I just climbed all the way up there to check. It doesn't even look close to being finished. I don't know if anybody's been working on it recently, but if nobody's going to claim it or finish the project, I say we strip it for resources and make spawn look less ugly.
Ive had a problem chaining villages, and just haven't gotten around to finishing it since Christmas = family time.

I'm also hoping to build a small "garden" in this area - a room that looks almost as if it's outside and looks completely organic, with grass on the ground with flowers everywhere.
Underneath the Great Hall main chamber I'm going to have "the vaults" which I have a planned out inventory system to stash all the items I ever get. I don't waste anything, even rotten flesh, so I'm going to need to cut hundreds of trees for the many, many chests needed.
It's a huge endeavor that alone will probably take me 3 or so months to complete. But I welcome any help I can get; the only thing I ask for is if we can stick to my planned out design for the place. All I have planned is the layout. Any decorative designs I haven't bothered with yet due to not needing it so if you want to add to it in that respect, go for it.
I'll take on 2 or 3 people to move in, but would avoid anything larger than that. I've tried making a dwarven hold on another server and about ten or so people joined in and the clash of ideas was so intense that nothing ever got done and what was managed to be dug out mismatched everything else and became just a big clusterfuck. Hoping to avoid that this time :v:

Forgot to mention; I'm also going to have tunnels leading to the other peaks on that island and build watch towers that are only accessible underground. Thought that would add to the topside look a bit better (and give an added defense against red dragons?)
If someone does come along, can you grab some tree sapplings? Specifically arcadia and dark oak? (Along with jungle materials, if any can be found). All I have is oak, birch and spruce.

I made it to the fortress with dark oak and acacia tree saplings. Couldn't find much iron on the way there, but I did put dirt down on the sheep farm and connected it to the grass so they could eat and regenerate their wool. Once I set up a miniature, temporary living space for myself on the surface, I'll start hunting around for iron on the nearby islands.
WafflesMgee has offered to join the dwarven expedition as well.
I think that's all the dwarf immigrants I'll take at the moment, with Lord George and Exigent

majority of portals are connected by stone roads, overall you should be safe as long as soon as you reach the road. If you're setting up a portal of your own you'll have to do some searching to connect it but afterwards you're fine

Hey, just to let you guys know, I'm going to be clearing a lot of leaves out of an uninhabited forest so I can use them to clear water out of a place I'm trying to drain.
I just thought I should say something because those places can come out looking like they've been griefed. I'll chop down the stumps and replant the trees on a return trip.
