So I'm feeling kinda stuck/bored right now and I'm not sure what I should be doing to try to get better gear for raids. LL 288. Should I just be running Vanguards? Should I be doing something more specific than just running all the missions I can + bounties when I can? Is there specific gear I should have before raiding?
Keep your light as high as possible and run strikes/courts for blue infusion fodder. Also do the depose the court quest from Eris, she'll give you a 300 light artifact.

Haha, got Hung Jury SR4 from my Rank 2 Dead Orbit package, don't need to bother getting rank 3 now :D [editline]30th September 2015[/editline] Dunno if it's better than my Monte Carlo though once I infuse it up to the same attack but I'll do some testing with it tomorrow.
Where do you get T3 tokens for CoO? I've got T2 done and have more than enough for T1.
The raid, Eris level-ups, T2 CoO, and iirc a few Eris quests give one as a reward. They are pretty rare though (I think I've found 15 T1s, 6 T2s, and 3 T3s [1 from an Eris quest]) at this point. As a 304 light player: if you're at light level 288, keep grinding the 36 strike playlist. 36 Vanguard playlist is the best leveling tool up until 300 since you get lots of engrams (which may decrypt into up to 300 level gear, depending on your light level at the time of decryption) and rep for Vanguard/faction/cryptarch (which gives legendaries and Strange Coins on level up). If you have Three of Coins this is also an efficient way to use them and effectively get an exotic engram for ~8-9 Strange Coins (however, save these until you hit 300 light level so they have a chance to decrypt as 310s). CoO is also good but you'll have to spend runes. In my experience CoO drops artifacts much more frequently than other sources, so if you need a good one it may be worth your time.
Ugh, don't have the money to buy the Taken King. I can't wait to finally get my hands on it, it looks so much better than vanilla Destiny.
Ugh, don't have the money to buy the Taken King. I can't wait to finally get my hands on it, it looks so much better than vanilla Destiny.
It has more or less turned destiny into the game it was supposed to be.
OK what the fuck. I've seen titan crest of AL drop like 6 times in the last week. I've seen a shit load of The Stag helmet for warlock too. All my buddies with warlocks have it.
Exotic engrams seem to be heavily weighted, all I've gotten out of special engrams are 4th Horsemen and Hereafters
Fuck whoever decided to make the Exotic Sword quest require 25 crucible kills with the sword, even with Mayhem it's such a pain in the arse =/
Fuck whoever decided to make the Exotic Sword quest require 25 crucible kills with the sword, even with Mayhem it's such a pain in the arse =/
You can get kills with the hilt of the sword without hevay ammo and it still counts
Fuck whoever decided to make the Exotic Sword quest require 25 crucible kills with the sword, even with Mayhem it's such a pain in the arse =/
Curiously I did mine in the Skirmish playlist. Easier to get to the heavy ammo without randomly exploding from whatever and while the kill count won't grow as much as in Mayhem (Potentially) it's still largely easier for me. Also I can't stress this enough, even I feel like the Telesto needs a bit of a nerf regarding Crucible, I wreck with that thing and I'm not even that good at PvP.
You can get kills with the hilt of the sword without hevay ammo and it still counts
Yeah every time I try to get close enough I get shotgunned straight in my colon, 18/25 so almost there though.
Fuck whoever decided to make the Exotic Sword quest require 25 crucible kills with the sword, even with Mayhem it's such a pain in the arse =/
Eh, I'm having a good time. 15/25 and I've had the quest for less than a day. I crushed a Scrim match too so that helped.
It has more or less turned destiny into the game it was supposed to be.
That's great. Now if only I wasn't a teenager who has no source of money.

Okay Facepunch. I bought Destiny on release day along with an Xbox One. I beat it, got to level 22, and never touched it again. I'm looking to get back into it and wanted to get all of the DLC, but the prices have me scratching my head. So you can go to the store and buy the Destiny: The Taken King legendary edition for $60. (http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-one/games/destiny-the-taken-king-legendary-edition/122691) That includes Destiny, The Taken King, and Expansions I & II. But I already own the base game, so I looked at the Xbox One Marketplace, and it says I can't just buy the Taken King on its own, I need to own the Expansion Pass. That's all swell or whatever, if TTK was included in the expansion pass. But my friend tells me I have to buy the Expansion Pass for $35, then shell out another $40 for TTK? Is this true? Why am I getting fucked over for already owning the game? Honestly for the shit show this game was on launch I was hoping for at least a free expansion for myself or something. Honestly this is kinda bullshit.

I'm a fresh 40 and I was wondering what's the best way to get good gear to raise my LL. I wanna do some of those heroic strikes
you want the Legendary Edition it's basically buying TTK for $40, and the Expansion Pass for $20 instead of $35
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Oh man that's fucking funny. So essentially I paid $60 for the base game for nothing since it's literally free now? That's rich. Throwing the game in the trash.
games drop in value after they've been out for a year and a pseudo-sequel expansion is released...

It's really starting to bother me that none of the hunter cloaks can be coloured, and that the majority of them are ugly camo/ghillie cloaks. Doesn't help that they have stats now. I've only been using the queen cloak and shader, since it's only damn thing I can get to match.
games drop in value after they've been out for a year and a pseudo-sequel expansion is released...
I think he's over exaggerating (the game is not "literally free") but there should definitely be an a cheaper upgrade option for people who only own the base game.

You paid for the base game last year, the price of the base game dropped months ago and now their bundling it and the DLC with TTK for an extra 20 dollars. Good, throw your game away, throw your post away while you're at it.

[editline]29th September 2015[/editline] Also, you can trade your copy of destiny in at GameStop for $20 off ttk
