The Elder Scrolls Megathread XVII: Paid Mods? Not in My Community.

I tried to follow the step guide since I never know what to set my .ini setting to but that just lead to all the problems I'm having now. Is there some resource on what the best skyrim/skyrimpref/enb.ini settings should be?
If they were to reintroduce polearms in a future game, what kind of polearms would you like to see, other than spears and halberds. Would quarterstaves be considered a polearm?
Private mods? Hah. Hahaahaahaha. Seriously though why does modding attract the most egotistical morons ever?

hm, well I guess my game crashing after meeting the greybeards was no coincidence. It seems the dragon cultists are the problem. Cant open their inventory without the game crashing. wonder what thing I have that doesnt have a dragonborn patch...
of course its something obvious like cot, man Im stupid

A mod could be made private if some horrible game-breaking bug was found and the author might not want people to have their game broken while they work on a fix.
Ironically Giskard made all his mods private because people were fixing game-breaking bugs in his mods for him
He thinks stuff like TESedit, LOOT and Wyre Bash are useless and that his mods are perfectly fine and stable. (Even though cleaning any of his files shows thousands of ITM records)
a person should not be allowed to VA dunmer unless you're on your second pack of cigarettes that day

Be glad he's not using one of those bestiality SexLab mods.
Or is he and do we just not know it?

I'd say five packs. Gotta get that authentic "I have nothing but ash and cinders within me."
So I have SKSE(latest version) installed. Yet I have multiple mods telling me I don't and that some features will be locked out. Yet I can access everything just fine. Do I need to re install all my mods?

i wonder how many argonian voice actors have ended up with lung cancer

Have you updated it? A new version came out recently.
Crashing on main menu. Don't know why. Might be an overlapping patch or something but I just don't know.
I don't want to reinstall everything. T_T

I always thought Argonians should have regular, booming people voices with drawn out s's and a more phonetic prononciation.

argonians are amphibians, not reptiles

I want my 13 seconds back.

They're actually closer to mammals than anything else, despite having amphibious qualities, but really they're entirely unlike anything we'd find in nature so it's pointless to try and draw parallels.
If you want to get super technical, they're trees.

I hate Ice Mages, a lot. I mean all back-pedaling NPC mages are bad, but Ice Mages are the worst.

I know it's the obvious reply, but did you try a load with TES5Edit?
That's my go-to tool for fixing CTDs.

They're boob lizards that swim.

do you have any missing masters or mods that require dlcs you don't have?
Is master of disguise good? It looks great for roleplaying (in a good way).

It saddens me how the first thing that comes to my mind when seeing the word roleplaying is disgusting steam profiles:suicide:

I thought this was it, actually kinda the opposite and having one too many ESPs from one mod active, but everything is on on that front.

is this gritty enough for you?

Have it load your entire loadlist (I think sans Skyrim.esm) - if it stops loading or encounters an error for ANY reason, it'll show up in the window. That's how I solve missing dependencies and the like.
If you're actually getting to the main menu, but then it crashes on a new game or the like - it's likely something different, like memory or other conflicts.

There is also BOSS which automatically puts your ESPs in order and gives detailed information on stuff, like dirty edits which may contain errors, bugged navmeshes in certain mods and such. Also information on what each mod needs, or if you are missing something like a compability patch for a mod.

I think BOSS turned into LOOT now, which is more or less the same thing.
TES5Edit will actually mock-load your files though, and stop on any error.

It is a crash on the main menu so I'll try that when I get home.
