I never mind competitive multiplayer games and I don't even mind when I'm performing awful but Trials is just full of scumbags and absolute morons, it's such a nuisance really. It's the first game where I really don't feel like playing such a mode.

You and I must be playing different Trials then, because everyone and their fucking mothers use Thorn+Felwinters+Tomorrows in Iron Banner. In Trials, a lot of people use red death, last word, and the messenger. Iron Banner is fucking infuriating, while Trials is a lot more competitive and fun
Trials is the best PVP experience in this game
If you don't like Trials it's because your team is either horrible, not cooperating, not working together, etc. It is so much fun, stop whining about a Thorn killing you, get good, and kill them before they can shoot you. Or use it yourself.

You're all dumbing him, but this is almost 100% true. Most of my complaints about Thorn went away when I accepted that people are gonna use it and I started using it myself. Even when I do really well, I don't have as much fun as when my team works really well together. Doing it with two good friends builds synergy, improves communication, and makes you better at the game as a whole.

I'm fucking sick of Thorn/TLW/Red Death, even. I want variety and I want players who use weapons that they are skilled with, not just a gun that can obliterate easy competition and force players of equal or higher skill into bad situations. My complaints about Thorn are just about the gun existing in it's current state, not the people who are inevitably gonna use it. Hopefully this patch really puts it in a place where people don't feel like they need to use it to compete.

The second week where I played Trials, frankly it was quite amazing. I had a good team and each fight was really tough and we actually had some opponents that didn't use any Thorns. Each fight was tense and quite thrilling.
Now this is where Trials shine but somehow I never got that experience again, always have awful opponents and I played Trials with friends and strangers alike. Overall most of the games are not that enjoyable to play except for one or two rounds where we meet people of equal skill or that don't use lame tactics.
As for accepting Thorns, sure it's alright if you just accept and use it yourself but Destiny is a game with such a nice variety weapons that all look and feel quite distinct, it's a unique trait of Destiny. But in Trials you mostly use the same gear instead of a more diversified arsenal. It's just so shallow to see everyone using a green hideous pistol. I just like some more variety and more weapons that are viable.
But it's alright for me, I seldom play Trials and enjoy the regular pvp more. It's just a matter of preference. I get more a thrill from Salvage with good buddies than doing Trials, it feels more tactical and encourages communication.

I agree with him about the reasons you might not like Trials but saying stuff like "get good just don't get hit" is pretty dumb
also saying "just use Thorn yourself" just further increases the problem in crucible right now, the horrible exotic hand cannon/high impact shotgun meta but sadly for some players they literally have no other option if they want to compete

In typical Kanye fashion he was right but said it like an asshole.
I know it's kind of lame to give in to the Thorn meta but at this point it's just too good to pass up. I'm training with the Messenger and Red Death in Rumble playlists to hone my skills with other weapons, but being able to track/kill people with the DoT is incredibly useful in Trials because of callouts and easy picks.
I've been running Oversoul edict lately and its actually fun to use.

Final word on the topic of Trials: Find the right team before you start calling it bad. People tryhard in it because its the most competitive and difficult PvP content in the game. It's more diverse, strategic, skillful, and more fun than Iron Banner 99% of the time.
Iron Banner is home to the worst experiences I've ever had in Destiny.
It's horrible and I hate it.

The Icebreaker is a better Exotic sniper rifle, but that's not to say the P&T isn't unique and fun to play with. I think it was worth it to buy it if you don't have an Exotic weapon or if you don't have an Exotic secondary.

Yeah this is literally my first one, I just wanted my first exotic really bad.
I've found it to be a really good camping sniper rifle since it's special ability lets you turn invisible while crouched.
Is it possible to get exotics and legendary's just through competitive multiplayer?

You're still seen due to sniper glint, the weapon is nearly useless in PvP.

Yeah, you get legendaries out the ass in Crucible, they're not really all that great though besides Iron Banner and ToO weapons. Exotics can be found too but it is rare.

Matador and Party Crasher are S-Tier shotguns
BTRD is the best heavy machine gun in the game
Spare Change with the right roll can compete with Messenger and Hopscotch Pilgrim
Split Shifter Pro is a great fusion rifle
Ash Factory is the 2nd best legendary rocket launcher in the game after Radegast's Fury
Ill Will can be rerolled to have a high chance of 2 shotting
Destiny is really pissing me off. This week's weekly heroic is physically impossible. The amount of other shit you have to kill along with the boss...and you only have three people. Fucking bullshit.

Legendaries are pretty common drops but exotics very rarely drop. If you plan on going in thinking you'll get an exotic, you'll get upset real quick. IMO just play for the fun of it, enjoy getting some of the best legendary weapons in the game like Matador, BTRD, Ash Factory, Spare Change, etc.
If an exotic drops for you, that's just a nice little bonus

I don't understand why you're having such a hard time with a heroic strike. Do you and/or your two squadmates not have void weapons or something? Just prioritize the servitors since they're the only fallen enemy that does void damage, and go ham on the archon priest with void snipers and rockets.
