The Elder Scrolls Megathread XVII: Paid Mods? Not in My Community.
Do you know people on the team/used ot be on the team?
No?
Well I do, and that's how it is.
Mod support was not pre-planned this time, period, especially by the publishing arm. The framework put in place was for expansions/dlc, not end user support.
You haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about, they even put out a press release saying the CK may not receive ANY aftermarket support or even release after people started asking for it.
Maybe you need to watch you some old Gopher videos before pulling shit from your ass and calling it facts.
People at cons from bethesda such as QuakeCon said they wanted the modding tradition to continue, they also said it would depend entirely on market conditions and cost.
BGS and Bethesda are two different companies with two very different views on what's profitable and what's good for business long term.
I think I just defeated a Dragon Priest named Morokei, are these guys always quest-bound?
I think I just defeated a Dragon Priest named Morokei, are these guys always quest-bound?
There are eight named Dragon Priests, in addition to the unnamed ones. The named ones all drop a mask named after them, but Morokei, Nahkriin, and Rahgot are the only ones that I can think of that are locked by a quest.
Might as well post something I made since it's Elder Scrolls related. Also posted this in the Creative Work Megathread. Still a WIP.

This game out recently, looks pretty cool. I really want to see more stuff based on ESO, mostly because that's the closest we've got to accurate armor for most of the races.

Okay, so it's been a couple of years since I last played Skyrim, does anybody have any suggestions on mods that would give me a fresh experience without making it unreasonably hard or adding an ungodly amount of anime babes with GINORMOUS TATTY BOJANGLES!
Idunno, this looks more like the regular ebony armor made for an underling of someone who wears daedric armor :v:
It's based (admittedly, somewhat loosely) on the armor the Dremora are wearing in that animated trailer for ESO.

I actually like the design better than Skyrim's just because it looks like armor without loosing its otherworldliness. Morrowind Daedric is still best Daedric though.
It looks like a perfectly fine set of evil dude armor, but I think it would do better with a different helmet, and it doesn't really look like anything I'd call Daedric, but then it's based on ESO stuff so I guess randomly changing the helmet and calling it something other than Daedric would probably confuse people.
Also, what's up with the uploader not having a single full shot of it, had to look at the user pictures to get a good look at it. :v:

Why do I see this as a quest made by lovers lab.

This also reminded me that I forgot to read the last two updates before this one.
[sp2]The whole time during the imp boss fight I wanted a full game based it's gameplay.[/sp2]
[sp2]I guess I also had Hotline Miami on the mind because I'd reach for the R button after get hit.[/sp2]
That ESO Daedric armor got a patch by someone else that actually makes it look more Daedric, neato.

Also, has anyone ever tried Skyrim Wasteland Overhaul? I found it a long time ago and just got around to actually using it. It doesn't look like the screenshots for me, but I assume that's just because I'm using conflicting lighting mods and don't have an ENB. It's a pretty cool looking obscure mod though.

That's one ugly iron helmet. Doesn't even look like it was painted.
the iron helmet is ugly anyway
i don't know why people love it so much

it's iconic of skyrim since it's what the dovahkiin wore in all the trailers and promotional material

What are different tastes.

It's not bad but it looks like a generic fantasy basement.
Excited about ESO? No Todd Howard punchbag? Not even a sign of dwemer style plumbing? What a fucking casual.
Why beth used the ugliest helm in the game is beyond me
*ring ring* "Hello? Basically literally every light helmet in the game calling."
i'm pretty sure the only thing in the game that isn't ugly is the sky
and maybe some of the magic effects

The fuck is up with that ground texture though
Anyone else annoyed that even the most lived in cities in skyrim look like broken down ruins?
[editline]9th June 2015[/editline]
And that doing the civil war quests makes that even worse by burning down the ruins
Whiterun would be my favorite town in Skyrim if it wasn't smaller than your average hamlet. Every city in Skyrim (and all Elder Scrolls games, really) is just pointlessly tiny.
And then it's just wrecked forever during the main quest line. Like nobody ever bothers to un-fuck anything.

I think it's largely because Tamrielic society is being totally screwed over in 4E 201. The Empire was probably in charge of maintaining the cities (Radolf or whatever his name is, the Stormcloak guy in the opening, calls the stone walls present in Helgen and most other towns "Imperial walls", so presumably the Empire put them there), and they've been under too much pressure to deal with Skyrim's problems lately.
The fuck is up with that ground texture though
It's supposed to be cracked dirt, I think. I didn't notice how it repeats like that, I'm guessing it's just because the mod is in beta. It looks better in other screenshots, that one just shows the most obvious changes.
Why beth used the ugliest helm in the game is beyond me
It's Hollywood trash. TV Tropes "Horny Vikings", yes, they didn't use the word "Horned", they used it's "Horny".

Sometimes I swear the towns in Oblivion are larger
Probably because Skyrim was rushed, in all honesty.

Now someone needs to make a player home of this.
Sometimes I swear the towns in Oblivion are larger

Well, the cities actually are. The entire map in Oblivion is also seems larger in proportion to the player than in Skyrim.
