The normal way to do it is so simple and easier. I hate joining a group and every time someone asks "what strat are we doing?"
this strat is just for people who can't kill ogres fast enough, because that is really the only part of the whole encounter that should be causing anyone any problems

Right so when you go tower you'll have a quest at Eva Levante.
She'll give you a chest with some materials and a mask in it.
You then have to go run around the tower, collecting candy from NPCs.
You return to her to get a loot bag with another mask, then 3 quests. Requiring you to do different things while wearing different masks. (30 Crucible Kills as a Engram, Court of Oryx as Speaker, Fall off tower as Atheon etc)

I have a traveller and an engrams mask atm
I love that they're doing stuff like this, but something still feels off about the emotes. I think the speed the animation plays at is what's annoying me, also seems a bit stiff compared to the ones we had etc... Like they have completely different animators working on them.
Getting the head shots in the crucible for the first curse quest is proving to be such a pain
for the Halloween event, there's a repeatable quest to fill up a candy satchel by killing enemies while wearing a mask. turning it in gives a random rare mask and a couple consumables. I believe rare and legendary masks are identical, except rare masks expire at the end of the event (I think upgrading rare -> legendary with Paper Glue just makes the mask stick around after the event ends)
EDIT:
According to Reddit, dismantling a legendary mask guarantees a Paper Glue. so even if you don't spend money on the event and don't get the legendary mask you want from the free box, you can dismantle the free legendary mask to get a Paper Glue, farm candy/rare masks until you get the mask you want permanently, then use the glue on the mask to keep it.

Its for bonus bags. So you can run a heroic and court of oryx, finish that quest and fill your other bag at the same time.

Got the Oryx mask and an Exotic Engram mask. It's funny how I got that Engram mask despite literally never having an exotic Engram drop for me.
Speak of the devil. Doing junk on the dreadnaught and I decided to summon the Cabal Colossus near the patrol spawn while wearing the Engram mask and got an exotic Engram from him.

Yeah. It was weird. I logged on, ran to the tower and grabbed all the stuff. Threw on a mask and started killing stuff and he dropped one.

I posted a video of a buddy of mine getting an exotic without a 3oC and everyone called bullshit it on anyway. For as chill as Destiny can be to play it (for me) there sure are a couple spazzes in this thread.

I've never seen one drop without 3oc and neither have the majority of people, it's not really an unreasonable thing to not believe

because 99% of people have never seen or heard of someone getting an exotic without 3oC active, and it's also easy to fool idiots like you like your friend did by transferring himself an exotic engram from his vault
