I have a few bucks to spend, so Redguard or Battlespire?
I have a few bucks to spend, so Redguard or Battlespire?
Battlespire is more of a classic TES experience by the way of Ultima Underworld. Redguard is comparable to Tomb Raider from what i've heard/seen
Battlespire is more of a classic TES experience by the way of Ultima Underworld. Also first TES game to [sp] have a dragon.[/sp]
Also first TES game to [sp] have a dragon.[/sp]
Is it actually cool or is it Skyrim
Is it actually cool or is it Skyrim
Obviously its looks ingames are hindered by being an ancient game [sp]and by the wiki not having a full-body screenshot[/sp] but its art and backstory is pretty badass.
IIRC It was a DOSBox issue, not the game, but it's still something GOG could take care of so I'll probably still get it.
Like I said, GOG would have fixed any issues if the game runs in DOSBox. DOSBox is open source, so if it was a bug in DOSBox, it would be fixed, and if it was a bug in Redguard itself, then DOSBox would be modified to work around it for Redguard.
Redguard is awesome but the terrible framerate is an issue, mostly because it's not capped or constant. I'm fine with a really old game only running at 20 fps but when it suddenly springs at 60/70fps and the game literally runs three times faster it's annoying.
It's done in ENB and SweetFX. ENB does all the pixelated DOS effect, bloom and few brightness settings. SweetFX does all the colors vibrance. Skyrim's colors are so desaturated. That'd be super great if someone could figure it out. I believe it should be possible with coding only. I mean Skyrim's Facial movement aren't silky smooth 60fps, I think their facial movements are in 30fps or so. So I'm guessing getting that code and put it on animations? so the anims are 30fps or lower? I dunno. I'm no coder. If people want the pixelated graphics ENB+SweetFX files and few tips with ini tweaks, rate Rainbows.
Did anything come out of this?
Did anything come out of this?
I think ENB already comes with a DOS like effect in one of the optional folders. no it doesn't :frown:
Might give that a try. Currently have "Stakado Cinemascope ENB" but it doesn't feel that good. Didn't play for long tho, barely installed the ENB. What was good about Stakado's is that it included the ENB .dll files from their developer archive or something, not that they're hard to download separately.. But now I can just copy and overwrite different ENBs to see which works for me.
I used to use Stakado's but it seemed to add this weird pink to the game. Though it does have some flaws I'd def. go with RealLike, the performance is great if you disable depth of field.

Someone also ported it to Reshade: http://reshade.me/forum/shader-suggestions/1053-dos-game-effect#8342
Redguard is pretty cool. It introduces a lot of the cool lore that made the later games so unique. Like, it fleshes out Redguard and Imperial culture a bit, turned the Dwemer into high-tech steampunk elves instead of generic fantasy dwarves, turned Khajiit into cat-people instead of weird jungle-humans with tails, to name a few things.
Cyrus is also a really cool character.
Cyrus is also a really cool character.
so cool that he got his own song in Oblivion

Although I prefer it auto-focusing DoF, I've read static DoF drops FPS only but who knows, does RealLike have it? Also you think RealLike can be just copied and overwritten over the Stakado's? It should work..
Cyrus is also a really cool character.
Cyrus is a glorious badass, who may or may not be equivalent to a Dragonborn.
Is there any quick way to resize a mesh using Nifskope or some other tool? I've tried this right-click option called "Edit" and turning the scale down a bit, but it doesn't seem to do anything to the ingame mesh whenever it's loaded. I don't have Blender and it's kind of a pain in the dick to have to get that and then set up all the scripts to properly import and export .nif files.
You have to right click and press "Apply" before you save and exit, otherwise the changes won't appear ingame. However, using this method can sometimes fuck up the collision mesh.

I finally started playing Daggerfall seriously while waiting for the Unity version. and I seriously regret not getting Recall because I'm completely lost trying to find my way out of a dungeon. [editline]27th August 2015[/editline] In fact the only magical item I have is an amulet that shoots a super powerful projectile but can do just as much damage to me when I use it.

So I'm re-setting up my Skyrim mods and all that. Is PerMa still recommended as the number 1 overhaul mod? Or is vanilla considered better than the overhauls?
So I'm re-setting up my Skyrim mods and all that. Is PerMa still recommended as the number 1 overhaul mod? Or is vanilla considered better than the overhauls?
I got really tired of Patchus Maximus so I switched to Ordinator and it's approximately 1000x less of a pain to set up.
I got really tired of Patchus Maximus so I switched to Ordinator and it's approximately 1000x less of a pain to set up.
Seconding Ordinator, it's pretty cool and actually simpler to install than PerMa, SkyRe, SPERG, and most of the other overhauls too.
Did anything come out of this?
Reinstalled Skyrim and forgot to backup it. I can give short explanation how to do it. First you need, ENB, ENB Dos and SweetFX 1.5.1 Extract all files to Skyrim folder, open up Effect.txt in notepad and find xs=float2(320.0, 240.0); I'm using widescreen monitor 16:9, so I used 720, 405. Open SweetFX's Settings text file and add Vibrance and Tonemap. Give some saturation in Tonemap and extra Vibrance. (Optional) - Turn off Shadows completely through ini file and then download Colorful Lights, change texture quality to low and get DynDOLOD for that extra old school visuals. Start Skyrim, open up ENB menu and add Bloom and Ambient Occlusion and give at least 2.00 strength or more and use AOtype 2. If your game is still lacking colors. In the ENB menu you can find Effect something and add even more saturation.
I finally started playing Daggerfall seriously while waiting for the Unity version. and I seriously regret not getting Recall because I'm completely lost trying to find my way out of a dungeon.
Only pussies get Recall. Try to memorize it like a man. Takes months but you'll eventually figure out how the dungeon generator builds it. or you could just cheat straight to exit or next to the quest objective. I had few quests where the quest item was in tiny room and there was 0 ways to get in, no doors, no skull teleports or brick wall. Nothing.
Oh god
I would like to have a modified Duck (a Booby): [t]http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/e1/fa/9a/e1fa9a01c102d72c7de81efb973d4fcb.jpg[/t] and a donkey; or please PM me tutorial links on how to do it myself; that works just as well. Yep, Im going there. I want to add in a small homestead, the "T&A Farm" Famous for its Giant Boobies and Hot AssTM; in this case two large birds (ducks scaled to man-sized) and..... I dont know what to do to the donkey yet. I dont know if it should be a flaming familiar, or just red colored, or what. Any suggestions?
http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3170794-models-or-turtorials-to-make-myself-please/
So I'm re-setting up my Skyrim mods and all that. Is PerMa still recommended as the number 1 overhaul mod? Or is vanilla considered better than the overhauls?
I feel a bit iffy about PerMa now because as cool as it is, very few people seem to have a bug-free experience with it. I second Ordinator too, because it still has lots of interesting perks, but it seems a lot more stable with it.
I learned that the entrance to a dungeon in Daggerfall is on the automap and found my way out in like 30 seconds. I feel so stupid because I spent so long in there and my health was so low it turned into a game of first person medieval Hotline Miami At last I was able to complete the quest in time and start the main quest.
