The problem with all gold/gambling based hero designs is that if you choose to ignore the spells which cost gold and just go for item stacking, you have a carry who might have twice/thrice the GPM of other heroes so they'll be 6slotted 35 minutes in, which is likely to be just impossibly hard to stop.
Though as the video narrator said, Gambler seems like he'd be enormous amounts of fun to play.
