Speaking of gamemodes I wish 2v2 was permanent
Any advice for a newbie? I got this like 3 days ago. Seems pretty fun.

Then go into Crucible and try it out a bit and see how you like it, it'll also get you up to 20 after a few matches. After that you'll need to get blue/legendary or even Exotic gear to rank up your light level. (Which is pretty much just more levels, it's nothing more but a fancy way of saying you need better gear.) Once you get to 26 you can do the Vault of Glass raid, which you'll want to do if you want some of the best PvE weapons in the game and some sick gear. After that you can decide if you want to get the DLC. [editline]18th July 2015[/editline] Also if you get Strange Coins from the Weekly Strike (it's a beefed up strike where you can get better rewards then normal ones) and then you can purchase items from the vendor Xür who has some of the most sought after stuff in the game. He comes every weekend.

If you're on Xbone I'll take you through it, if not you have to use something like /r/fireteams to find a team. I suggest being a 26 if you're gonna do it or you'll be at a massive disadvantage. It won't matter if you play with me though.

But I'll try the /r/fireteams and try to find something. Thank you.

I'm on PS4 and I'm always willing to help out with raids, so just let me know if something gets set up.
I've never played this game, but I've been slightly interested for a long time now. How is this game like? I've heard there's a lot of MMO elements of some sort. With all the gear and whatnot. What do these expansions do? Also, is it worth getting on the PS3 if I don't have a current-gen console?
Ah ok. Unfortunately I'm on ps4. But I'll try the /r/fireteams and try to find something. Thank you.
I'd recommend /r/destinysherpa as well. It's a subreddit designed for sherpas to guide new players through the raids, informing them of the mechanics. Do two of those and you should be set to join any raid posted on /r/fireteams without people complaining cause you don't know anything. Also if you happen to be online when I'm trying to find people for a raid I'll throw you an invite. They take around 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on who you're raiding with.

DLCs add more strikes, missions, one raid and other stuff. You can try PS3 version, but in my opinion better get PS4 or XONE since that's where most people play.

Lets you get to level 7 I believe and your character transfers over if you buy the full game. Try that out.

As for mmo elements, there are barely none. Only a hub like area where other people run around minding their own business, also while doing missions you might stumble upon few players but that's about it. Expansion add just general content like missions, strikes, raid, gear and factions. I would highly advice getting it on the newer consoles, I've played on the 360 and it's runs rather well but it looks pretty blurry and you will get a lot of enjoyment out of the great looking gear and apparel, it just isn't as satisfactory having everything blurred out and low res. Also I definitely recommend getting the dlcs because the game is barebones without any expansions.

The DLCs add more items, "areas", raids and bosses, ect. They're worth it if you enjoy the game. I'd say our may get shafted on PS3 because you have longer load times and it is pretty bad but other than that I don't see what is wrong with it if you're gonna transfer your account later.

The expansions put what should have been in the game to begin with for it to cost $60, by adding a few more strikes and missions and things to DO. You would quickly run out of things to do without them unless all you did was PvP, which is exactly like Halo but with a special powerful ability you can cast from time to time, and double jumping
It'd be awesome to play with you guys. Is there a list I should add my psn name or should I just post it on here?

There really isn't that much in common.
It has guns and spaceships.
Can anyone help me level up? Seems like it's taking for-fucking-ever to get past level 24 with my Hunter.
Can anyone help me level up? Seems like it's taking for-fucking-ever to get past level 24 with my Hunter.
You know you need armor with light, correct?
Obviously since I'm past level 20 I have light armor. It's taking forever to find better armor.

Oh my god, thank you for all the awesome replies. I didn't expect to get so much help :D I will definitely try the demo when I get the chance. My reasoning for getting it for the PS3 is because I will not be able to get a PS4 in a very long time, and I've always had a bit of a urge to try Destiny out. Luckily the game does not seem to be very expensive on the PS3 if I ever decide to get it. If I like the game, it seems like a amount of money I can definitely spend without feeling bad.
