You can throw it in your load order and there's basically zero risk of inconsistencies or instability due to conflicts, and no script load either. I say core module because the main download also overrides some of the destruction spells, which I think is better done (and usually is) in a separate mod.

Now I'm not normally a huge reader, so I don't know what's normal, but I found the pacing to be a bit off. It takes like the first third of the book for stuff to start happening, and once it does, it all happens so fast I had trouble keeping track of all that was going on. I still haven't finished it.
