It's pretty funny when two people with the same profession get in a fight because it just looks like one guy is fighting himself. I had 2 captains of the guard playing grab-ass while I slaughtered everyone.
I also like how you can walk into a crowded room, attack someone and then people will just scatter and randomly start attacking each other.
Is there a button to properly inspect something? I saw Joel do it in his stream.
Like, I can press "L" to look around, but I'd like to be able to inspect what I'm hovering over.
Couldn't find it in the keybindings.

I'm pretty sure you can just hit enter on specific things to bring up a new menu with the option to inspect being shown.

Oh god I just met my old adventurer crab in this fort and he's now joining me on my adventures, he's also got sandals for every appendage he walks upon.
I think it's hilarious how overpowered maces are due to the passing out mechanic immediately after being hit. Anyway, I'm currently just knocking people out at the top of towers and then jumping at them to send them flying off. It's pretty hilarious :v

It's a known bug. When you get to the calendar it simulates two weeks of the new world in real time.
So a beekeeper insulted me after I wanted to have is knife and after a short brawl he draws a weapon and tries to cut me. In retaliation I cut off both his hands and throw him across the tavern, apparantly he had a quarrel with some other villager because a random axeman pulls out a dress and starts to beat up the said beekeeper with a shark leather dress.

Go into raw/objects.
Open:
inorganic_stone_layer
inorganic_stone_mineral
inorganic_stone_soil
in notepad++ or similar
Replace every instance (22/23 I believe) of [AQUIFER] with (AQUIFER).
That disables it. To re enable, swap (AQUIFER) with [AQUIFER]
As you are using notepad++ or similar, it can all be done in a few clicks with the replace all in all open files command.
The first fresh-faced and hopeful immigrants have arrived at Silverytreasures while I was getting the workshops going.

Her and her 18-year-old husband brought their 3-year-old son and his pet goat. She's a potash maker, he's a fisher. There's a river nearby, so that may work out in the longer term, but more importantly, these two have combat skills my other dwarves don't.
Shortly after they arrived, two of the dogs had a litter of three puppies each, and there's an extra kitten running around now. Might need to expand the meeting area when the next wave of migrants arrives.
Two of my dwarves have a grudge with each other for no apparent reason, while two others are lovers already. Everybody's pretty content as they dig out the early stages of what will surely become the next long-lived mountainhome of the Turquoise Cat-Whips! Of course, the settlement's just reached its first autumn, and they only just got beds made, but the food and alcohol supply is being kept going by a garden and I've got a bookkeeper and manager set up in offices, so things are looking up.
I've even managed to craft an exceptional wooden wheelbarrow. :v:

what do you need to do to update a square tileset e.g jolly bastion to work with the new version? Or can I just run with the 34.11 version of it?

mostly just:
1) In /data/init/init.txt
[code]
replace:
[FONT:curses_640x300.png]
with:
[FONT:WHATEVER_YOU_WANT.png]
optionally replace [FULLFONT] as well
make sure it's set to: [GRAPHICS:NO]
also change whatever settings you want

2) copy over colors.txt
3) put the png you specified in step 1 into "/data/art/*.png"
4) merge all of differences in d_init.txt
so this morning, every time I load my save and resume the game it crashes within a few seconds... I hope my save isn't screwed
