I managed to corner a Orc Master Sneak.
He killed seven of my machetebolds and ran off missing a few teeth and fingers.

I was farming ore around a spawn of those one time in Burning Crusade. It took me like three hours to get all I needed. By the time I got done I was yelling in my guild's OOC chat - since /guild was in character, RP guilds are fun - about taking all of their candles out of spite. I actually concluded the farming session with my character walking into the guild hall, covered in blood and carrying a ton of candles. He made a comment about not even wanting them at first, and just wandered towards the cleaning area.

I miss my old WoW RP days. Of course I played on private servers to get away from all the trolls and dickbags, but whatever.

Back in Burning Crusade and towards the end of Wrath of the Lich King, my server (Sentinels) was a pretty good place for RP. By the end of Cataclysm most of it had died, though. There are still spots of RP here and there, a bit more with Pandaria providing plenty of scenic places to sit, but what few people are still around are mostly interested in PvE or PvP. I really miss the old days, but I can't deny there were a lot of shitty things about BC. I think being the player I am now, I wouldn't mind the grinds as much though.
But, uhh... sorry I'm getting way off topic. World of Warcraft is one of my insta-nostalgia buttons. On the topic of Kobold Fortress; I still remember my first one. Within the first year or so I got attacked by a thunder bird with basically no preparation whatsoever. I had no military, and it managed to get inside before I could close my gate. In extreme desperation I drafted every single kobold and had them dogpile onto the thing. It took like an ingame week, but they actually managed to bite, choke, scratch it to death. I've never underestimated kobolds since.

I used to play on Scarshield Legion and Turalyon. Always wanted to RP a bit, but I was always creating new characters and such.
I almost wish I could leap on a new MMORPG, but I have the mentality where I like jumping on things from the start, rather than leaping in midway, and I don't really feel inspired by any new MMOs. I also lack the time and such.
WoW actually had a few DF references in it. The Barrens had a whole load of quests related to Boatmurdered, for example.
Hell, even the design of the bunker in the Dwarf Fortress quest was kind of inspired by it. It had a huge cannon out the roof (sure loads do in WoW, but y'know) which was the FTW device. Not to mention the fact Haggis Boatmurder lived in it.

Millennium WoW was fun for a time, and a few smaller break offs of it when the admins went crazy, all snuffed out though. It actually genuinely makes me sad when I remember the good times I had that I will never get back.
Anyways, I feel really bad when I kill Kobold thieves in Dwarf Fortress, knowing they do it just to survive. That, and in Masterwork, they squeak "I'm different!" and "please don't hurt me, I didn't mean any harm" in the combat logs ):

So I found this adventure profile I've never seen before on my dwarf fortress saves. Played it, It's an axe dwarf sitting in a pile of his own teeth with a mangled ear.
Got really weirded out because I don't remember any of this. Checked the combat log, looks like I took on a ton of bogeymen and survived. Check the quest log, Apparently I was on route to kill "Samas Clinchvoices".
Then it hit me, I got drunk as hell with my girlfriend last week. She must have gone to bed before me and I must have.....
Played Dwarf fortress.
Got bored in maths today, decided to draw yesterday's session of DF. There was a Peregine Falcon in my fort, while very good at hunting vermin (100+ kils) she also harassed my dwarves and even bit off the farmer's pinky while having a drink.

I fixed up a (relatively) massive spritesheet of kobolds in this style, took that sheet you have and added buttloads of new things, made them all uniform and nice and had all the jobs and nobilities and stuff but now I can't find it, and the download link I put on the DF forums is dead now. Wish I had it, I hate playing Masterwork KC with the ugly boring dumb sprites :(.

How do I install these in masterwork?

What is that? I play with the Phoebus tileset so i don't know what that is suposed to be.
It's the original tileset. On the left and near the top there are two sets of stockpile: refuse and corpse. The one on the top was placed by me in year one and his is the one on the left in year two.
He said we lost over 30 dwarves because someone went berserk. When I got in just now, I learned that our metalcrafter was also a werelizard when he started strangling a herbalist. I recruited the only military skilled dwarf I had left to kill him. When he started attacking the werelizard, he changed back to dwarf. This caused a hunter to shoot my recruit because he was attacking another dwarf thus killing him. Luckily the werelizard died of sustained injuries to his spine.

Also, the ground is made of bubble bulbs.
A little disappointing when tilesets prevent people from visualizing what is happening in vanilla DF.

Nothing wrong with people wanting to play with actual graphics. I don't use ASCII at all, though I can get the gist of what is happening if not too much is going on.
