So found out to my surprise there's more battle themes. Only one I can find right away but it's much better.

I wouldn't mind a shirtless customization for females similar to males, but this shit is just weird as fuck now.

Yeah, age boost for the US here we come.
So apparently there's supposed major spoilers going around about the game that I saw last night. I'm talking vital plot revelations. Don't read if you actually care for the plot.
[sp]Humanity died. Everyone onboard the Neo Los Angeles are basically the equivalent of replicants, human replicas that aren't technically human. There's no human controller operating them, which means they shouldn't be able to go around at all but seem to be doing so on their own. What's more, apparently they have access to what can be considered a full-blown and genuine cloning technology that the aliens seek. The game also leaves itself off on a major sequel hook with the fact that the second alien race hasn't arrived yet but are on their way.[/sp]

Pretty much the easiest fix. This was already discussed anyways. No need to bring it back, we know there is pretty revealing clothing in the game and we know why it's there.
Gameplay is looking great. I guess you can consider this spoilers, but its really just the first 28 minutes of the game. It's also Japanese n shit.

If you can understand Japanese there are spoilers.
They very blatantly mention that Shulk is the president of the United States now.

Campaign Slogan: 'Yeah, I feeling good - about the future fiscal policies'

Man, I wish I could rename the title of this thread.

Never pegged Shulk as much of a political leader. If anything I'd have pegged him as the head of the space program or at most the administrator behind BLADE.

You sure that's real? I saw that leaked on 2Chan MONTHS ago.
Meanwhile, there's the spoiler that Elma is actually [sp]a reptilian[/sp], complete with screenshots as proof.

I probably should've said to take it with a grain of salt then, because it's hard to tell what's real and fake with the clusterfuck of info going around if people take their time and effort to bullshit.
man the spoilers are piling up faster then I thought, I guess I should probably not frequent this thread for a bit.
I hope the local release isen't too far away I'm expecting maybe October at earlyest
Further playtime- boy this game is going to make people mad.
This is a offline MMO, this is a offline MMO, THIS IS A OFFLINE MMO
I'm saying this over and over to make sure it sticks. The games flow is... odd, but if you hate sidequests skip this game do not bother. The way the game works is you basically accept a bunch of sidequests and you run out to get 20 bear asses or whatever it has in store for you. Only after completing a certain amount does the next story mission unlock. The game's pacing as a result is... unfortunately slow. I don't see this getting talked about anywhere else so I figured I should give fair warning now while I can.
Also, according to my friend who's beaten the game there is no NG+ [sp]instead it drops you back in BLADE HQ and you keep playing from there.[/sp] (Not really spoilers but just for those feeling extra touchy).
Also there's cute little artwork signs all over the HQ, a favorite of mine I can't find a picture of is a Welcome sign typed up in English but they misspelled "Welcome". It's great.
I might be stretching it a bit too much in my head but remember what Aonuma said about tasks in Zelda U in an interview?
They are trying to make them follow the player's lifestyle. If you have a little bit of free time, you can do this, save and come back later. In a way, you progress at a pace that is comfortable to you and you're always finishing that said task within that time frame (I think he said 10-30 mins was what most smaller tasks would be like), especially since the game is massive. Same would work with X.
Now whether or not Monolith Soft is helping with Zelda U is now known so might be just me looking a bit too much into this with a tired mind.
I do find odd that main missions are stuck behind sidequests. I'd understand some sidequests required to continue (like scavenging for X item to fuel a machine) but it's a weird decision...

Full version of this song is amazing.
There's more of the full OST on this guy's channel too.
I don't mind the sidequests thing either, that just makes me remember Saints Row 2 with how you had to do a bunch of random shit to play the next story mission.
I dunno about that. If it was just "these sidequests will give you stuff that'll power you up so the later story missions aren't too hard, but you can choose not to do them" it would be fine.
But I'm not so hot on the notion of gating story missions behind a bunch of generic ones since it might come across as filler. I'm more comfortable with choosing to do things because it's convenient for me rather than having to do things because I can't have any pudding if I don't eat my meat, since that gives off the impression of it being a chore. And if there's anything a game should feel like, especially a game that's a sequel to Xenoblade Sodding Chronicles, it should NOT feel like a chore.
Hopefully the rest of it is fine, though.
I just beat the first Xenoblade, and oh man, what a powerful adventure! I don't think I've ever gotten so attached to a story and its characters before.
I hope Xenoblade X comes out here soon.
And here's hoping the characters there are similarly endearing. We already have a Nopon companion in the form of Tatsu/Satata, so that's already a start, though I don't know how well Cross will work as trousers.
Speaking of which, do they allow you to customize his starting trousers, or is it mostly finding new trousers to put on while you're wearing him?
This isn't me saying avoid the game, and I'm talking as someone who played Xenogears, a little bit of Saga and loved Xenoblade but... this game may be a pass when it comes stateside.
Finished it a few days ago and won't go into spoilers but it's just kind of weak after the initial "this is so cool" wears off. It amazes me that this is supposed to be the spiritual successor to Shulks game because it feels like a big swing and a miss by the end of it. The characters are all super weak and generic and it takes a HUGE fucking hit by making your character a silent protagonist. Elma is the real main character and even then she's as interesting as cardboard.
One of the biggest problems I had is you get the mech way too early and the game transforms into "set waypoint and just fly there then fly back." Exploring itself isn't terribly fun either seeing as the level 99 (just a random number) monsters are all openly hostile for the most part making most of the world into a giant stealth mission.
Man I don't know, I feel like I'd ramble on for awhile more but haven't slept in a couple days. I just wanted to give a fair warning to those excited to TRY and temper expectations a little bit. I'm just upset that the plot is trash tier. Look into the game more when the english version gets closer before you buy it.
It's here guys, this thread should have some life kickstarted back into it perhaps?
Picking it up today.
Wanted to buy this all of a sudden, found the last special edition at Best Buy, after 4+ hours of downloading/installing the data packs, got to play for an hour.
IT'S AWESOME. Love the sense of scale.
To the translations credit Elma sounds a lot more alive here. I'm holding out hope that the english translation improves on story beats (and who knows maybe I'll like it more now that I can finally fully understand it)
Jesus, I gotta download 15GB to improve the loading on the physical version?!
I see the translators had some fun here and there, lots of funny quips from random NPCs. They snuck a meme or two in as well.
Is it possible to use the map/fast travel without the gamepad? I find the pro controller much more comfortable (and I dont have to charge it every couple hours) but the practicality of the gamepad features make the pro not really worth using.
Other than that small complaint I've been having a great time, I've spent most of my 7 hours of playtime just fucking around and exploring, and I haven't even scratched the surface of all the areas to explore.
