Now you can look at all the guns and armor you can't get anymore!
looks like it's finally time for me to get good

Oh well I need to step up my game too, since I haven't even touched Crota's raid on normal or PoE on hard.
So I don't get shit because I didn't want to buy there overpriced DLCs, great.
So I don't get shit because I didn't want to buy there overpriced DLCs, great.
What'd you expect? You only bought half the game.
So I don't get shit because I didn't want to buy there overpriced DLCs, great.
Did you honestly expect to get anything by just holding onto and playing the base game ????
It's for the dedicated players who've gone out and done all there is to offer (Lighthouse aside, for whatever reason)
What'd you expect? You only bought half the game.
I didnt buy half the game, I bought THE game. The game its self had little content, and the DLCs its self defo don't have £20 worth of content, each. And the reward thing is for year one players, Ive played the game and did everything it had to offer, yet I' have nothing to show for it. If I pick the game up again (which I will at some point when the game(s) start to actually have a reasonable amount of content), what do I get to show that I was here from the start?
Fuck all

Its not for dedicated players, the fact that the light house isn't a part of it proves that, its probably one of the hardest places to get to in the game at the moment. Its for guys who brought all the DLC and played which is bullshit.
Welcome to a game that ran out of budget and had to turn to Activision

To be fair, anyone who really gives a shit about the year one stuff have already bought the dlc. idk how anyone who is still into the game hasn't bought the dlc yet. I get what you mean though.

You get it for completing the year one content. Crota and Skolas is part of that year one stuff. Just because you're still playing a bland vanilla game and didn't bother to get the DLC, that's not on anyone except for yourself tbh.

None of the other requirements need any actual skill. They probably didn't put that as a requirement cause people would have complained that it's too hard to do.
Also
“Hey, I’ve been here since day one. What do I get?”
If you already have a Light Level 30 Guardian, or if you’ve picked up and played both The Dark Below and House of Wolves, then you’re a VIP in The Tower’s book. They’ll reward you accordingly with a victory lap that will include a permanently exclusive set of items.

You get that stuff. Shader, emblem and sparrow. It's like you don't even follow the basic news for this game but still complain about not getting something special
None of the other requirements need any actual skill. They probably didn't put that as a requirement cause people would have complained that it's too hard to do.
yeah, the amount of players who've made it to the lighthouse will have been a pretty small portion of the overall player base. It makes sense that they want to include a wider audience with it while also having a few decent requirements for it. A lot of people still haven't done any raids or even attempted Skolas yet. Lighthouse would've been the least of their worries
You get that stuff. Shader, emblem and sparrow. It's like you don't even follow the basic news for this game but still complain about not getting something special
*if you have a guardian that reached level 30
which, based on how he feels about the game, is very possible to not be the case
*if you have a guardian that reached level 30
which, based on how he feels about the game, is very possible to not be the case
Level 30 is a joke to achieve. Just buying vanguard gear alone will get you to at least 30 and there's still a long period of time for you to be able to do it. If you honestly haven't gotten level 30 at this point then that means you've probably just stopped playing and dropped off the game. Again, they give you the options to get it, it's not their fault that you just up and dropped the game and then decided to come back much later. (in that scenario)
Only thing I need to do for that Triumph Emblem is Skolas.
Have two months to do it if I can be bothered.
Vanguard or crucible gear gets you to 32, unless not buying dlc gives the merchants different stock.

I rinsed the base games content for all its worth, I made it to 30 before the dark below content, I have like 3 mythoclasts, hell I even played with the FP A team from back in the day.
Don't get me wrong I fucking love the game, but the content is simply not enough to justify the prices, I'm only this salty about Destiny because I care. So soon as they release something worthwhile, I'll eat that shit up.

sell the base game disk to a friend for $40 (or gamestop for ~25 if you don't care), then get the legendary edition of the taken king. You now have:
>the base game which is still worth near $50 used at gamestop
>the dark below- $19.99
>house of wolves- $19.99
>the taken king, which (now) bills itself as $40 for just the expansion
>another $20 'worth' of bonus content from taken king
Now you got yourself a stack of junk you'd have to pay $150 for over time. the first two DLC people already consider a necessity to give the game longevity, plus the new DLC which is supposed to double that previous DLC's content and fix up functionality in the base game, all for essentially dropping $40
but that's just the optimist in me thinking you'd value even that, despite how sour you are about (understandably) not wanting to have to buy DLC to fix the core of a game that cost good money in the first place. The legendary edition deal gives you lots of bang for your buck, even if you don't end up selling your base copy.
In the meantime, I've been playing a bunch but I don't have set times I'd know I'm on, to come pester FPers to schedule some funtime now that I'm getting up in levels. I'm just starting off the dark below content (grinding my face against that dude with the sword because he hits hard, moves fast, and if I get him down to low health I end up swamped by thralls and more of his bullshit energy waves), and (despite being stomped by it without somebody to help out) I'm super excited about getting krota's bane rep because damn I NEED that sunsetting shader.

My advise would be get a shotgun and run, jump, shoot. Save your supers and abilities for thralls. Dark Below's story missions a far my favourite in Destiny since how much effort you must put to beat them.
So what do people use to farm glimmer these days?
The first mars mission, exclusion zone iirc. Kill all but one shield asshole, kill self, repeat.

Maybe you're right, but I just love playing those missions.
btw DLCs are on sale on PSN.

That is a good plan and I would do it expect I don't want to buy the taken king before I know what I'm buying.

It's on sale on PS4 if you got that
Anyone want to raid or do the nightfall later? Haven't played in forever and just got to lvl 32 the other night after trying out some house of wolves shit

my first legendary happened to be a shotgun ("Rude Awakening DOA"), and I've tried plowing into him with it but it doesn't make enough of a dent to survive the time. His energy blasts also reach pretty high, it's a bugger
I'll try and be on tonight, just unlocked another build related skill and can max out armor
also few questions on social junk:
>is the whole clan system seriously just locked to the website, or now that I've joined FP's group, is there some extra function in the game I can find? Does it affect which instance of the social zones I load into, so I'd see more of my group? Seems like a hassle for a game that did nothing but advertise how awesome and intuitive it was to just play with friends
>how on earth do I get my microphone to work? I have opt-in set, I've done the thing where I hit the select button and use the d-pad to select individual channels (is there a difference to care about , made sure the mic was working on the xbox's settings, but no matter what I do, voice always comes from speakers and the audio icon on my profile bar never perks up to indicate I'm making sound. My brother-in-law seemed to just use the xbox's party chat when he showed me the game before, not sure if that was just so he could cross-game chat with friends or if it was just better than fighting with destiny
>bonus, did xbox change its friend system to google+ style following, instead of having to mutually agree to be mutual friends? interesting
Game chat kinda works but its goofy. Party chat is 1000% better. And yeah when you add someone you just follow them, they have yo add you back.
Is Destiny having issues again on XBL? Keep getting kicked out with some code word "caterpillar."
