You can do the raid at 294. Just make sure you have a good sniper - also look up raid guides so you know what to do for each fight and can guide others

Unless you are a part of a fireteam with 297s-300s, then it's gonna be incredibly difficult to stagger oryx.
I'm stuck at 294/5 too, my ghost is 280 and it's holding me back massively
its pretty dumb how unreliable it is to get a good shell

I'm 307 and with that I had the same problem as you.
The answer to your question? Court of Oryx. Tons of 290+ blue rarity ghosts drop in that thing.

Honestly unless you have at least two of the same class you're gonna have a hard time breaking 300.
That last 20 light levels is endgame, and endgame is gonna be the most grind heavy part

That's entirely not true. I have one of each class and they're all 290+ with my Hunter being 307. You just gotta be lucky and be a little bit smarter when you infuse items and the such.

I did a bunch of tier 1 court of oryx and got a 294 one to use over the 277 I'd had for a week or two, but it doesn't feel like there is anything else I can do to up my light. My lowest item is 292 and prior to getting the ghost upgrade i haven't really found any upgrades/blues to infuse to get anything past that.

[B]Breaking[/B] 300 without exotics is literally impossible. You have to have raid gear to do it. That is what I mean. To get that you need luck on your side and getting two or even 3 shots at gear for you and your main is important

keep in mind you don't have to beat the whole raid - you could just do up to Warpriest or Golgoroth, who have lower light levels than Oryx (the first week I attempted the raid, I stopped at Warpriest)
the issue with deathsingers is that people have more trouble jumping on a circle of platforms than they do anything else in the entire raid

Breaking 300 with an exotic is possible -- and that matters how? You should always have an exotic on your character anyway. Xur sells an exotic for your class every Frisay and you can get a weapon exotic engram from a Three of Coins. That's fairly easy to do.

The point is it isn't easy to get past 300. You can shout about Xur all you want but he comes once a week and usually with shit items.
Without exotics it's impossible, with exotics it's still hard as hell unless you're swimming in 3oC.
300 drops are possible from blues and sometimes legendary but those drops are far and few between.
If you got a ton of 300 drops then congrats, youre drowning in luck because more often than not RNG does not favor the average player.

It's easy to sit back and say [I]"just wait for xur each week and you'll be 300+ in X weeks!"[/I] but realistically you could lose a shit ton of people in that time frame because who the fuck is gonna wait for possibly a month to get what they need when doing the raid makes it much faster and easier
It makes me think of someone saying "the game is good I swear it just is slow the first 4 hours"
So what light level does one need to be before you can even THINK about doing the raid?

Please don't recommend people in the high 270's to raid, at that point you are dead weight and just there to be carried.
I just got the base game and I'm enjoying it so far. The first Devil Walker battle was stupid because one guy in my team left and the other was all the way across the map pinging at it, not realizing to go for the legs. :v:
Almost have my 2nd hunter to 40, maybe I'll have a better chance at loot or I'll just end up with a mountain of shards.

weird, I did tonnes of reciprocals and a few tier 2s a while back and got jack shit from it aside from blue relics that were below 300

Did you infuse exotics into your gear? Good for you you found a way to get above 300 I'm saying the average player doesn't use.
You're acting like everyone is just as blessed by RNG as you when it doesn't work like that. I'm not doing something wrong I'm saying that vanilla, without infusing exotics you cannot and will not break 300. It's impossible because legendary and rare gear aren't programmed to drop above 300 unless it's from the raid and even then that's only the raid gear. Exotics are an exception obviously.
