wait guys.... so if all races are inspired by past civilizations.. that would mean [sp]nords are scandinavians/vikings?[/sp] oh my god no way [editline]2nd July 2013[/editline] seriously though what would bretons be? brits?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breton_people Bretons.
I remember there was a mod for skyrim that let you equip a torch or something to summon a person that let you use dialogue to customize things like light levels at night, color saturation, etc. but I can't remember what it was called. Anyone know?
I guess visuals and bug fixes are fine but I really think a game should be experienced the way it was made the first time unless it's unplayable or really bad, but I guess that makes me sound stupid :v:
That's exactly what i want to do. But with the unreasonable bugs fixed and the weird-ass faces fixed. Speaking of. Wasn't there just a new mod that made Oblivion faces look closer to Skyrim faces... as in more like... faces.
Gents, there's a fucking massive difference between chinese and japanese... well... there's a difference. About the same amount of difference between the welsh and the USA. Anyway. Akavir is surely inspired by china (and a few nearby countries such as thailand or korea) japan. Akaviri races: Tiger, snake, monkey, snow demon, dragons (there are two kinds of dragons apparently) . Whilst japan does have monkeys and it's own ideas on snow demons and dragons, these things are more associated with chinese mythology. Naming schemes are very un-japanese. Plus it's realy fucking hard to take these races in a samurai outfit seriously. i might have mentioned it before, but i think bethesda should try hard to avoid branding a specific culture as almost exactly the same as a real world culture. However they should use examples from real world cultures because those things are proven to work. For example the imperials have been too 'roman'. I'd like a roman influence but there must be some originality to it. the muscle breastplate for instance. Made famous by greeks and romans. It's all well and good that they're in the game, being a tried and proven armour design, but must it be accompanied by a Roman/greek skirt, Roman/greek sandals, Roman/greek helmet and a poorly stylised roman/greek sword? This is of course all worn by a man with a Latin name and latin rank. It doesn't need to be (shouldn't be) ALL one culture. I mean redguards could borrow from carthage, australian aboriginies , british/french colonialism and persia. Argonians could be Indonesian Egyptian native-americans or something else that's totaly absurd and tribe specific.
Try playing a TES game that's not Skyrim problem solved

I can't decide on a name for my Nord, here's what I've come up with so far: Vaultr Grungar Boring Nord Character#6: Electric Boogaloo Edition or Rock-shaft McFistycuffs this is harder than I thought it would be
No race in TES is an exact 1 to 1 ripoff of a real life nation, I was just saying by HIS logic Dunmer fit better then altmer.
Except imperials. Imperials are like 100% roman empire.

Also started an Alexander the Great run. Next up is Fate/zero Caster, Breton for frenchness, or Altmer for the fact I can make them look ugly as fuck with no effort? Agree= Breton Disagree= Altmer

I play almost always as a mage, what magic mods would you guys recommend? I've seen Forgotten Magic, Mighty Magick and Midas Magic but which magic mod do you think is the best? Don't wanna be overwhelmed by overpowered spells or lots of redundant flashy spells
Then I suggest you keep away from those Apocolypse Spells mods, for very obvious reasons. On the subject of suggesting spell mods, its pretty uncommon (not rare, by any means) to find a decent one. I'll try looking for one. Gents, any suggestions?
God dayum..
Suddenly Bethesda doesn't seem so creative.
Come on, how can you guys not know who Bretons are? Its a region in France; Brittany. Maybe Americans just aren't knowledgeable about European ethic groups.
What's the matter, somebody stole your sweetr.... BAM
I challenged myself to make a whole custom race to learn to use the CK and introduce myself to skyrim modding. It was a horrible experience full of pain and suffering (kind of like my whole modding career) but I loved it! That's surprisingly good.
Looks like all you did was stretch the Khajiit's ears back. But they do look like rabbits.
Looks like all you did was stretch the Khajiit's ears back. But they do look like rabbits.
Even if that were true (spoiler: it's not. very much not.) you have no idea of the loops you have to jump throught just to make something like that, particularly if you've never made a custom head for skyrim before.
God dayum..
What mod is that?
