Going into strange moods and being able to reattach limbs, but to the wrong places.

Prosthetics made of soap
Just encountered my first Forgotten Beast, it's made of green glass. I'm really tired though so I'll deal with it tomorrow.

Also, I had a goblin siege get broken by my altogether too long trap corridor. But instead of leaving outright, they've set up shop just east of my fort, shiving anyone who walks by.
In other words, I accidentally created London.

Reminds me of a siege I got once. As soon as they entered the map I sealed my fortress to prevent them from entering... but they never even tried. They just stayed in the southeast corner.
So I re-opened my fort, continued as normal, built up a military force for some time and butchered them.
If the pathmaking can't find any way in they'll just hang around wherever they are

Generally you build your trap corridors with the end leading into the fort, though make sure to have your army at the other end to cut down any goblin lucky enough to make it through.
Is there anyway to get rid of the "generic" leather in Masterwork and get back the different types, ie rat leather, bat leather, etc? Same goes with bones and meat. FPS be damned. The options don't seem to have anything for that. The standardization options do nothing (I have them all turned off).
Not that I'm aware of. It's been like that for several versions, even when it was turned off it would automatically use the generic 'leather.'
I remember when I thought the new update would be coming in March
of last year

I had a trap corridor, just hadn't gotten around to training a proper military yet. There was a trapped and an untrapped entrance to the fort.

Though when I eventually did have to use the trap corridor the ☼large serrated steel disc☼s absolutely crushed everything.
What do we know about the next patch anyway?

Massive updates to Adventure mode (dwarves actually start in proper forts etc), multi-tile trees, better lineages and people act on past quarrels now I think.

And climbing, being considered someone who works for a specific town, and multi-tile trees.

The ability to retire fortresses and resume worldgen

Oh this will get interesting
I can't wait to start a fortress at year 1 and fast forward 200 years
You missed the most important part.
Less than lethal brawls.
Now we can all have the barfights we desire.
I was robbed properly today. The miscreants approached me south of the well in front of several onlookers. Their leader made small talk as two others surrounded me. Once everybody was in place, the tone changed and they demanded that I yield, which I, being unskilled and alone, did promptly. They had me drop my spear, which was pulled over and collected, and then they had me drop my pack, which they emptied out on to the ground. Not finding anything valuable, they left me to clean up, wandering back to the well. I decided not to take things in stride and snatched up the dagger that used to be in my pack. Attacking, I was killed immediately. Most of the civilians screamed out in horror, as did two of the bandits. As they recovered, people started gossipping about my death.
Incidentally, failure to comply with orders results in a fist fight or a beating, depending on if you're defiantly not yielding or if you are yielded and just not following commands. If you start to comply, it continues on with the steps of the robbery. There are doubtless many ways to make them slip up. I've only handled a few of the obvious ones so far, and I'll probably just leave it at that for this time.
Yesterday I messed around with camp alarms and made armies suffer more if their leaders are lost (by whatever means). Plenty of loading up camp sites and pressing the dismemberment button to test it out.
I hope we can throw people over tables and through windows. Then, barfights will really be complete.
It's awesome that people in adventure mode seem so much more human. I can't wait for this update to come out
Wow. Started a skeleton archer squad and it's name is "The Insights of Smut"
I can't stop laughing.
I thought I had my portal to Candyland closed, but one of the clowns got through. My candy equipped soldiers all got horribly injured killing it, and the creature took half the fort with it.
This fort is insane. It's gone from 7 to 120 to 0 to 7 to 70 and now back down to 30 dwarves.
I just realized Bioware passed up a perfect opportunity to make their dwarves in DA:O resemble the ones from DF
It would've made the deep roads section much more tolerable.

Any games that include dwarves should make them resemble the ones from DF.

If it ain't in a tantrum it ain't a real dwarf.
I have a military composed of one squad with silver warhammers and bronze armor (absolutely no iron whatsofuckingever on this map).
on a scale of dead to really dead, how bad is it that the uninvited guest I got is made out of diamond and shoots web?
also this map seems not to have any caverns either, I've dug down to z-level -66 and aint even a single ol' balrog
not even a one
I've pretty much been occupying myself by killing all the babies the women keep farting out, then making up for their grief by giving them a legendary room filled with engravings and silver furniture, but with their kids gravesite right smackdab in the center

Extremely dead, you need candy swords I believe to kill them.

does that mean it's time to draft all 170 and have a giant beatdown, because I want to do that

Judging by the size (if I remember correctly) of Forgotten Beasts, it could probably kill them all pretty darn quickly.

But, by all means, do it
