It peeved me greatly when I found out that the Argonian and Khajiit spoke differently than a regular guy but none of their dialogue choices actually matched it.

There's a mod somewhere that changes dialogue options when playing Khajiit to fit the different lingo.

I think I know the mod you're talking about, and I'm pretty sure it just straight up replaces all the normal text.
New to Elder Scrolls Online. I'm Daggerfall Covenant, can I hang out with people from the other factions or no?
So this armor was on the front page of the Nexus, and rightly so. It's actually really well made.

But then I saw the description.

:suicide:
Shocky always does shit like that.
"here's a 2 gig image dump of my blue OC fucking two hellhounds"
"I don't put jiggling in my armor, it look lewd and provocative and ridiculous"
then don't achieve them
it's not that hard not to achieve things
(And stuff other people said.)
It's not any kind of pressure to achieving or not that I mean, it's the effect achievements have on how games are made now.
Remember how every game used to have cheat codes? Even if you played the game legit, it's sometimes fun to fuck around and do weird stuff with the codes. (Elder Scrolls and other games with consoles are obviously exempt from this.) And games that do still have cheat codes will pop up a bit warning about how achievements are disabled, and autosaves are disabled, and oh by the way, did you know you're playing your game wrong?
Remember when you finished a collection in a game or accomplished a series of quests or tasks and you might actually unlock something? Get rewarded somehow? Now, it's POP! achievement! Hope you didn't want to start the game over, 'cause you ain't getting shit the second time!
Remember when you didn't have a ready checklist of all the weird or unusual things you could do in a game? Hey, dude, turns out you can beat the bad guy if you bring that thing from the beginning of the game and give it to his Mom before you fight him! Yeah, I know, dude. There's an achievement for that. Ka-durr.
TL;DR Grumble, grumble, get off my damn lawn, you damn kids.
I really like the nordic barbarian stuff the Nexus comes up with by playing around with Steel Armor/Tsun's Armor and Dragonbone pieces, they always look pretty great.
How hard is it really to implement weight sliders? Is this guy just lazy?

It's because of the extra bits that go on top of it. They can't have weight support, so they'd float at less than 50 weight and clip at over 50.
OpenMW is nearing 1.0.
They need to remake some extra graphical options from earlier verions as the engine has a new renderer, but it's close to being vanilla feature complete.

I remember thinking a few years ago "Man, by the time OpenMW is ready to play DaggerXL will be way past that." Now OpenMW is nearly at 1.0 and DaggerXL has been dead for a year. I was really excited for Daggerfall modding.

AFAIK Gamebryo uses several variations of poly placements for a model to have dynamic weight, usually 1 for base weight and another for muscular builds (or maybe it's only 1 poly file and the model itself is the base weight, I don't remember). So you'd have a model, and 2 poly files which depending on the weight amount are used to deform the model to apply the proper weight. I think it's a thing that's easy to learn and repeat, it's just that it's a bit time-consuming to double-check everything, make tweaks and make sure nothing clips while being deformed.
I haven't really made mods or models so I could be wrong on stuff, it's just what I know about Skyrim modeling.

Damn, the NPCs look way better now with less silly scaling, they actually look reasonable now.
I hope you guys are hyped for november 2018.
I almost regret trying out Light Armor and sticking with it instead of staying with Heavy Armor like I normally do. It's hard to find good looking Light Armor mods that aren't super skimpy or just mash-ups of other armors. Almost every Heavy Armor mod I've seen looks fucking amazing in comparison. My Light Armor skill is somewhere around 40-50 right now, and I'm debating whether or not to make the switch to Heavy Armor mid-way through my playthrough.

I gotta agree, Heavy Armor gives you a lot more room for creative design and generally ends up being more aesthetically pleasing since it's hard to fuck up a good set of plate.
There should totally be medium armor in TESVI, something made out of chainmail or reinforced leather with small plate pieces would be great.
Finally started playing Skyrim, and it's pretty cool!
But I'm running out of free weight for my items all the time. Can you increase it?
And is there a way to make it so the game doesn't give you the option to search empty containers? And to close the menu when there's no more items to take?

Raising your Stamina increases carrying weight, and of course there are mods to add backbacks.
Stamina increases carry weight I think.

Empty containers will respawn their contents after X amount of time, and/or are there for you to put your junk in. You're not really supposed to be carrying everything you own around with you, increase your stamina and store the junk you're not actively using somewhere. Removing empty containers/making the menu auto exit from empty containers would completely break item storage, which is pretty important.
I can't possibly be the only one who instantly removes the carry weight limit in Bethesda games. Not just in this game too, any RPG with weight limits just gets it gone instantly either with mods or console commands. I hate that shit so much.
He is right, you got Lydia for that.
i am sworn to carry your burdens
I can't tell if this is some cruel joke about the future.

the limit is there so your inventory doesn't get cluttered and so that the menu doesn't lag every time you open it.
Have you noticed that when you carry all your shit, the menu lags really badly? There's a technical reason why the carry limit is there, and when you have too many items the game has to load them all in and takes even longer when you're carrying a shitload of stuff.
They've done the smart thing in Skyrim and basically said you can carry 300, which is perfect for looting a dungeon and returning to your home town for depositing loot.
Man, ESO might not be much fun, but the level desingers did a hell of a job.

I just bought Oblivion GOTY Deluxe, what are the essential mods for a first playthrough?
Giving Morrowind a proper go since it's been sitting in my steam library for years, pretty good so far, the main quest is much more interesting than Skyrim's. Anyone know if there's anywhere to store items? Am I right in thinking you can't buy houses? At the moment I'm just dumping it on the floor in the Fighters' Guild.
