I just want one game/mod that takes place in the Black Marsh.
I just want one game/mod that takes place in the Black Marsh.
That or Valenwood or Elswyer. Needs more crazy fantasy rather than grey nordic or western fantasy.
I'd rather for everyone that's making these "explore other lands" mods to just team up and put all their collective effort into one, huge expansive mod so theres a lot more content.
I'm putting my bets on Hammerfell for next TES game. I thought it would be boring at first, but deserts have become less of a thing in video games lately so it's not as generic of an environment, and there's a lot of cool lore for the Redguards. Also, it's the remaining human-oriented province, it's directly involved in the conflict with the Aldmeri Dominion, and it has a strong Thu'um and Dovahkiin equivalent with Sword Singing and the Hoon Ding. Also, coming out of Skyrim with its "Talos is the coolest guy ever to live and we love him forever", seeing how the Redguards feel about him would be interesting.
Be a good excuse to put in different fighting forms for weapons. Like, you start out with a basic "I don't really know what I'm doing" form with a given weapon then you can learn more refined forms, all of which can be improved and expanded. Hopefully with a way to shake up the combat system as well, I mean there are mods that can make combat in Skyrim pretty intense but it could still be done better. Actually, it doesn't matter where they set the next TES game, that needs to be a thing.
I'd love Hammerfell just for the fact there aren't enough fantasy settings with african/middle eastern elements The only other game I know that had something like that would be [t]http://img.gamefaqs.net/box/3/0/6/75306_front.jpg[/t]
Bethesda don't have the balls to do something alien. It's going to be either hammerfell or high rock. If it's something else, you can bet the entire population will be replaced with imperials.

Oblivion was generic fantasy, Skyrim the small twist on fantasy with its darker and more realistic themes, and slight touch on TES' metaphysics nonsense. The main series games up to Skyrim were planned before Morrowind was in development (the opening of Redguard has a book self with four books labeled - Redguard, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim), so where they'll go from here is a mystery. They could easily make Hammerfell into alien fantasy, we don't know much beyond "desert and proud warrior race with tone-based WMDs from an odd variant of Atlantis with elements of many cultures", and I doubt they'll limit themselves to ESO's depiction.

I really want them to weird hammerfell up, or make it totaly epic. Or epicly weird. I kinda want a Mount and blade style fast travel Complete with bringing an army with you Roaming mounted bandits. Player interference with politics Getting your own fief/region But somehow keep all the good elder scrolls stuff there. The potions. The skills that get better when you use them. The arsenal of spells, The potions and fantasy materials and monsters.

If they make Hammerfell there better be some kind of thirst and heat system in the game, and the desert better be fucking huge and have a ton of cool, semi-secret stuff to find on your own to make that general vasteness fun to explore. I feel awful knowing that I might be asking too much from that sentence alone.
Just get an enchanted item which makes you ignore the effects of the desert. Simple. Also, I imagine potions to be quite filling.
So some guy made Half-Moon Mill out of Lego and I gotta say, its pretty fucking cool In-game pictures for comparison
a heat and thirst system sounds really obtrusive and annoying really unless its optional, it seems really unnecessary in most rpgs, the player can assume that the character eats/drinks/shits/pisses as they travel and it would be uninteresting to keep doing that as you play imagine in skyrim if you had to take a piss 3 times each ingame day
I'm really split on this. On the one hand, it would get across the whole "enormous desert of infinite heat death" thing, and make sure you know damned well the Alik'r are hardened badasses. Plus, it would create a pretty natural feeling high level area (since Bethesda seems to be learning how to make that work with Fallout 4) - the center of Hammerfell is a vast desert, difficult to travel through but filled with hidden secrets, while the border regions and coastline, where all of the major cities that players need to have easy access too are located, are more pleasant. On the other hand, this is an RPG, not an action game or survival simulator, and this kind of thing usually doesn't really fit in an RPG, and could easily get really obtrusive. It's probably best if it's left up to the modders tbh. edit: also, this [t]http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/68264-4-1438125978.jpg[/t] curious how it took this long for this to become a thing [sp]i totally didn't download it[/sp]
If you guys are talking about having a weird fantasy TES game, why not Black Marsh? Strangifying Hammerfell seems kind of out of place, considering the Black Marsh's weirdness is only second to Morrowind's. Besides, after Skyrim's depiction of Argonians I am really looking forward to having a game fully dedicated to them, they looked pretty rad.
I think they should all be as weird as morrowind. Even the human provinces. Daggerfall might be 'bog standard' fantasy, but it's incredibly bizarre pulp fantasy. Just look at the outfits the people wore.

Besides, after Skyrim's depiction of Argonians I am really looking forward to having a game fully dedicated to them, they looked pretty rad.
I can't see a whole game being devoted to Black Marsh or Elsweyr (at least not an open sandbox one, the third TES Adventures game was going to be set in Elsweyr). Partially because the Khajiit and Argonians have a somewhat difficult voice to imitate, so chances are if we got one 90% of the characters would have the same voice actor; partially because they're both very small provinces. I could see an Elsweyr/Valenwood combined game, since the two are really strongly linked, have similar environments but very different aesthetics (so they could reuse a lot of environmental assets, but you could still distinguish the two provinces) and both are small provinces. Maybe some of Black Marsh could be in there too, but a big part of Black Marsh's thing is being a mysterious place that only the Argonians can survive in. Also, I hope if they ever make a game in Valenwood, they combine Michael Kirkbride's "old-school creepy faerie forest masquerading as a modern happy one" thing with ESO's "mini Africa with tree-dwelling cannibal elves" thing. Not enough fantasy games based on the non-desert parts of northern Africa, not enough fantasy anything that goes back to real old Celtic faeries. For those with no idea what i mean about Kirkbride having the Bosmer with a bit of an old school faerie thing, apparently there was concept art for the Bosmer where the females are pretty much what we have now, but the males were ugly troll/goblin/etc. like creatures because their "glamour" ran out; this is why male Bosmer had slight horns and were super ugly in Morrowind. [t]http://www.daryam.com/michael/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Bosmer.jpg[/t] I'm happy they dropped the gender distinction thing without completely dropping the idea of glamour, even if it isn't called that anymore (pretty sure it turned into the idea that the Green Pact and Yffre is needed to maintain their corporeal forms, and the Wild Hunt), but the Bosmer need a little something to make them as interesting as the other elves. edit: also if wood elves aren't limited to those creepy all-black eyes next game i'll be sad edit some more: also this post is getting really long, but they wouldn't have to shoehorn in Hammerfell being weird. We don't know a lot of specifics about it because it's so independent from the rest of the Empire. We know they have a giant desert of unlimited death, we know they have a Middle Eastern flair to everything, with a hint of African tribal culture. We have an inkling about their bizarre religion, the only one in the TES universe known to not share most of their gods with every other race's pantheons; in fact, they have loads of completely unique gods, apparently including a God of We Have Too Many Gods - kind of an anomaly in a universe where all the gods exist. And we know that there was some weird stuff going on in Yokuda, what with splitting the atomos and Orichalc Tower.

Now all I can think of when I see a wood elf is the Annoying Fan
I kinda think that skyrim didn't do the races justice, even though it massively improved on their face gens. Bosmer don't have their black eyes and creepy voices Dunmer don't have the swept back ears and the godly dunmer voices. They should also go back to having entirely red eyes with no iris/pupil. just red orbs. Redguards aren't ment to be 'black Arabs'. Their skin should be more red, and the African american voice suited them. Altmer should some day evolve beyond being Entirely unlikeable cunts. They've yet to do that. I mean the morrowind dunmer were arseholes, and yet you could appreciate them, scum Nords should some day evolve from beyond being stupid and unlikeable Bretons should get a little 'elf' to them. Khajiit and argonians looked so much better, and yet the lore demands even more variety from them. They DID improve on the way Orcs looked and sounded. Though they botched the armour and weapons.
So uh, has anyone had trouble installing nexus mods after updating to windows 10? I was installing a mod , and it's been sitting at 61% for like 20 minutes, and it consistently does this even after resetting nexus mod manager.
imagine in skyrim if you had to take a piss 3 times each ingame day
I imagine it would end like this except with a bear or some other thing that wants to kill you.
honestly though, if someone replaced the animations in fallout new vegas from drinking toilet water to taking a piss or shit i would love it
I am 98% certain there's a mod or two that add bathing/using the bathroom to hardcore needs, but I don't know if it comes with animations or anything like that because I never used it.
