there is another stronghold in the desert near spawn. Just cross it till you hit the ocean, i left a sand pillar in place where i got out.

Yeah it would be really kind if people could do just small things that require little effort, I literally spent an hour yesterday patching in the holes around my area that the creepers created only to have more get created the next day.
