howard.
a picture of Todd Howard.
I'll take that please.

Can anyone recommend some decent animation mods for both Oblivion and Skyrim? (also what's the link for that redone Oblivion face mod?)

At first glance i honestly thought this was TESO
Well, after a week or so of working perfectly fine. Skyrim's just gone and decided it wants to crash randomly. AGAIN. I think I'm just going to stop trying to play this game at this point.
Fucking Bethesda.

Why is he using a 4:3 resolution on a 16:9 monitor?
I don't think that is a 16:9 monitor, the outer edges are speakers or a border, you can see the edge on the left side.
I think its a TV as well.

The black bars on the sides look raised, I'm going to guess that this is actually a TV being used as a monitor and those are the TV's speakers. The image shown does look to be in proper 16:9 ratio (it sure as hell isn't 4:3)

I think its a 4:3 monitor with giant speakers glued to the side.

Here's one for Skyrim:

That look, I think I may need to lie down for a bit.
How good is SkyRe?

Looking at it, I'd say it's probably closer to 25mi², and that might be pushing it. So yeah, whoever created that image dun goof'd, likely confusing 200 miles worth of road for 200mi².
