i've seen it happen
Usually in those cases they have adware installed already.
Now that it's working, share your stories when you get some good ones. Requiem campfire stories are some of the best.
I already got one.
So I try for the cave right near Riverwood (I used alt start mod and made a pure mage character by the by), I make it through the first two bandits alright, but low on mana. After regaining it I lower the bridge and fight three at once, I kill one but run away as by this point I learned that one shit from a weapon can kill me unarmored and in fur armor. So as I'm running away, fumbling to remember how to sprint, I accidentally trip the rock trap at the entrance and my two remaining pursurers are crushed by the rocks.
I managed to reach the treasure room, but the last room was difficult because of the numbers in said room, and the Argonian with the cross bow.
Also afterwards I had an exciting duel with a frostbite spider where I died multiple times before finally killing it, for a crappy alchemy ingredient when I wasn't studying alchemy :v:.
Any tips on managing spells? Money is hard to come by, and carry weight means I can't just take the most valuable stuff off things and sell them for money, and I think I might have to upgrade to heavy armor, though I already wasted my three perks on spell related perks.
[editline]14th September 2015[/editline]
Also I might just restart as a Warrior instead since I feel that would perhaps not be "easier" than trying for a mage.
[editline]14th September 2015[/editline]
Also the "exciting" spider battle where I hide behind a rock while my mana regenerates.

Mages are shitlords in Requiem because literally everything in the game from taking damage to wearing armor makes spells unusable. Even wearing gauntlets and boots will increase spell cost to enormous amounts, despite vigilants of stendarrs (who are fucking dweeb-ass useless jobbers in the lore) wearing exactly that and still being able to cast spells.
Also, arrows are stupidly broken in Requiem. Getting hit by a single arrow while not wearing any armor or light armor will instantly murder you, but wear one piece of heavy armor and suddenly arrows just plink right off even though heavy armor was never designed to stop arrows (yet another attempt by a modder to do something "realistic" when really it just fucks with logic).
Also, requiem changes values on everything and makes the game impossibly hard but doesn't actually rework any of the starter dungeons to be easier so that it's still possible to start somewhere without reloading the game fifteen times and scumming through every dungeon. Silent Moons Camp is nearly impossible to approach early on because everyone has bows and are located on higher grounds so getting anywhere near means instant death (since requiem doesn't disable the auto aim bandit archers come with) despite it being one of the earliest dungeons in the game.

I suppose then I might just go Warrior afterall, and try for Vanilla start again to see if installing Req proper fixed it.
Also on a unrealted note, what the fuck is a "jobber", I've heard it since the VGWC streams, but I have no idea what it means.
A jobber is someone who's so shit he makes other shitters look good in comparison.
Also if you play Requiem you have to keep in mind you literally start out as a peasant who can't do shit regardless of what roleplay start you pick. Your skills suck and you have to find a trainer to get them up to par to even begin, which makes the mod incredibly tedious because Skyrim has a very limited amount of trainers and most of them aren't available from the get go.
Basically just take on odd jobs in whiterun and use the money to pay Amren for training, repeat until you're at 50 one handed, then become a companion and pay farkas to train you in heavy armor. Once these two skills are up to par, you can consider hitting a few skeevers in the face.
Starting as a mage is nearly out of the question because in order to gain access to all college trainers you need to complete a mission that involves killing draugr and a gauldurson, and they're impossible to even dent if you're anywhere below level 20 in Requiem.
Honestly after your posts and my recent frustrating attempt at Warrior, I seriously think Req is a bit too "hardcore hardcore" for me.
By which I mean hardcore gameplay, designed for people who are super into Masochism. (No offense to anyone in here.)
Maybe there are mods that toughen up the game but are merciful enough not to make a bandit with Orcish armor anally rape my ass with their Elven Axe?
[editline]14th September 2015[/editline]
As I put it, there are two types of hardcore modes.
Hardcore A. Designed by sane people to be a tougher, somewhat unforgiving experience that makes sure newcomers dipping their toes into the idea don't get discouraged and learn that it's ok to not feel like a badass all the time.
Harcore B. Designed by Sadists that thrive off always impossible odds and overcoming them either through moon logic, or just the purest fucking dumb luck imaginable...or folks that cheat. The only people attracted to these hardcore experiences are masochists that love being beaten bloody everywhere at level 1 by level 100 Drauger Gimplords.
Oh boy and you thought installing mods was hard?
I hope you have your agility leveled because it's time for some HOOP JUMPIN if youre planning on uninstalling requiem.
I would really, really, really, really, really recommend against ever installing difficulty overhaul mods for literally any game ever, specially Skyrim because of exactly that; it's not challenging, it's just straight up bullshit. Most of the time things are overdone to hell and back and it's just not exactly something worth bothering with unless you wanna spend a couple hours of your own editing all those values somehow.
Especially avoid difficulty or gameplay altering mods if you have loads of different mods on. Besides potential incompatibilities, the gameplay mods aren't gonna take whatever else you have on into consideration.
i.e. I was using Action Combat for while. One of the things it changes is causing the player or NPCs to be briefly stunned after taking a hit, with the length of the stun depending on how much damage they took, the weight of the armor, and what hit them. I'm sure get hit with vanilla spells for 0.2 seconds or so of stunning is ok, but Apocalypse Magic adds a couple fast firing low level spells and I was getting stunlocked all over the place. Also arrows stun for just as long, and one of my mods was adding THOUSANDS OF SKELETON ARCHERS EVERYWHERE.
Clearly the best diffuiculty mod is Deadly Mutilation and set it at 100% chance to instakill at 100% health. It's fair because everyone dies equally easily. :v:
I don't mind the old fallback Overhaul for Skyrim, T3nd0s Skyrim Redone, it's perfectly fine as a general overhaul.
Though apparently he moved on to another version of his mod called Perkus Maximus, not sure if I should upgrade to that really, given Skyrim Redone works perfectly fine, and I'd have to restart my playthrough I'm assuming.
If you want something challenging for Skyrim, disable all instant death bullshit like the instant death kill animations and play on a single save. Your character dies, he's gone for good.
On top of that you can also install immediate dragons and maybe a couple mods that buffs them to give you an actual thing to fear in the wilderness.
I always thought the game was more enjoyable with "light" mods that are designed to change the experience without making it harder because Skyrim isn't mechanically complex enough to warrant instant kill enemies and such bullshit. This isn't dark souls, you can't roll with invincibility frames and there aren't ten stats dedicated solely to your damage resist. Making mods that just buffs shit will just make the game impossible.
And PerMa is fine but takes forever to install due to the immense patch.
play on a single save. Your character dies, he's gone for good.
Generally not a good idea. Overwriting a save tends to fuck up scripts and increase save bloat over time, which will eventually result in the file becoming unplayable anyway.
I'll admit I liked the perk system, and I liked the immersive perk descriptions and such, specially towards magic. Level up and learn a new spell, I love it. Is there a mod like that?
Is there a mod that makes the game like Req but not so sadistic, and also a mod that makes being a mage seem useful rather than feeling like I train too much Mana from all the spells I cast. I wanna play a pure mage.

Perkus Maximus?

If you can figure out the patching (especially when using mod manager), I would recommend SkyRe or PerMa. The revamped non-combat spells and skills are pretty great in them, and even allows you to feasibly make a bard with all of the charm/fury etc spells added and revamped.

I only mean you're not allowed to reload saves if you die, and you can't save your progress along the way (bar the exceptional quicksave to avoid crashes erasing progress). Your auto saves are all you've got, and if you die well too bad.

I like what I see, specially the Necromancy stuff. Thanks!

I need this mod.
I need this mod.
Armored Skeletons. I had it on because a mod needed it, and kept it on because it makes all the Draugr bosses a lot cooler and adds some variety to the skeletons, but it spawns so goddamn many of them. Also some of them are really tanky for some reason, and they keep resurrecting if you don't kill them with magic or silver weapons.
for example, it does this with Olaf One-Eye, which almost makes it worth the skeleton spam in Labyrinthian

Ok so I'm noticing two things about Skyrim mods right now.
1. recent mods are turing towards something called skyproc.
2. Those mods freeze when trying to be added to NMM as they're about to finish for some reason. Anyone deal with that before?
Otherwise Imma just go for a manual install of Perkus.
Don't use NMM, use Mod Organizer.
I'm such a fucking moron :v:
I just remembered that sometimes certain mods will have trouble adding to NMM from the site because of OS bits.
You work around that by manually downloading and then adding that file to NMM.
This might be a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know of any animation replacers for Oblivion that aren't extremely feminine or anime-esque?
Ok I finally got perkus into NMM.
Turns out, all I had to do was just wait and be patient for the mod to get into NMM.

Tbh oblivions problems arent in the animations but in the fact that cyrodiil has fucking moon gravity.
I just wish there was a splinter cell esque speed/jumpheight slider so you werent flying around at mach 6 by the end game.
well
blood boobs
at least they know.
Yeah, I think the people that actually use these mods realize how silly it is. But some games do it without mods in the first place, so hey.
Speaking of heavy armors, I hope TESVI gives you a really heavy feel when you use them. The Power Armor in the FO4 trailers looks like it handled like actual plate gear since it was pretty restrictive but overpowering at the same time. Would totally love that in TESVI.
