Had a few tries at Adventure most since Dwarf Therapist isn't updated yet. My first was a dwarf who yelled to an empty room and crashed the game. My second was another dwarf who wandered the underground tunnels, killed a Troglodyte, bragged about it to four other Troglodytes, and died of thirst.
My last was a human who managed to get out of his starting building and learn of a few nasties in a lair. I managed to eat and drink, find some Bear recruits(?) killing Boars, and rest once before accidentally setting out while it was still night. When I reached the lair it was night again and I thought I should rest, so I went to a nearby Elven settlement and chased after some elves before in desperation yelling out to them when they weren't in range and crashing the game.
If there weren't so many random crashes I might be getting used to this.

Happened to me too. I fixed it by retiring and immediately unretiring my fort. I'm assuming it'll also work for Adventure mode if that's what you're in.
Did give me the unfortunate side-effect of turning into a mountainhome though, so watch out for that.
I ask the local guards to join my adventure, then they agree to join my insurrection but as soon as I bite the lord they kill me.

any of you guys who are good with modding who can give me a brief tutorial on how to make any creature playable in adventure?
Just played DF for the first time since 2010.
Started Adventure Mode as human wrestler, walked out of the starting building and saw some Goblin bandits hassling a human farmer. So I pick up a rock and hucked it at one of em. Fracture one's ankle, threw another rock and struck him in the head and he gives in to pain. Walked over there and grabbed the other one by the neck and punched him in the head until it exploded. I then butchered him and threw the organs of that guy at the first guy until he died. Then I wandered around, got lost, killed a gazelle, threw the mangled corpse at another gazelle, and then I drowned in a river. 10/10
Is it common for a demon from hell to lead Goblins?
Anyone have good adv params for generating a desert/wasteland world with a little population of nonhostile beings? I tried setting one up, but too many issues.
This update just makes me feel like shit. I hunt down beasts but they don't even harm anyone and they just beg for mercy as I stab and slash at them. One of them managed to fight back and cleave off my cheek now I think I'm the horrid monster.

I'm going through a Fortress that had Dwarves and Goblins, and they've descended into a bloody civil war, and are murdering the shit out of each other and everyone's also trying to kill me too. I've cleaved off so many heads now I'm ensuring no one gets out alive at this point.
What the hell, I just got followed by a few soldiers, they were alarmed by me holding my weapons, so I holster them. "Hello Hathur. You must yield!", and they all holstered their weapons and punched me unconscious...

So uh... after shouting at my deity crashed the game, I started a new game.
The first thing that happens is something collapsing instantly, disfiguring some elves. Right after that, there were announcements of elves being consumed by magma, what the fuck.

go into entity tab, add creature, add appropriate token
I've been following this thread but haven't even played DF14 yet. I also realised I've never even played Adventurer mode before. Time to change that.

Didn't account for the elephant falling out of one and turning my woodchopper dwarf into pasta
Or the other one getting crushed by his own tree
And then drowning in the river next to it
Started a new fortress and before the first season ended, 1 dwarf died crushed by a tree, one got drowned and another one went missing.

You can only butcher them on the ground, so drop the corpse and then do x-b
