I love Obsidian Mind on Warlock with Bad Juju, I pretty much always have a super available. Depending on the enemy (like the 3 hive majors on earth in the basement) I can use my super and get another super instantly without picking up orbs/killing anyone else.
How good is the Queens Shotgun? Looking for a good Legendary shotgun to use to replace my Invective so I can start using my exotic primaries.

All of the queen's weapons are serviceable, but they're all very, very similar to what you can buy from the vendors in the tower. So if you can get your hands on one, it'll be fine.

Vanguard doesn't sell a shotgun and I can't stand to play Crucible for long enough to get another 100 marks.

The queen's weapons and the crucible weapons are nearly identical. If you're going to get any legendary shotgun, it'll work just fine. The queen's weapons are just a little easier to earn, (not counting grinding for the keys.)

I already have about 8 keys. Used about 6 so far, got nearly every weapon except Pulse Rifle and Shotgun.

One year after released. So September 2015 for Dust Palace/Hawkmoon/Shitty Blue gear.
December 2015 for Undying Mind/Fourth Horseman/whatever else was added.

Ahh man I thought the exclusivity period ended in September for everything. I seriously doubt I'll still be playing this time next year.

Too bad I scrapped my VoG set when The Dark Below came out because I didn't think they'd add a feature like etheric light

Since I last played this game, which was probably like over a year ago or whatever I don't care, has this game been made less of a fucking grind fest? Like have they improved drop rates and what not?

Not sure about drop rates, but with the patches since then and now House of Wolves you can actually sort of [I]earn[/I] your rank instead of waiting for drops. It's still sort of grindy but not as bad as it was before imo
I just got the Lord of Wolves from the Elder Cipher and holy shit does this kick ass, kills shit harder than any shotgun I've seen and has next to no damage falloff within its shotgun-style distance before the shots magically disappear
I'm anticipating heavy nerfs once more than 12 people actually get their hands on this thing

Legendary engrams no longer give you coins or motes and have a higher chance to give exotics, blue engrams have a higher chance to give legendary items. Legendary engrams drop more often, (way more often in my experience.)
They've remove most legendary materials and replaced it with existing planetary, class and a new exotic material called etheric light which you can earn from high level activities or you can buy it from Xur. You no longer have to grind for radient shards or energy, as etheric light instantly caps the damage or defense of an item.
It's a huge improvement.
Might fire it back up then to see these changes.
And then watch me come back here in about an hour saying how shit this game still is.

It's been that long since I've played this game that I have no idea what I'm doing, I logged into and got a Legendary Sniper Rifle, Amplified Geo-D6, not sure if I'm supposed to be happy about it or not, it's like logging into someone's high level character and looking at their shit but not knowing what the fuck it is.
Also I'm Level 28.
What's the quickest way from 18 to 20? Ran out of story missions and bounties and I've only just reached 18.

Finally got my Titan to 20. Threw the gear I collected onto him.
31 with Eternal Warrior/Glasshouse.
28 with Ruin Wings and a Green helm.
Need to find myself a legendary helm.
I'm also about to start a new titan character, got some decent gear for titan. Although I dread playing through the missions again, they're so boring by yourself. If anyone wants to play through the missions on ps4, just pm me.

Like Bathtub mentioned, strike playlists are pretty good for getting tons of engrams. There are bound to be some legendaries. Furthermore you level up your cryptarch and vanguard marks, which allows you to buy some neat gear at the traders.

Can't buy a helm till next week due to 100 mark cap. Shame you can't buy other classes items, can only buy your own. Have 400 marks on my other characters to use.
Thankfully house of wolves daily heroics give 20 marks. It shouldn't take that long anymore.
