Please don't make a separate thread for it. It always just stagnates and dies. This thread gets barely any posts as it is. Also, there needs to be some strict rules so that people don't just sit on their turns forever.
Stricten the rules to you have a year in five days, if you don't complete in 5 days we take the previous save. Standardised tileset, such as a square ASCII one (or we could bundle it as a zip containing the entire game - ideally the LNP or something) some baseline rules about danger rooms and such and iunno, I'll leave it to greater minds.
If it's to be done in this thread, we'd want a basic post format so that it's easy to find. The first post would need a contents to each persons year and such, and each post would need to link to the first, previous and next part, in addition to each season of the year if it's in parts. If it's successful, I'm sure Liem or a mod such as Orkel would be so kind as to edit OP to include it. If it's a failure, we can hide it in this thread and blame Swebonny.
I'm so fucking sick of vile forces of darkness. I just want to become the capital, so I need the caravan to come so I can gift them shit. But I've been slowly losing people to accidents during this (being on the drawbridge when it opens, somehow being killed by a badger while I lock up) and it seems whenever any sort of caravan fucking comes to the fort the invasion triggers, killing them instantly.

There's over a hundred of the fuckers and I just murdered forty of them and they ran off and I know they'll be back in a week.
[QUOTE=Masterofstars;44713530]They don't look silly, they just can't be engraved. Which [I]sucks.[/I][/QUOTE]
The solution, to create something that allows for engraving, involves the lifeblood of industry combined with the fury of the rivers.
One of my dwarves sustained a mysterious spinal injury. Not a single enemy in sight, so I guess he just fucked it up lifting stuff or something. How do I go about making him better? He sustained a middle spine injury, and is currently resting in the dormitory. I'm about to designate a hospital once an area has been cleared.

Nothing you can do for him. Wall him up/atom smash him.

Keep on murdering them then when they come back. Violence is the hygiene of the world.

Oh and leave the corpses out to litter the landscape as a warning.

Evey time I see one fail is because the player list and turn time are too long. It really needs to move quick, say a few hours per turn, and no definite order.

They're littering the world because my lazy ass haulers would rather drown themselves in a murky pool than work.

If someone comes up with a basic format I have no problem editing something into the op.
I actually forget I'm the one who made this version of the thread a lot of the time..
TBH we shouldn't make the entire turnlist immediately. We should keep 3 names listed and once a player finishes a turn a new person can volunteer to fill in the 3rd spot on the list.
Kobold thief fucking up my shit moments after purchasing an anvil to make weapons :c
Though tbh it's my fault for not getting the dogs to do something useful with their miserable lives and guard, rather than shagging in the meeting hall.
Is it bad that I gave both of my champions over 30 war dogs each?
My logic is that the dogs act as a meatshield while the champion fucks up the goblins.

Potentially genius, potentially fortress destroying.
The dogs will help with combat and act as meatshields, correct, but it is possible that if enough die you'll have a beserk legendary 5+ dwarf running around deciding to enact vengeance. Or you might get lucky and he ends up totally desensitised, a grim warrior who slaughters entire raids.
Most likely the former. It's Dwarf Fortress afterall.
So out of curiosity I decided to see how long it would take a giant sperm whale zombie to die from being on fire in arena.
Its been 20 minutes. They ran over all the other corpses and what I'm assuming is the intense heat coming off of them caused the corpses to EXPLODE.
[editline]3rd May 2014[/editline]
Oh god they are getting SCARS while they are burning. This is hilarious.
[editline]3rd May 2014[/editline]
I've been doing testing on the corpse explosion thing and if a creature engages the whale or stays under it long enough it catches fire and then seems to explode from the heat. The whales are STILL burning and are actually developing scars from the burning as they burn.
[editline]3rd May 2014[/editline]
Oh god its making the elephants I send after it explode on contact basically which causes the elephants and creatures around it to get caught in its boiling blood.
I think this is the most dwarf fortress thing ever conceived.
I now want a flaming zombie sperm whale as a fort defence
Oh god the bigger corpses it ignites act like fucking bombs holy shit.
I tested an ettin corpse that the whale killed and set on fire by putting an elf next to it.
The elf MELTED from the ambient heat and then the ettin exploded into boiling blood killing the elf. The whale wasn't even close to the corpse anymore it just got it THAT hot from contact with it.
[editline]3rd May 2014[/editline]
OH GOD IT CAUSES A CHAIN REACTION, NOW THE ELF CORPSE IS ON FIRE AND ABOUT TO EXPLODE.
This makes FB syndromes look tame. It's like getting GBS from SS13 but with more fire.
[editline]3rd May 2014[/editline]
It literally vaporizes blood that it walks on causing it to explode in puffs of boiling blood. Any blood that lands on it from its fresh kills starts to boil and then explode off of it in more clouds of boiling blood. Since the whale itself is perpetually bleeding occasional spurts of its own boiling blood appear randomly.

Now that you've tested it in the arena... weaponize it.
Time to start settling on terrifying oceans.
This is the most metal thing I have ever heard. This needs to go into the internet history books, just like boat murdered. and that ONE GUY who we are obligated not to talk about.
You know the one. And if you dont, you'll look it up to find out and then suddenly agree.
Sort of hard to look it up when there's nothing to look up besides "guy we're obligated not to talk about"
I'm assuming he's talking about that guy who modded in vaginas and dicks and then went around elf villages raping elf children to death, as the dicks had the grab tag so they could just rip and tear.. yeah.

Ryugi played Dwarf Fortress?

Oh god, why did you have to remind me of that guy... I blocked that from my memory you fuck!
"I grabbed her 'organ' with my 'organ' and held it until she bled to death" or something, I can't remember the exact words.
I need to know.

jesus
that's terrifying, even by DF standards
I want to try out this game for once, but the ASCII art is a little jarring to me. What graphic sets would you recommend?
You guys mind if I join in on the succession fort, when the new version is released?
I would be totally into that.
