Is it worth upgrading a sword to it's exotic version?
I personally don't see much reason, other than simply having it for completion's sake. I just can't see much use for it in PvE or even really PvP. Seems much more useful to use an exotic primary or even special weapon. I could never give up my Bad Juju for a heavy exotic!
Had to give up on oryx. :( guys I was playing with were on the east coast so it was 4 am. Were gonna hit it again next week, should fly through it after figuring out all the mechanics. [editline]20th September 2015[/editline] We got to step 3-4 out of something like 10 on oryx himself, so we accomplished something.
Is there a Year 2 Gjallarhorn?
I bought the game at release and enjoyed the gameplay but was sorely disappointed in the overall content and PvP. I come back later craving a little bit more of that gameplay, trying to see if it improved, to find that to actually play with any of the new content I have to shell out upwards of 100 dollars, and read rumors that the PvP has barely improved at all. As a bunch of people who are presumably enjoying and keeping up with the game, is it worth it for someone who just has the base game to buy all these passes and dlc and expansions and whatever, or should I just pass it up and wait for a definitive gold edition / destiny 2? I also don't really have a big group of people to play with, just a friend who himself swore the game off as a 'cash grab'
The taken king should come with all other dlc so you don't need to buy them. How sucks, CE is pretty good, but the taken king...man oh man.
I could never give up my Bad Juju for a heavy exotic!
I was the same with my Red Death until I got Vision of Confluence That being said, if you play a lot of PVP I don't think an exotic for the heavy slot is really necessary
Is this me or matchmaking for TTK strikes is broken. It always throws me alone.
I dunno it feels like an MMO to me except at a way smaller scale. People complain about grind all the time but it's really nothing in the grand scheme of playing the game.
It's not the grind that gets me, it's the lack of tools that would ease that grind. Not having some form of matchmaking for raids and no clan recognition outside of a title on your emblem effectively locks me out from the late-game content. It's one year in and you still have to rely on third-party websites to do that stuff in the most basic regard. I want to play more and improve my gear because the game is fun and plays well, but Bungie makes it difficult to do that.
The taken king should come with all other dlc so you don't need to buy them. How sucks, CE is pretty good, but the taken king...man oh man.
It does though? Anyway I got up to [sp]Golgoroth, the spider fuccboi[/sp] in the raid today. The [sp]Warpreist[/sp] was a bitch.
Wow, I play 5 games of rift back to back, carry every single one of them for my team and everyone on my team gets legendaries every fucking round except for me. I got strange coins or motes every time and I was ending the game with a 5:1 K:D
snip i was pissed
Yeah yeah, good zinger bro Normally I don't even pay attention to what my kills or deaths are but when I go on kill streaks every match I play in one morning, I start to notice (I SUCK at crucible) I was a little pissed that everyone is rewarded great gear for running around and doing seemingly nothing and I get jack. I know it's random and all but god damn how can my luck be so shit lol
wow man you are so cool
Huh? He's saying that he is doing best on his team and he didn't get anything; which is a valid complaint. :v:
wow man you are so cool
Any particular reason you're being a turbo douche to him?
wow man you are so cool
Found Oryx.
Anyone want to do anything on PS4 destiny today? Just got to 252 light; should probably hit 260 today. Got the Telesto exotic fusion rifle that shoots sticky void explosions that detonate separately; oh yes I love it
since there is no Year 2 Gjallarhorn, what's the next best thing?
sorry guys had a bad morning and took it out on random guy
The sword is so fucking good in Crucible if you can maneuver well. With shadestep and triple jump and sliding I can move around like a damned ninja and was untouchable. I believe I went on a 15 killing spree with it and managed to kill two enemies who were supering; love it.

That sword is so frustrating, nothing like putting a well placed shotgun into a sword users face the second before he shreds you a new one. How does ammo for that thing work anyhow?
So I came back to Destiny because of TTK, I pretty much gave up on Destiny at launch once I hit 20 because of how bad leveling was. Leveling is way less of a pain and I actually had fun with the missions, looks like they're starting to head in the right direction with Destiny. So I'm level 40 now, just trying to build my light level up I guess. What's the best way to do that? Just grind strikes? I'd like to give raids a shot at some point if I don't get burned out building up my light level.

Vendor gear doesn't matter as much anymore as a result. Some of the quests give really good rewards like high light weapons, so do them to get a leg up.
Don't waste your legendary marks on vendor gear. I bought a chest piece and I got something better within an hour. Now my worst piece of gear is better than anything the vendors sell. Save your marks for exotics or cryptarch engrams
so the raid is fantastic and I forgot what it felt like to overcome a hard as shit encounter with all your friends
Is the Taken King legendary edition bundle thing worth it? I've been meaning to check out Destiny for awhile now.
Is the Taken King legendary edition bundle thing worth it? I've been meaning to check out Destiny for awhile now.
it's basically a flat $20 each for the base game, 2 older DLC, and TTK, so yeah it's the best value for the game as a new player.
That sword is so frustrating, nothing like putting a well placed shotgun into a sword users face the second before he shreds you a new one. How does ammo for that thing work anyhow?
Regular attacks cost 1 ammo, air heavy attacks cost 2, blocking costs ammo over time and blocks melee attacks 100% at the cost of ammo

Yeah I'm mad I spent 40 on destiny, 40 on two ASS expansions and then 40 on ttk but then I remember how long I managed to play the game and that there's no subscription and the fact that 120$ doesn't go nearly as far as destiny has. I mean, a movie for 2 is easily 30$ and that lasts 2 hours
