It's not 500 kills, it's 500 points. 5 points per void weapon kill, 2 point loss for dying.

still though, that's pretty ridiculous considering you have extremely limited ammo for your void weapons, and once you run out, you pretty much have to hide until more ammo spawns. Do primary weapons with arc, solar, void properties even exist?

Yes.
From Raids/Skolas/ToO.
Your best bet would probably doing CE HM and getting Word of Crota.

There are indeed primaries with elemental damage:
- all raid primaries
- some exotics (Vex, Nechrochasm)
- the 'Adept' verions of ToO primaries (random element)
- the 'II' versions of PoE primaries (random element)
There are only two weapons with guaranteed void damage which are the Word of Crota and Atheon's Epilogue.

I forgot the mission name but, there's one mission on the moon where, you examine a dead guy with a cutscene that shortly follows.
After the cutscene ends, there is a shit ton of thralls that run out with knights behind them.
You can kill all the thrall and suicide and farm that.

He's talking about the PvP part of the Thorn bounty, not the 500 moon kills.

Play smart, it takes less than an hour to do. With a good void shotgun atleast.

Spent 20 minutes on Various LFG sites to see if i could finally run vault of glass normal mode, Nope after waiting i finally got on with someone and somehow they all just kept diying and we never got past the Hold the circles and open the sphire phase
Jeez id really like to give it a shot at the game raids but its really making it hard for me..

I would be totally fine with it if you just had to get 500 void kills, but the fact that you lose points every death is just the worst.

-Thorn sniping you cross map, while making you take DoT
-TLW killing you before you can even react because it has broken range for its DPS
-Felwinter tier shotguns that snipe you
-rockets that explode the moment you're even near them
-Heavy MGs with laser precision and high impact
Add on top of that someone that doesn't frequently step into crucible, pretty hard to stay alive
