Unfortunately, it looks like the combat in the new Smash Bros will be as boring and floaty as Brawl's.
there's nothing boring about brawl's combat this is just a minor complaint, one that mainly came about because people were butthurt about wavedashing being changed and needed something legitimate-sounding to latch onto
I don't think there's anything wrong with Brawl other than tripping and occasional character balance and the usual minor complaints, but a while ago I played Melee again and here's my opinion. Everything had more weight to it. Hitting your opponent felt like it did more, it was more fluid and had impact. Brawl doesn't have quite that same feeling. I give no fucks about the comp scene, but I prefer the feel of Melee.

I like floatiness when it means a certain character is at home in the air (no, Falco doesn't count. Falco only goes to the air to drillkick stuff to death, for a bird he consistently has subpar recovery). Stuff like Jigglypuff, Lucario, or borderline Mewtwo (I liked its playstyle, despite the noticeable degree of underpowerness and required degree of mastery for low results) is fine by me; be floaty if you have awesome air speed, recovery and aerials. Don't have everything floaty though. Snake being floaty made no sense.
I am hoping we get a Nintendo Direct sometime before August.

It was too easy to win as Fox or Sheik and too hard to win as Ness or Kirby. The gap between the worst and best was significantly reduced in Brawl. That's quite legitimate though. I actually like to play Heavy Brawls sometimes, it makes the fighting more ground-based.

I feel like in brawl he was made weaker and handles poorly compared to melee.

I would understand and accept the complaint more if they just gimped a couple characters but a slower, level playing field is still a level playing field. [sp]I kinda like the floatiness. It made the lighter characters and the flying ones much more satisfying and viable and allowed better and longer aerial combat. Please don't hurt me[/sp]
I never had issues with Ness in melee. I feel like in brawl he was made weaker and handles poorly compared to melee.
His Smash attacks are balls and he's way too light. Trust me, I'm a Ness main in all 3 games.

I can't see that picture without thinking of Bateman and dubs
I can't see that picture without thinking of Bateman and dubs
I can't see that picture without thinking of how big his fucking head is compared to his body, His head is basically half his torso.
I can't see that picture without thinking of how big his fucking head is compared to his body, His head is basically half his torso.
Mario's got a comically-large head too. Sprite limitations, oh how you've influenced character designs over the years.
i don't understand why they based megaman on the sprite and not the concept art
i don't understand why they based megaman on the sprite and not the concept art
Because playing to his original NES appearance and whatnot. Personally I would have preferred they go more MM7, but they didn't, so whatever.
More on this. From the looks of it, it seems that the Super Mario 3D Land stage and this stage are one in the same. Look at those donut lifts. They take their design from 3D Land, but much of the level in the pic also resembles New Super Mario Bros. Sakurai also posted this on Miiverse: "Pic of the day. This shows a traveling stage in the moment just after Bowser got blasted from below in the first trailer." https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAABAABnUYnVZmUztQ And check this out: If you look close, you can see that the green platforms are moving into the background on rails. I think that we only have one "new" Mario stage that scrolls left to right as well as forward and backward.
This stage looks really cool. I hope there's a sprite [del]megaman[/del] everyone skin.
I can't see that picture without thinking of how big his fucking head is compared to his body, His head is basically half his torso.
Uh I'd recommend you stay away from Megaman Powered Up
I never thought the combat in brawl was worse, minus tripping. I think they are both fun in their own ways. However, since I'm more of an aerial player, I enjoyed the air game and brawl and the crazy mid-air fights that would happen
Holy shit Sakurai it's literally been a month since the last character reveal please offer some new info. I'm dying
Holy shit Sakurai it's literally been a month since the last character reveal please offer some new info. I'm dying
yeah wtf huge chance to get everyone mega-hyped and buying the Wii U/3DS and they're letting it slip through their hands
A new character every month would not reveal everything too soon but also wont make us wait through droughts
yeah wtf huge chance to get everyone mega-hyped and buying the Wii U/3DS and they're letting it slip through their hands
Well, the games come out in about 6-8 months. Making people buy the Wii U or 3DS to play a game that still takes some time to get released...
I might get a 3ds for this. And a Wii U...
Well, the games come out in about 6-8 months. Making people buy the Wii U or 3DS to play a game that still takes some time to get released...
it'll keep the Wii U in the public eye and collective consciousness That's important for sales
Ars Technica just wrote a Legal Analysis on Meleegate.
OLIMAR REJOINS THE FRAY [IMG_thumb]http://i43.tinypic.com/t8vne1.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I know it probably won't happen, but I hope Lucas will be kept in. Is there any chance of that or will he be taken out due to the fact of little relativity? He's pretty much my main and I use him over ness.
Hoorah, finally a character reveal
I'm sort of dissapointed they decided to stick with screenshots instead of introducing characters like they did with the brawl dojo, but it's nice they're starting to reintroduce characters again [editline]12th July 2013[/editline] Also, is that a new pikmin stage in the screenshots?
