When you add stuff that makes Toadette or Koopa Paratroopa look like interesting additions, you are doing it wrong. Also, on the matter of clones and such, I feel Falco was quite well done for something that similar to Fox. Noticeably lower movility, far different killing methods... Stuff like that, Luigi, Wolf (clone in the way of having similar specials and that's all) or Ganondorf are okay-ish in my book. Stuff like Roy (Marth with some stronger moves and easier to pick up, but overall far worse, still borderline), Young/Toon Link (although Toon was decent, their existence basically strips Link of reasons to not be dead weight) or Dr.Mario (stronger Mario with a different costume), however, shouldn't happen.
I think he meant Metal Mario was like Queen Bee, a waste of a character.
I love metal mario, sunshine is one of my favorite games. But I do agree in a mario kart/smash bros game he'd be a waste.
That reminds me; Metal characters as the penultimate fight in Classic for the win. I wasn't quite fond of Brawl's universe-based classic lineup; 64 and Melee going by fight style was better in my opinion. Also, bring back individual Target Test maps, Board the Platforms, Race to the Finish, Melee's Target! music, and the fighting polygons/wireframes/alloys in classic mode. And Adventure was awesome and wouldn't quite be redundant with a story mode also existing.
Considering they would've had to make like, 35 target test maps if they didn't go for the "5 maps shared among all" angle, I doubt we'll get anything more then Target Test maps and even then if we get one per character that'd be lucky.
We got 25 in Melee just fine. We had 24 total bonus maps in the original. Seriously, some parts of Brawl didn't measure up to older games in the series, they didn't feel as well developed. Directly imported models as trophies, just 5 target stages, less events, plenty of Co-Op stuff that wouldn't see much use anyway... And the lack of an Overalls Wario trophy is unforgivable. As is the lack of more non-original enemies in SSE... The Target maps in Melee also had you figure out complex ways to play, specially those of clones; Ganondorf, Dr.Mario and Young Link's wouldn't be completed the first time you played those.

If that means Adventure mode, fuck yeah. If not, neat looking map, and good to see stuff from the 3DS version (AKA what I'll bring to class if I have it in 2015).
I hope it's adventure mode. That doesn't look like a fun map to fight on imo. ps: the 3ds version is getting a NSMB2 stage and a Super Mario 3D Land stage, they're separate from each other, this is the NSMB2 stage
Metal Mario was in MK7 though.
When i read this i thought you meant he was in Mortal Kombat 7.
I love metal mario, sunshine is one of my favorite games. But I do agree in a mario kart/smash bros game he'd be a waste.
-He's an outright character in SSB64 -Sunshine? What?
If Sonic does not make a return I'm gonna be pissed. Want to have a 3 way grudge match between him, Mario & Megaman. But with the new Sonic game being Nintendo exclusive it seems like a good sign. I wonder if there will be any other Megaman (Roll, Protoman, Bass) or Sonic (Tales, Knuckles, Shadow) characters as well
I love metal mario, sunshine is one of my favorite games. But I do agree in a mario kart/smash bros game he'd be a waste.
Yeah man, Sunshine was awesome. I fuckin' love the wing cap in that game.
Shadow Mario was awesome. Bowser Jr can go die in a pit.
They need to bring back the metal mario stage just for the music alone (With the footsteps too):
I actually don't remember, but did Brawl have the Metal Box like the one in Melee?
-He's an outright character in SSB64 -Sunshine? What?
wait shit its shadow mario im thinking of i shouldnt post when sleepy
Is something wrong with FP? I tried to add the NSMB2 stage to the OP, but it gave me a white, empty box. The same thing happens when I try to preview my posts: It basically deletes them.

Looks like Nintendo pulled the fastest 180 about the EVO situation: http://shoryuken.com/2013/07/09/changes-to-evo-2013-smash-schedule/

Super Smash Brothers: Igniting questionable depictions of nintendo characters since 2001
[IMG_thumb]http://i40.tinypic.com/n172ps.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
More on this. From the looks of it, it seems that the Super Mario 3D Land stage and this stage are one in the same. Look at those donut lifts. They take their design from 3D Land, but much of the level in the pic also resembles New Super Mario Bros. Sakurai also posted this on Miiverse: "Pic of the day. This shows a traveling stage in the moment just after Bowser got blasted from below in the first trailer." https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAABAABnUYnVZmUztQ And check this out: If you look close, you can see that the green platforms are moving into the background on rails. I think that we only have one "new" Mario stage that scrolls left to right as well as forward and backward.
won't load for me.
It says this:
Update, 6:38 PM I’ve just receive word from Nintendo that the Evo Smash Bros. Melee stream will be allowed to proceed. We will be restoring the original stream and tournament schedules. Obviously this is a huge relive for all of us here and we’re thrilled that the world will get to see the best Smash players fight it out this weekend. Thanks to everyone online who supported both Evo and Smash, and thanks to Nintendo for allowing us to stream their game. Here are the restored schedules with Smash in its rightful place.

[IMG_thumb]http://i44.tinypic.com/jszioj.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Sakurai is a Dark Souls fan?
Unfortunately, it looks like the combat in the new Smash Bros will be as boring and floaty as Brawl's.
Unfortunately, it looks like the combat in the new Smash Bros will be as boring and floaty as Brawl's.
I hope the gravity isn't like in that, because look how slow they fall! It's ridiculously slow, like they're playing with gravity turned down.
Unfortunately, it looks like the combat in the new Smash Bros will be as boring and floaty as Brawl's.
Sakurai specifically said "Melee was fast, Brawl was slow, we're going in the middle for this" So I guess you can expect it to not be as floaty as Brawl's
Indeed he did. Imo that's the best way to go. Best of both worlds will make more people satisfied.
