I just realized I picked the wrong sword, the Arc one is the worst at blocking Wizard attacks
Oh well, at least it sparks like Raiden's sword
is it just me or is nightstalker's ability rather lackluster for PvE? I can totally see the PvP benefit but it feels wasted on NPCs. You can pop one bigger dude with a good shot but then it just kind of inconveniences everyone around him, which the NPCs seem pretty quick to adjust to their situation and keep firing/finding the right cover, unlike a player would
lol you what mate
nightstalker is amazing for PVE, amazing utility + an absolute orb machine
How the fuck do you get a sword? I'm level 34 or something and I haven't gotten any quests for one.
Ugh, im forced to download some kind of 18gb patch and my PS4 downloads so much slower than my PC that instead of taking maybe 2 hours it's estimating it at 11 hours. And it's already been downloading for 10 hours so not only is the download speed slow, its getting slower. Really sucks not being able to play on launch day.
I love this DLC
Destiny isn't an MMO.
3 disagrees though? Destiny is not an MMO, it has the persitent world world of an MMO, it's content is developed and disturted like an MMO, but lacks distinct features to be an MMO, espeically player size, server size. Destiny is a Persistent Shared world RPG Shooter, not an MMO.

Uhhh, you're not being forced to download an 18 GB patch. The 18GB patch IS the Taken King content and the 2.0 update. You could have downloaded earlier in the week.

After you beat up Oryx, Lord Shaxx will give you a quest to farm 25 chests in the Dreadnought Patrol, then you can pick a sword that has one of three elements
There is so much shit that I'm overwhelmed
how did you open the chest?
and yes the nightblade strike is my favorite thing about TTK so far
You need one of those key orbs

Get the other ones via alt characters?

Alright thanks. I think I'm right on that mission to kill him.
Getting hit by a bunch of taken captains' black screen attacks at once feels like drowning in diarrhea.

I just beat him but I didn't get the quest. Level 37 so maybe its 38+
Light level 244. Think I might call it a night
Time to get my Warlocks subclass and see if I like it enough to switch from Hunter main.

How it feels to play as a Stormcaller.
4:43 if it doesnt work, but me irl on stormcaller.
i love all the strike specific legendaries
my friend got a darkblade helmet for titan
Is there a specific playlist you have to play to get those legendaries? Me and a buddy hit 250 light and finally feel like we might stand a chance in the heroic strike playlist

I got mine (Vex like gauntlets) off of the normal 36 strike, wasn't even from a playlist
Also, people say that even 10 light levels below, the heroic playlist is harder than balls of steel, and should only be done at 260
Does the dialogue change in the reef due to what happened to the [sp]queen[/sp]
I love how they explain the story kind of finally in TTK. Characters actually have dialogue and the cutscenes are great. I finally don't fucking hate Eris so much.
Though I still have no idea what the fuck the traveler is or how it died

I thought the vanilla story did OK hinting at things, here's my take:
>the traveler basically expended all its energy to halt the rapid encroachment of the darkness (so like, generating a field of light magic to prevent the dark magic from easily washing over everything and corrupting/extinguishing humanity). It gave its lifeforce to ensure we survive, so I guess it was cornered because if you're a superdimensional being of pure magic and energy I'm sure you could just be like "every man for himself" and run off to find another alien race to hang out with for a few eons
>The magic of the traveler and of the darkness are way over our heads so we only really have a physical understanding of the light and dark sides of [del]the force[/del] and how they affect everything, but we DO know that the shit that came with the aura of the darkness is obnoxiously hellbent on being assholes, therefore evil. Motivations aren't exactly clear, given there's no more light in the traveler to really seek and aquire, though the guardians do now carry some of that so the drive to take their ghosts might be something of value. Except for the cabal, they're just fighting shit for the hell of it pretty much
> Even if we did know more about the traveler/the light/darkness, a lot has been lost over the centuries. The golden age was a major time of human enlightenment, and even though society seems pretty technologically advanced at-present in the game, we're basically surviving off replicating technology of the past (engrams=blueprints or 3D Printer code downloads, whatever) because we lack the raw knowledge to create anything.
>That's also the explanation for the appearance of weapons and clothing in Splatoon
Destiny and Splatoon confirmed same universe
Are you a squid or a guardian?
I love how Zavala and Cayde keep on calling Eris out on her super edgy dark as darkie darkness dark crap
I couldn't think of anything from Destiny that rhymed with squid.
Just reached to level 25 with my main. I'm about ready to do my first raids. Anything I should know before I tackle Vault of Glass? Is it better if I run it first with friends?

I thought engrams were like encrypted transmat containers though?
As for the darkness, all the factions has a set goal:
Fallen - Steal and salvage for survival, hoping to reclaim their lost glory and honor.
Hive - Spread their dark vodoo religion to gain immortality.
Vex - Travel through space and time gathering data, striving to become unbeatable.
Cabal - Empty planets of their resources to fuel their enormous warmachine and ever-growing empire.
In any case, I'm having a blast with TTK so far. Story is more immersive than ever, new classes are tons of fun and the new weapons and armor brings much needed variety.
Just a tad sad that it took Bungie this long to make the universe truly "alive". Regardless I am looking forward to the future expansions eagerly.

all things considered I'm pretty proud of them for actually putting out two minor/medium expansions and now a massive overhaul, just on the one-year mark.
