Just came back to skyrim after months, and as one does, I've bumped in to some problems while setting up mods. One is that fire based lights seem to cause weird sort of seams on the characters, which shift when I move around, and the other is that people in the world look bizarre and almost metallic when under shadows. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/54123195/2015-10-04_00012.jpg[/t] (can see here on her arm) [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/54123195/2015-10-04_00009.jpg[/t] anyone know what could be causing this?

My physical copy of Oblivion GOTY miraculously let me install it despite saying that Windows 10 is an unsupported OS, and this came up as part of the install. [t]http://i.imgur.com/KbYU9OM.png[/t] Did anyone play this, and was it as bad as it sounds? It seems like nothing would carry over to flip phones well.
Started Skyrim up again after 2 years.
Maybe your ENB is fucking with me but I don't think that's the vanilla body.
Just uninstalled all body mods (it was apparently CBBE with a "~realistic~" bodyslide set) and went back to vanilla mesh and textures. Now I just have a minor neck seam issue, somehow. [t]http://puu.sh/kyPbQ/2e6e978b72.jpg[/t] Pretty much this for every NPC, face/neck slight, but noticable, mismatch. First thought was ENB but turning that off didn't change anything. MO isn't showing any other textures in the directory.
Your face and body textures might not match perfectly.
if you've got cbbe, you should run the texblend program

Also the other day I decided to look in to all the resources I could find on Norse clothing and shit and I found out that technically, from a historical perspective, nude mods make more sense than the underwear they wear in Skyrim :v:

All I have on my Skyrim is Skyrim HD, want kinda mods are you running? I still need to get around to prettying up Skyrim, I just don't know which mods to use. All I'm using is Skyrim HD.

Actually had pretty good FPS with it. Though I can't figure out how to get rid of the letterboxing, it doesn't seem to be doing it the same way as other ENBs.

If all that medieval shit that happened a buncha years back is true, LoverSlab is canon. Everyone hop in for your extra dose of immersive content.
I remember an oblivion mod having the 'cinematic' bars too, what is with that. I mean, I try to be understanding when it comes to things I dislike, but who on earth thinks that slicing off parts of the screen for no real reason is a cool feature? That seam thing is actually a texture issue. Your un/modded male body texture doesn't match your un/modded male head texture. It looks like a .dds issue to me since everything lightning wise matches up, so check your male .dds texture files.
Did you know? If all that medieval shit that happened a buncha years back is true, LoverSlab is canon. Everyone hop in for your extra dose of immersive content.
If that one took you for a whirl, try this one: Everybody knows that the real life Khajiit died before the viking age during the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, but did you know that back in ye olden times, neither the norse nor the vikings actually wore horned helmets?? Yeah! Bethesda didn't research this game at all.
I thought horned helmets in norse and Viking things were meant for ceremonies? As in, we did the good stuff, time for me to put on my horny helmet. Combat use is definitely bad because a brother can just grab it and fuck you right up.

Combat use is definitely bad because a brother can just grab it and fuck you right up.
There are like 8 different explanations why. I've heard that it arose because of a helmet and drinking horn being found in close proximity, I've heard that it arose because in the 19th century operas they put horns on the helmets to make it more memorable and the stereotype rose from there, and I've heard that it was a ceremonial thing and not a normal thing too. I don't know which is accurate, to be honest. :v:
I'm pretty sure the opera stereotype one is right. They definitely didn't have horns for fighting helmets, because that would be stupid, and I'm not aware of any ceremonial helmets being found (plus, knowing the Viking raiders, "ceremonial garb" is whatever mail you were wearing the last time you killed some dumb priest)
Does someone have a quick and painless way to edit Skyrim's .nif files in a more in depth way? Nifskope was doing the trick but now I want some precision modelling shit and I really don't feel like compiling scripts for Blender so it can process all the files unless I absolutely have to.
Your choices are 3ds or blender.

Also tried the npcsetweight since a few searches said it may help. Using the HRP is most definitely not recommended, it's broken.
cbbe
Neither cbbe nor unp have any male textures, either your diffuse or spec is mismatched or one of your meshes isn't correctly flagged for the right value with one of said textures. Your choices are dl a male replacer with unform textures and meshes or clear your data folder wholesale. You shouldn't have anything in your data folder to begin with except FNIS and SKSE if appropriate.

This only works if you don't change the vertex count in the edit though. Outfit Studio is a pretty decent editor on it's own for making quick edits. Aside from that, quick and painless NIF editing doesn't exist. The plugin for 3D Max is jenky as fuck and doesn't work most of the time and it NEVER outputs a model that can be used in-game, you always have to do a lot of editing in NifScope to get it to work, the plugins for god damn CryEngine work better and that's saying something.

For some reason it works on males too, so I've been trying to go around in Immersive Armors' files and delete all of the weird invisible shit in there. Really helps performance. Oh well, shame to see that my only options are to fuck myself or to have a battle to the death with scripts, thank you for your help though.
I know I'm new to Skyrim modding, but even after downloading all the typical graphic stuff, grass, veiw distance, E.N.B.s, the game manages to look worse than Oblivion. It's so grainy and stuff. I hope I can find a good set of mods I really like eventually. [t]http://i.imgur.com/0UDwTQj.jpg[/t]
If that can help I wrote a basic guide on how to mod the game from a graphical standpoint back in July. http://www.gamersnexus.net/gg/2025-skyrim-graphics-mod-overhaul-and-benchmarks-2015 It's designed to update the game's graphics without altering the feel and art direction, and doesn't use ENB whatsoever. Video's not perfectly indicative, I personally ran with a much brighter configuration since I don't like crushed blacks. [sp]Thanks to steam and the paid mod fiasco for allowing me to land this contract[/sp]

Might wanna turn down the sun too, it's blowing out the sky too much.
