So remember that necromancer siege with the zombie unicorns? Well I got some migrants and I was hurting for dwarfpower so I sent out my (untrained and unarmored) military to try and clear a path. In the end, every single body part was still, finally. Everything was pulverized. However I ended up with only 15 dwarves. And then a second necromancer came along in two months. Fuck serene biomes, worse than sinister.

Fuck serene biomes, worse than sinister.[/QUOTE] First Serene fortress I had, a unicorn wandered into my fortress right when I started it up and was digging the beginnings of workshops and stockpiles, and it IMMEDIATELY killed three of my dwarves for no reason. Fuck unicorns.
Unicorns are the new elephant/carp when it comes to hilariously efficient dwarf slaughtering machines
Three forgotten beasts just bum-rushed up my main staircase. Fortunately my 2 masons were able to dam up the entrance, but now my magma forges, WHICH I HAD LITERALLY JUST GIVEN THE ORDER TO FIRE UP, are inaccessible, as well as the caverns, my only source of wood what with the necromancer siege outside. Fortunately we have some [sp]candy[/sp] in the stone hoard, so I can make some nice gear. I'm thinking of going danger room, I'm just tired of cowering in here and having every migrant wave get slaughtered on the way in.

I plan on pushing the limits of how many different civs I can have, current world I am testing that with has close to 30 different sentient civs any suggestions for more?
Gave up on the serene game, generated a Large size world(on my atom powered netbook, I might add), think I'm going to build a fortress suspended above a volcano.

Pumped for new emotion mechanics. Dwarf fortress is going to become much much much more fun to watch, especially when a dwarf goes insane and starts screaming laughter in the hallways and tearing peoples heads off.
On that note, I hope berserk dwarves say random crazy things "I AM THE GOBLIN KING AHEHAHEHAHEHAHUEHAHEUAHEU"

I never started using mods so I'll be fine for the update *smugface*
The main appeal of this update isn't even fortress mode though. I'd download it just to try out the changes to adventure.
I'm looking forward to making a whole bunch of simple little outpost forts to scatter throughout the world to find in adventure mode
