Anyways, came across this big outdoor battle between the Stormcloaks and Imperials, while traveling to a quest destination with my Dark Elf bitch (Fast Travel disabled duh) and I wondered, which one should I actually join? Do either of them even like Dark Elves? "True sons" of Skyrim?

Dark Brotherhood. Murder both sides.

Dark elves hate pretty much everybody so do what you will. Stormcloaks hate you back, though.

Nords in Skyrim are really paranoid because of the whole "you no longer have a god and also we suck elf dick" mandate, so I can understand them being racist and generally unpleasant. I like the idea of a dark elf/argonian character joining the Stormcloaks and, via killing Tullius and giving the Nords a chance to rule themselves for like 2 secs before the Thalmor kill everyone, prove that their respective race isn't gonna stomp all over their beliefs or heritage. Happy times.

Happy times.[/QUOTE] I like that idea as well, since while I'm a staunch Imperial as far as Skyrim politics go I can understand why Nords would be distrustful of literally everybody else. (The Thalmor really aren't strong enough to take over much of anything, though; canonically the Empire technically "won" the war by bleeding off the Dominion's army, but opted to take a peace treaty due to Cyrodil being turbofucked while the Summerset Isles were more or less untouched. There's a reason the Thalmor are mostly diplomats.)

Both are staunchly traditional and fearful of outside influence, but the Dunmer are a cold, spiteful people associated with fire, while Nords are stupidly stubborn but deeply passionate and warm hearted, and associated with ice. Also they're right next to each other, both have giant mountains in their provinces which also serve as Towers, both are connected to Lorkhan in some way, and both think High Elves are stupid. Also, the Thalmor are pretty powerful. What the Altmer lack in numbers they make up for in sheer strength and trickery; plus the Khajiit and Bosmer are on their side whether they like it or not. They could take on the Stormcloaks or the Empire after the loser has been weakened by the Civil War. The only reason they didn't outright attack the Empire was because they overestimated the Legions; the only reason they agreed to a truce was because they didn't expect the Legions to push back.

I just had to uninstall skyrim due to it just generally being unstable was having issues with it just randomly closing with no skyrim has stopped responding just straight to the desktop. Would that of been to mod issues or is skyrim just unstable? Also is the step gude still wotth following?

I might just download the game again the only real major mods i had were a fee"w overhauls hunting etc and expanded towns and cities . Then again it might be leftover files i once updated mods from some mods which hadnt been updated in a while and started a new game might of been some hangover. What im going to now is probably follow the step guide.

It never really happens though, with +60 mods installed. I only use MO to launch the game mostly, mods I install either directly from Steam Workshop, or MANUALLY from Nexus. Also about guides, personally after a clean uninstall and unsubscribing everything for fresh install on a new PC, I just basically looked everywhere, GEMS collections and others. First off the bat, after the essentials and launching the game for 1st time ofc., I simply clicked +40 mods from Workshop. Then launch game see if it works, it did. Then Nexus mods or ENBs (MANUALLY AGAIN, I settled with easier solutions) and works fine to this day. Except I need to update SkyUI (probably manually again) it gives me a notification each time you load a game.

Trying to play through the Helgen Reborn mod again; I completely forgot there was a Living in Oblivion reference in this mod.

So in the Hard Answers quest from Skyrim, why are the markarth guards attacking me in calcemo's lab if i got the key properly after killing the spider? If it's a bug, it's a pretty game breaking one.

Allied with the thieves guild, terrible at fighting, afraid of sharp object so only clubs and maces allowed. My recent save got bloated as fuck by dual sheath redux so it became unusable (takes ten seconds to save, so the game freezes up every time I enter a new cell).

Jumped back into playing Skyrim, might start streaming again. It there a consensus on a lore-friendly set of town upgrades and HD texture packs? Also, what's the present pick for load-order sorting?

Don't know about texture packs, but for towns definitely get Expanded Towns and Cities. It just gives a new lease of life to everything besides the big five, and is super well made. For hold capitals the two big ones are JK's Skyrim and Dawn of Skyrim. I prefer Dawn of Skyrim because it adds new NPCs as well as statics, but JK's honestly has more visual appeal.

I personally prefer JK's stuff because, as you said, adds visual appeal. Also I don't use the Dawn of Skyrim mods cause it needs Hearthfire and I can't be assed to by that.

I've been having problems with DynDOLOD and I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out what's wrong, but I don't want to just go ahead and do a fresh install. I installed a few mods, almost all of them graphical in nature (list + order seen below). The issue is that, despite my having seemingly followed all the instructions exactly, DynDOLOD cannot detect that papyrusutil has been installed (which it has), evidenced by the constant message of "DynDOLOD requires PapyrusUtil" appearing on the screen. I tried googling it and found someone having issues with ENB, but I don't have an ENB installed. Has anyone had experience with an issue like this before? [t]http://i.imgur.com/LKFChHq.jpg[/t]
