The planter's wife threw a tantrum because he was suffering in the jail Now she's jailed for 200 days for killing the fort's only cow, beating up one of the doctors and destroying the kitchen (and she also got a good beating from the guards) The planter still has 50 or so days left at this point so his wife is gonna stay in after he's out, gonna save and continue tomorrow

and then while the wife's in prison her husband gets upset over her being in jail and the cycle will continue :v:

Is there a really good guide on playing Dwarf Fortress? I would love to get into it. Also, is there an Android port? I'm getting a Shield Tablet and would love to play it on the go. Getting a keyboard for it too.

The planter went stark raving mad only 2 days before his sentence ended and after release he's just running around naked while slowly starving to death. Worst life ever. [editline]27th October 2014[/editline] I built him a tomb with a gold sarcophagus surrounded by golden statues.

The amount of stressed out dwarves has been steadily decreasing, only about 5-10 out of ~100 left. Mainly because they either killed eachother off in tantrum fights and because brave immigrants have been replenishing the sane population. [editline]27th October 2014[/editline] The planter's metalcrafter wife is also harrowed, so she'll be buried with him in the same tomb. [editline]27th October 2014[/editline] There was a small gang fight in my fort, 10 dwarves killed eachother because one of them killed another, so it was a cycle of "I will avenge his death!" and once he killed the killer another dwarf would go "I must have revenge!" and he killed the killer's killer etc I really need to make that brain mod again as every death so far has been from punches to the head

I've created death chambers for tantruming dwarves. Once they start being dicks they will be chained inside the chamber by the guards and the door will be locked forever to starve them to death. Nobody will ever find the corpses so nobody will ever grieve their deaths, and they won't get released back outside to tantrum and kill more dwarves as would be the case in a normal prison sentence. Two are in use at the moment. Also I accidentally accused a giant cave spider of a doctor's tantrum damages, hopefully my guard won't be dumb enough to go and catch it in the caverns.

I've never suffered an FPS death, but I've hit a lot of boredom deaths. Usually I'll start a new fort to try something cool, and then just never go back to the old fort.

Even with 150 dwarves on my tablet I never got less than 15 fps in the old version. In the new version I get 5 fps with 6 dwarves.

There are still pathfinding bugs which cause the fps to plummet mid to lategame. Also remember that DF2014 simulates the entire planet in the background, from the decay of a random villager's sock to Urist's lopped off toe in an battle of 2,000 soldiers to the weather and clouds and rainfall, while you play fort mode so the base FPS is lower than in DF2012 by default. [editline]28th October 2014[/editline] And DFhack is not out yet for the new version, wait for that. It includes commands like removing all the splatters of various liquids (which can go in the tens of thousands lategame) and also removing junk like forbidden goblin socks in the middle of the field. I remember having very playable FPS in the past when doing regular clean-ups of the map using DFhack.

I've tried to play DF before and I couldn't get into it. Going to get PeridexisErrant's Dwarf Fortress Starter Pack. What mode should I play?

Does the new version fix all the "It is terrifying." and so forth?
