Does anyone else get crashes while trying to do a demi-god start?
I started an adventure as a cyclops since the top post cleared up how to play as other creatures.
I spawned in the middle of a dwarven mine, stabbed a dwarf in the head with a spear, threw that into another one's lung, and then punched the third and final one in the immediate area across the room which resulted in him dying on impact with the other wall.
I fucking love this so much. I can apparently bite a dwarf's entire lower body off too.
I now started as a Bronze Colosseus.
I am now standing the middle of the wilderness in pitch black night giggling as bogeymen try and fail to harm me, I cannot drown, and I have jumped from the top of a high tree and despite red text blaring up telling me how my legs took the full force of the impact I got absolutely no injuries.
Now this is god mode.
Dual-wielding melee weapons is possible, one for each hand and you have the option to use them in combat

oh, i guess should play adventure mode more

The first of a mighty army! Never did play with necromancers before, should be fun.
Edit:
Oh Jesus, this is so overpowering. I walked into town, killing and reanimated a woodcutter, and soon enough my zombie army is in the dozens. I know necromancy isn't new but damn I wish I'd played with this earlier.

Really enjoying the new dialogue as well. Makes it a little more comedic.

I tried traveling to another town and alllll the corpses came with me. Instantaneous fun everywhere for everyone!
So has the slow calendar bug on large worlds been fixed in this update or is it still ultrafucked?
I've seen a couple of gameplay-videos with the button-prompts on the right side of the screen, how do I get it to look like that?
I'm playing DF2014 vanilla with a tileset and I can't remember all of the keybinds so it's kind of annoying to press ? every few minutes or so.
Also there's a bowman who does nothing else but try to grab a wall and fail at it constantly. He falls on his ass, gets up and tries it again. I have ~500 lines of this in my a-log now. :v:
press [tab] a few times to cycle through the view types
some of them have an overview map, some of them have a list of basic keybindings, etc

This goddess seems pretty bipolar. Also is there a way to generate the background again? (This is the background text.) Like I can hit r to create a new name, and +- to go between locally important and peasant, but i am wondering if there is a way to regen the background created for the locally important option...
Twice I've tried starting in a fortress but starved before I could find my way out. Now I exclusively do hillocks or human settlements.
haha oh man i just created the character and when i check my equipment i realized i forgot to do the right column of skills, and only did the left one.. whelp this should be a pretty interesting playthrough.
Do any mods work on the new version? I've been collecting skins from my enemies* in Adventure Mode, and I want to make something from them. Also, bones. Really I just want some use for all the skins I've been getting, like a cape.
(*failed attempts at adventuring parties).

Dragons are fun because you can fly and breathe fire, it's stupidly OP
but i've found Stranglers to be the most fun, because you get 4 arms. Wrestling gets nuts when you have 4 arms and like 5 sets of teeth
so, migrants show up, one mason in a strange mood, claims a masons workshop, proceeds to craft "Tharith Vumom, "The Hurricane of Savants", a kaolinite coffin", and then turns into a miner in an ecstatic mood.
wat
perhaps creation of the artifact was so fucking difficult he ended up only wanting to ever break rock into pieces afterwards.
Is there any way I can make myself become a necromancer in adventure mode, and still be able to choose my stats? I want to be able to throw animated hands to choke people
I stumbled across a dark fortress except I can't get to it because the FPS fucking tanks.
I got my necromancer with a million skeletons to take over a town and retire only for her to instantly give it up now she just stays in the keep with her skeletons talking about how she stop ruling :(

Oh you could put stuff on the right side too? I thought they change according to the skills on the left and items.
Well I'm boned.
Hey guys is the starter pack updated for 40.03 yet?
Creatures can now be gay.
Woo.

The whole right side are learned skills you can put points into :P
I always choose one main skill like axes, put a good number of points into dodging, and some into fighting because I think that raises your overall chance to hit(?). Works decent, being a demigod gives you a ton of points to throw around and I would recommend that especially for anyone just starting out in adv mode.
Me and my friend have been using this legends viewer to look through this one worlds history and it's pretty interesting. There is a human settlement which is almost completely built from outcasts of like 10 different races.
1281 Humans
325 Chickens
67 Goblin Outcasts
50 Water Buffalos
37 Amphibian Man Outcasts
19 Olm Man Outcasts
17 Serpent Man Outcasts
17 Human Outcasts
16 Goblins
13 Dwarf Outcasts
1 Troll Outcasts
1 Troglodyte Outcasts
There is apparently a huge number of constructions made in this town, I'm curious to see what the place is like.

invest till you're a master wrestler, but a few points into biting, put 5 final points into dodging
you are now unstoppable
I can't make head nor tail of editing raws to allow me to play different races in adventure mode. I just can't seem how to figure out how to make necromancers playable.
I've tried searching the wikis, but I'm a total amateur when it comes to things like this. Can anyone shed some light on the situation?
Necromancers aren't a race. In order to become a necromancer in Adventure mode you have to find a tome of life and death and read it. They're usually found in necromancer towers. Also make sure to put 1 point in reading if you're going to do this, because otherwise you won't be able to read it.
So, in theory, could I give my adventurer the tome through the raws to do the same thing?
Well for races, what you're gonna wanna do is open a .raw called Entity_Default.txt and add
[ENTITY:-insertwhateverhere-]
[INDIV_CONTROLLABLE]
[CREATURE:WhateverCreatureName]
and just copy the biome tags from the dwarf section
you can put as many creatures as you want under that new entity, tho im not sure how you make it so you start off as one of those weird non-races, like undead/demons/necromancers/werebeasts.

oh jesus i just realized you can add it to the starting gear
How would you add it to the starting gear? :v:

Seriously, sorry for all the questions. I just can't make any sense out of the wiki.
