Modding isn't just mods. In a way it's a form of marketing itself. It generates a buzz and is a positive feature that draws people to your game.
This is part of the reason I'm making my first "real" mod be me as a follower - if someone reuploads it, then I can get it taken it down via the DMCA (there's precedent that says someone's voice is their intellectual property) Also
I have RLO installed and everything's peachy, except my FPS takes a nosediving shit when I look at excessive amounts of fire I'm sure it can be fixed, but Googling "realistic lighting overhaul fire lag" isn't giving me any help. Ideas?
I still need help with this. This wouldn't normally be a thing that makes the game unplayable, but Skyrim has quite a lot of fire.
If we need to split the cost between 3 companies / people (Valve, Beth, and content creator) 33% across the board seems the most fair. Valve needs to host servers for content, Bethesda for the tools and base game, content creator for the mod. Everyone on equal terms.
Valve already makes plenty of money off of Steam's massive game library and Bethesda has been swimming in cash since the release of Skyrim. I think the plutocrats can survive without an extra 33% each in mod revenue.
its never going to happen like that, though.
the day they implement paid mods the exact same events that happened last time will transpire
the day they implement paid mods the exact same events that happened last time will transpire
Except with Bethesda.net, they won't have to hope Valve sticks to their guns on it, Beth will be in full control.
the very fact that up until now i didnt know bethesda.net was a thing should show how much it actually means for paid mods
I wish TES had M&B style combat, or there was a TES mod for M&B.
I'm looking for a racemenu/character editor mod that adds more options and bigger ranges on the sliders that isn't a huge abomination of 'beautiful' potato faces mods. Stuff like changing weights on individual limbs to make a character that isnt either a twig or Ahnuld in the flesh. Does this exist?

I have another question about ESO, this time regarding the explorer's pack bonuses. I made a new character to play with a friend but found that the maps do not appear in the mailbox for that character. I haven't used them yet but I noticed one is for Cold Harbour and I have no idea if I'll even be able to go back with my first character unless it's an endgame version of that area. So what happens when I use a map? Do I lose it forever with a one time use or does it stay in my inventory? Oh and I was thinking of buying the Imperial upgrade for the "free" horse, does that go to all characters as well like the Scuttle Pet does?

[t]http://i.imgur.com/C2ehg0v.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/8fUlvgu.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/2b58RuF.jpg[/t] Welcome to Skyrim, where your most wicked creations came come to life.
I tried ESO tonight, and though I liked the character creation, I got to the first town and was instantly repelled by the MMO masses running around like idiots with all their pets and no pants. But it's an MMO, you say. Yeah, and that's why I don't play MMOs. I was getting pretty in the mood to do this thing before that, too, but that was gone the instant I stepped outside, evaporated in the face of the galloping hordes, destroyed by the fact that I had to share this now very obvious game space with hyperactive also-chosen-ones and their flying names and health bars. I hate you multiplayer. /oldmangrump
From SH http://www.gamespot.com/articles/bethesda-talks-skyrims-paid-mods-controversy/1100-6428952/ Are you guys ready for more paid mods?
Again, once that door is opened, you can bet it won't be closed. The pros are Bethesda will finally have to for real fix their shit because any other path is litigation nirvana and the lawyers WILL burn down the gates. So once and for all, Bethesda QA will actually have to become a thing, and it will have to be ironclad, else they'll go bankrupt from litigation. Also mods will get better for the same reason. The double edged of p2w whales is that they have the money to spend on 10000 dollars worth of mods a year for bragging rights, which means they also have that same amount of money to retain legal means of making sure your shit works, and there is no EULA in existence that can circumvent this. Modders will also have real incentive to make sure their shit works, and not just works for their personal set of mods. The cons are also much the same. We saw respected members of the modding community turn into douchebags, and we also saw in depth modders literally turn out a week's worth of work and charge a third of the base price of the game for them, and we saw supposed bulwarks of the community take other people's shit without their permission and incorporate it into their own "work" and due to Steam's absolutely shit submission and oversight system, those people whom had their stolen literally had little to no recompense other than steam's vague promises to protect them. The split is also bullshit, and just because other communities are willing to get pennies/scraps for instant weapon skins turned out into 40 minutes with stock photoshop filters, doesn't mean stuff like Perma or SMIM should be remotely subjected to the same level of commoditization.

It's free if you use a Wayshrine to teleport to another. Just right click on your map until you zoom all the way out, it's there. As for the horse, don't buy the imperial edition for the horse. Buy the imperial edition so you can use any race with any faction (Which you get with the explorer's pack). The cheap horse is 10k and once bought is available to all of your characters, even new ones. You'll have 10k by the time you hit level 14ish if that long, if you save it. (There's not much else to spend the money on at the low levels anyway except repairs, which you shouldn't need since you'll be upgrading constantly) As for the maps, they should stay in your inventory until you dig up the treasure, upon which they are then consumed
he wants to port it to bannerlord, so dont expect to play it anytime soon
Damn, and we don't even have an ETA on that either.

So I'll hold off on the horse. Its not even a needed thing anyways. As for the way shrine, I didn't see one in cold harbour but I'll look again next time I hop on.

Bit of a shot in the dark here, but does anyone here happen to have a copy of the morrowind exe optimizer (not the 4gb patch)? I'm looking to start a new modded morrowind playthrough but the only place it's available for download is on the creator's sourceforge page, which is currently down. If someone could upload a mirror, that'd be awesome.

Found this today, never seen it before [t]http://i.imgur.com/YqVIjIf.jpg[/t]
I don't usually ask for this, but could someone help me out with my Skyrim load order? http://modwat.ch/cwook#/plugins
I don't usually ask for this, but could someone help me out with my Skyrim load order? http://modwat.ch/cwook#/plugins
What's the problem? But then again.. there are quite a few mods I'm completely unfamiliar with
What's the problem? But then again.. there are quite a few mods I'm completely unfamiliar with
Game crashes when I start a new game. I don't really know where to start. I'm disabling mods individually right now.
Game crashes when I start a new game. I don't really know where to start. I'm disabling mods individually right now.
I'm not even sure if disabling and enabling mods at whim even works anymore, like it used to (if ever) Did you try Mod Organizer?
If your game is crashing at startup, that could be a hundred different things.
Game crashes when I start a new game. I don't really know where to start. I'm disabling mods individually right now.
Hmm, so you can make it to the main menu? Did you check for any dependencies? Sometimes an insta-crash means an ESP is looking for a master and can't find it. I get crashes like that all the time when I accidentally install a compatibility patch for something I don't have. Mod Organizer and LOOT will help too.
I really don't get why so many people recommend Mod Organizer. Sure its a ok tool, but its so much simpler and easier to just install mods manually and then organize and make bashed patches with wrye bash.
Then you manage to fuck up one thing or install something in the wrong order and have it overwrite something important and you're fucked because of it. MO is 1000 times easier than manually installing anything. That is dark age shit at this point and I'd like to never do it again.
