Doing the weekly every week 3 times and not buying anything

If you do the weekly heroic strike on the hardest difficulty you get 9 strange coins. If you do this on 3 characters you get 27 guaranteed per week.
You also pretty often get strange coins from the chests in prison of elders.
I had two Ghorns drop within hours of each other, so now I have 3 :v:
I DID IT, I HAVE THE GJALLY.... So i somehow found this really neat guy that carried me trough the strke ( and oh god he spoke spanish hella yes ) not to mention it ended up being the NIGHTFALL strike so i was pretty much hugging walls the whole time ( level 29 titan ) but we frigging did it!, Used the strange coins straight away on the Gjally and oh god its so pretty
The one time that I wanted Gjallarhorn, and it's on a market for a certain amount of currency(17 strange coins) and I'm just starting the game (level 2 I think). Any tips for a new player hoping to get exotic gear?

The nightfall isn't what gives you guaranteed coins. It's the weekly.
I'm screwed. No Ghorn for me. Still only have 4 strange coin and I suck ass at all the weekly strikes. FML.

But the weekly is easier than the nightfall.
I have one free character slot which im leaving alone till I can enjoy the story with Nolanbot.
So am I screwed for getting the Ghorn if I only have 4 strange coin or is there a reasonable way to get the remaining 13 in the next few hours?

Same here. I'm doing my best to grind for leveling and nightfall strikes. Does the Crucible let you level up too?

I do them every week. And the dailys every day. The weeklys 99.9% of the time are physically impossible unless you have someone with exotic everything helping you. Playing at level 30 on my level 32 hunter... Can't do it with two others. And this bullshit with getting kicked back to orbit is a load of shit too.
That said, I'm done with this game. Does nothing but piss me off. Off to eBay.
if you need coins just do the weekly heroics
they are pretty easy, and not having anyone to do it with is no excuse, there are plenty of LFG tools you can use, there are probably even people who will willingly carry you if you feel you're not up to scratch skill or level wise

LFG hasn't helped me really much at all. And weeklies still take "weeks" to build up coin.

27 coins per week is a lot, add in random coins you'll get from engrams and stuff through the week and you should have enough to buy multiple items from xur each week... coins are not hard to come by at all
The weekly heroic has matchmaking, the nightfall does not. You don't get coins from the nightfall

27 from where? The weekly on each level only adds up to like 12.
No you get 9 max, per character. 3x9=27
