i have 1000+ hours in destiny but i would say objectively that Bloodborne is a better game, just not as much of an "investment" in terms of playtime

Playing PvP in this game makes me wish nothing more that it came out on PC. I cannot for the life of me play competitive shooters on console. The very basic way it controls doesn't jive with me and it actually makes me mad when I can't make easy shots because controller. It makes the Crucible bounties and thus Iron Banner stuff way more frustrating for me.
I guess on that note, any advice for someone who is really bad?
Use the radar to your advantage, and if you want to get better you should play more slowly, constantly be aware of your surroundings and dont put yourself into unnecessary danger
Get a primary that you are good with and stick to it, as well as a class/subclass that you can master
Get to know the maps, where the common chokes are, camping spots, etc.
Practice, obviously, is the most important part, but thats where you can start
Ugh, I forgot about the radar. That is another thing I absolutely hate about this game. Some people are fucking precogs with it while I think it's the most imprecise piece of shit I've ever seen.

Man, just had the round of my life in Iron Banner. 21 Kills with a 7.0 K/D ratio, and admittedly I'm usually pretty useless at PvP.
The only game mode I play is control, hold your home objective and B and don't die. If the other team is awful then triple cap and stomp them

I actually got Iron Gauntlet done. I don't know what match I did it in, I don't know how I did it, it's just complete for me for some reason. All I need is rank 4 now.

I got Destiny at launch, played for a week and hated it. It was slow, it was grindy, it was painful.
About a month ago, I got Destiny Legendary edition. Dinged my Warlock up using that item, played through the expansion, hit max level, and have now been having fun just playing Destiny surprisingly enough. Not quite high enough light to do the Taken King raid, but anyway I have a question:
What should I be doing? I'm unsure of how PvP fundamentally works so a kind of primer would be appreciated on that front. I'm grinding out light levels to raid. I'm using my strange coins to purchase the odd piece of gear from the weekend vendor. I hit up the strike playlist. Got my sword.
Did I miss out on anything by not really playing through the entire game? How should I really be spending my time to capitalize the most on playing?
All a bit overwhelming really.

If you're a warlock totally disregard void if you're trying for raid because it is essentially worthless outside of pvp.
Sunsinger has self rez and that will never not be good.
Make sure if you find a piece of gear that is better than what you've got on, replace it, because the only way to get better light gear is from higher light level so those 1-3 light levels can make the difference.
I'm gonna be totally honest with you though the stretch from maybe 285/290-300 will be the most annoying and grueling grind because at that point you'll be dependant on raid gear.

What I didn't get was, Kill streak count = Number of killstreaks or a 10 person kill streak. Either way, it got done. Just waiting for that level 4 too.
Either it just wants killing sprees 10 times or a teammate getting a 10 kill-streak counts like those special and heavy weapon bounties used to, since I haven't gotten to 10 without dying once
Also, people that ragequit in stuff like Iron Banner or, well, PvP in general... Should get a 3-6 hour ban from PvP activities.

Why? Go do other stuff. I mean, it's detrimental to everyone's experience in PvP if you're going to quit halfway just because the team's behind, I've seen and been on amazing comebacks and that shit feels awesome. But it's a bit hard to pull off if your team suddenly has one or two less members than the other team, especially in Control.
Plus, I doubt that people who actually care about the Crucible leave halfway anyway, so it'd be weeding out the assholes really.
Because then that kind of punishment can be placed on people who get randomly disconnected for whatever reason. Most games with punishments like that don't look into why you leave a match. If it detects you leaving early for any reason you'll get punished. Halo did this with ranks and it was a bit ridiculous at times.
Plus with a punishment like that it will drive a lot of people away from the game as a whole because that's a stupid amount of time.
It really shouldn't be the end of the world if you're barred from PvP in a game for a couple of hours. You can go out or go do something else irl or in the game.
To some people it is. Personally I wouldn't care since a punishment like that doesn't affect ranks. But 3 to 6 hours is still a very long time for something so small. A 30 to 45 minute ban would be a bit more reasonable.

Plus those people who leave early cheat themselves of a possibly good loot reward. Winning a Crucible match it Destiny doesn't even really matter unless you're doing bounties that have a requirement of winning a match, and on top of that it's not like (normal) bounties expire.
Regular Crucible shouldn't have any punishments, but stuff like IB should have some kind of punishment for quitting early.
I think I just got the worst possible reward you can get for beating Oryx.

the raid weapons are pretty bad for the most part, probably don't want to infuse them up
Hopefully the heroic versions of the raid primaries have burns, otherwise they're just infusion fodder for my favourite non-raid weapons.
