I don't understand people who play Destiny but don't raid, it's pretty much the pinnacle of Destiny content, which there is a disturbing lack of anyway.

I never raided because I never knew anyone who would play with me but then my friend told me about destinylfg

I have no one to raid with, so I just play what content I can actually play. I always see threads on the Destiny subreddit about people joining groups only to get kicked because they do not have a certain weapon or armor. I do not want to deal with that.

I use destinylfg(.net, not .com) and a lot of the people on there can be like this but all you have to do is be not retarded and you can almost always figure out who's going to be like that and who won't.
If someone says "Vault of Glass Normal 29+" then they're probably not gonna care if don't have Gjallahorn and IceBreaker or have never done a raid before
if it says "VOG HARD 32 EXPERIENCED ONLY QUICK RUN" obviously those people aren't going to be okay with that
Even if you get kicked out, try again and find a different group. I've never been kicked twice consecutively, and I've actually only been booted twice ever. A lot of people are really nice and will be glad to help you learn so that you can eventually end up with those items (which only help, they aren't necessary). On Normal the raids can generally be done with 5 people anyway so if you just die over and over it wouldn't make a huge difference to them (as long as they know what they're doing)

Just finished a level 28 weekly strike with my titan. Took a minute or 20, but we did it. Got my coins, another legendary chest piece for my titan, and my helm of saint 14.
I got 2 legendary engrams from the cryptarch today, so i went to my friend and informed him.

I was messing around on my titan in a ROC strike earlier and I got an idea... Ward of dawn with the armor of dawn perk, which gives me enough damage resistance that the boss can't one hit me with his melee...I dropped my dome and wailed on the boss a bunch, not sure how much damage I did but it didn't kill me. :v:
Now I've also got a legendary shotgun...I wonder how well that would go?

For me personally it's because there's no matchmaking for raids (which sucks) and because nobody that I know play Destiny on the 360. :(

There is no raid matchmaking for a good reason.
One bad group doesn't spoil them all, keep searching on LFG or use the100 as said earlier.

I've played about 2-300 hours so far and haven't raided once.
what do you actually do if you're not raiding? you are missing out on the best content in the game

Strikes, Patrols, fucking about in missions.
I can completely understand not wanting or even refusing to use LFG because of the quality of players, but raiding really is a rewarding experience all on it's own outside of the loot. Part of the fun of raiding is learning the mechanics and then playing your part and eventually being able to execute it perfectly.
I'm also surprised more people don't use this thread to try and get raids going; I know I found most of the people in my regular group from doing that. If I saw the opportunity to, I'd even be glad to throw myself in to other groups from here who just need one more or someone with experience, but it just seems like this thread is dead.

primaries are always 23, it's just specials and heavies that are 17

Lucky for me, my shotgun does void damage. Can't seem to convince the archon priest to enter the thunderdome though. When he does though I fuck him up quite a bit.
