I think it's a d, if you look carefully the letter next to it is an a.
Hey guys, I haven't played since they added wheelbarrows and whatnot, what has changed since then?
I honestly couldn't tell you, so probably not a lot. [editline]6th November 2013[/editline] To be honest, I'm hoping the update comes out soon, for multi tile trees, but Spacefox 16x16 tileset gave the game new life.
Welp. Operation 'wipe out the world' failed today at the very first combat. Some asshole crossbowman put a bolt through my eye and into my brain. You are deceased. Time to try again.
Lost a demigod who wiped out a few towns and a fortress to a single arrow in the chest. i had killed all the other kobolds too, before that arrow connected, but it was over from there.
Wait, how old is your sister? No matter how adorable she is, you know the rules. All children to the atom smasher.
She is 13 and is an awesome artist, but I really like when she does little things like this to make fun of the things I do. I told her it looked like a garden gnome and she said she did that on purpose.
So I just landed myself in an area where the ground is made of staring eyeballs and wormy tendrils. I am horrified.
So I just landed myself in an area where the ground is made of staring eyeballs and wormy tendrils. I am horrified.
What do you think the eyeballs see when a dwarf stands over them? Probably something much more horrific
My restarted adventurer demigod is going much better than the last one. I might actually get enough in the way of stats to survive as a necro, if I ever get there.
What do you think the eyeballs see when a dwarf stands over them? Probably something much more horrific
Considering I mostly produce robes, socks, cloaks and hoods out of cloth, I imagine that the view is quite unrestricted. I traumatise everything, even the fucking plants!
Toady posted a new devlog:
We've been continuing along with the list. I just finished a bunch of bookkeeping with invaders picking out buildings to operate from -- when a site's map is realized and all the citizens are spread out between buildings, an army that arrives for occupation also needs to sort itself out in a more specific way, and any historical figure that is staying in town needs to have a home, and so on. Generally they'll displace the current leadership and take over whatever castle or mead hall structure is around. I also cleaned up how they set up the new government -- during the first test, a kidnapped child that grew up to be a scout for the goblins was the one they selected to be the ruler of the town under occupation. It's cool that things like that are happening during play now, though of course the really juicy stuff relating to relatives and so on hasn't been done yet.
All good news, it looks like.
My two miners got trapped in a hole and died. Welp time to abandon.
Why didnt they dig themselves out cuz they are miners
My two miners got trapped in a hole and died. Welp time to abandon.
make someone else a miner and mine them out don't abandon ever, man, you gotta tough it out
I did not pay attention and they died before I realized. And people refused to go down there and pick up the picks and dig out of there. I gave everyone mining!
I now know why most people never try to reclaim large, well-developed fortresses. They are DAMNED messes.
Apparently at some point between abandoning the fortress and reclaiming it a fucking tornado blows through every hallway and throws all your shit around.
I did not pay attention and they died before I realized. And people refused to go down there and pick up the picks and dig out of there. I gave everyone mining!
let the ghosts come then banish them with those memorial things before the spiral commences
Everything was going as planned in my latest fort, though they started getting more than a little hectic when I realized I had 92 dwarves. That wasn't a problem for long though, forgot include a method of plugging the place up in case of sieges. 1 goblin siege, and a vampire later, 28 dwarves remain.
let the ghosts come then banish them with those memorial things before the spiral commences
Going to reclaim the nothing of a fort I had made at that point. Should not be TOO hard to clean up...
Going to reclaim the nothing of a fort I had made at that point. Should not be TOO hard to clean up...
You haven't tried reclaiming a lot, have you?
Everything is everywhere oh god
I had one really awesome fort I liked a while back. It died to a spiral, so I decided to reclaim it. Three years later, I still hadn't collected everything and it died again due to a siege.
All hail The Lightning of Men. And the rest of his squad, consolation prize to Mr Minecrafts. Oh god, this is great. http://imgur.com/a/HHo78 The dorfy alphabet. Also, dorfy fashion guide: [t]http://dwarffortresswiki.org/images/d/d8/Armor_Coverage_Chart.png[/t]
Oh god, this is great. http://imgur.com/a/HHo78 The dorfy alphabet.
It would have been really funny if for the letter 'V' the engraving on the wall was a perfect copy of the guy being torched by the dragon. Or a rendition of an image of cheese. I really like that image though, has a really dorfy feel to it.
Just a bit sad it misses out on w, x and y, though it was good whilst it lasted. I like the way you can chant it though.
Absolutely perfect how it reads like a children's book. [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] On Google today. [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] Seriously, what am I doing wrong? [t]http://puu.sh/5cnOP.png[/t] [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] Aand fixed. Apparently the .png's background was not true magenta.
"This is a sphalerite mechanisms. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encrusted with round sphalerite cabochons and encircled with bands of cushion sphalerite cabochons."
That be a mighty good mechanism for a weapon trap with 10 blunt objects. It'll swing it with an insane modifier, but would jam all the time if done with serrated disks or something. (servering limbs can jam weapon traps)
So I'm having issues. All the dwarves whom I have set to work the wood burners and smelters and such won't do it. They all just sit in the meeting area with "No Job." Am I missing something?
